THE KING OF WALL STREET IS BROUGHT TO HIS KNEES BY AN AMBITIOUS BOMBSHELL. I keep my two worlds separate. At work, I’m King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I’m always right. I’m shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless. At home, I’m a single dad trying to keep his fourteen year old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If … daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there’s a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right.
When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She’s the most infuriating woman I’ve ever worked with.
I don’t like the way she bends over the photocopier—it makes my mouth water.
I hate the way she’s so eager to do a good job—it makes my dick twitch.
And I can’t stand the way she wears her hair up exposing her long neck. It makes me want to strip her naked, bend her over my desk and trail my tongue all over her body.
If my two worlds are going to collide, Harper Jayne will have to learn that I don’t just rule the boardroom. I’m in charge of the bedroom, too.

Oh, how I loved this book! As the mother of a teenager girl, I had plenty of relatable and laugh-out-loud moments. The King of Wall Street is a sexy standalone with believable characters. Yes, Max King is a millionaire, but not the over the top type. He’s real, and a true family man above all else. As for Harper, I love when an author writes a strong female character, and this one is anything but a pushover. When Max and Harper mix business with pleasure, the pages set on fire! Overall, a captivating story and a great five star read!
I absolutely loved Max and Harper! Their story was filled with sexual tension, chemistry, and a passion like no other. I had a smile throughout reading because these two characters and the multiple secondary characters were so much fun! If you are looking for a single dad, boss- employee romance with some sizzle this is the one for you!
“This girl could end me.”
King of Wall Street by Louise Bay is a heartfelt, emotional, sexy romance about a hard headed single dad and a woman who just wants someone to put her first. Max and Harper set the pages on fire with their scorching HOT chemistry and their antagonistic banter. This standalone romance had all of my favorite tropes in one: enemies to lovers, office romance, and single dad romance. They were all bundled together to make one hell of an emotional and passionate love story. Louise Bay does not go unnoticed in this community as she consistently brings us stories and characters that are so easy to fall in love with. I may be late to the party with Max and Harper’s story, but this fantastic read just got me even more excited for what’s to come from this very talented author.
Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I read it in a day which is good for me given I don’t have a lot of reading time.
Harper works for Max King. He’s her sexy, arrogant boss, and brilliant at what he does. Until he goes home to his other life as a father of a 14 year old daughter.
I loved seeing both sides of this man. He’s so sweet with his daughter and clearly adores her, although he struggles with the fact she’s growing up and he just wants to keep her his little girl forever.
Harper Jayne only sees the powerful business man and she has just one opinion of him. She uses one word to describe him frequently which cracked me up.
Harper’s ambitious and landing the job working for Max King had been her dream. She’s driven to succeed in a predominantly man’s world for personal reasons.
I loved the build up of sexual tension between the two and it’s volatile when they finally come together.
This author writes a story that will suck the reader in and keep you reading to the end. The characters are all likeable and the the sex hot. There’s a little bit of everything in this book.
I don’t want to reveal too much of the story, but it is thoroughly enjoyable. I loved it.
This was my first read from Louise and it was sweet and sexy fun.. How can you not drawn to Max King? Arrogant King of WallStreet.. sexy as hell.. pain on my heart. He wasnt easy man to handle.. Behind all that.. Max is a loving Dad.. caring.. protective – worst than Mother of Hen.. I adored him with his personalities.. He definitely know how to treat women..He cant be always right.. but he knows how to make it Right
Harper Jayne.. oh my sassy lady… the equavilant of Max.. she can sass him out with her no non-sense attitude.. this lady has some temper and hold grudges.. Harper is woman who love attention.. who doesnt like to depend on with men.. she drove crazy with her antics but i totally understand why she felt that way.
The dynamic of the story was fun.. it was a relax sexy romance.. Max and Harper were hot and intense… nothing short about it… it was fresh.. hillarious and every woman deserve Jimmy Choo
I loved this book
This was my first book by Louise Bay and I’m kicking myself as to why I waited so long!!
This book was full of steam, sass and one sexy hero – all my favourites!! I’ve since binged the while series and moved on to another!
Don’t wait, download now!!!
Loved this! Harper Jayne is proving something to her father. Max King wants to get the business of the man he admires. Unfortunately, they happen to be the same man. Max is an alpha who is smart, slick, and sexy as hell. Harper is confident and driven. They both have a pull toward each other they want to sideline but just can’t. This is a sexy, smart story.
What a great book! This is the first book I have read by Louise and it was fantastic. The characters are all unforgettable and so fun. The King of Wall Street, Max King is a rich, sexy businessman and also a single dad. Harper Jayne is feisty, independent and determined to prove to her father that he lost out by not bothering to include her in his business. The chemistry between them is off the charts, hot, hot hot!!! They are so good together in and out of the boardroom. I love where the story takes them.
I love Harper Jayne she’s definitely a very infuriating lady. I really love this #Authors work, so I will definitely rate this book with a 5 Star Review. Can’t wait to read more by Louise Bay. <3
Harper and Max mix about as well as oil and water. She thinks he is rude and ruthless. She gets mad just seeing him. He seems to pick on her relentlessly and she can’t do anything right at work. However, underneath it all their attraction to each other is white hot. Lack of communication and misplaced assumptions are definitely their downfall. A lot of self examination on both their parts finally lead them to acknowledging their love and their HEA.
its an scary sadish movie
I did not finish this one.
OK, here’s the issue. The main character was so moody, it was like PMS on steroids. Or a severe case of bipolar disorder.
She got angry over random, insane stuff just to give the novel more conflict.
The man, her BOSS, said that sleeping with her was inappropriate. Which it IS and not insulting at all. It was just a fact! But the female lead lost her mind as if her boss was an insulting jerk. And she did it a LOT.
I actually felt sorry for our male lead because there was literally no reason for him to like her, she kept freaking out for the slightest reason, even when it didn’t make sense.
The rest of the series is not nearly this bad, I’ve learned, but the female main characters are awfully judgmental about men, jump to assumptions with no evidence, and basically hate all men at first because of daddy issues or because of one past betrayal. I’m sorry, but I don’t like people making judgmental generalizations about any groups of people based on ONE bad experience with one bad person. That’s just… weak.
But this one is the worst one.
The details of their day to day lives was lacking. More like an episode of Suits than a real research firm. I’m used to characters being more self aware. In some books they are self obsessed which is worse. In this book, the characters were a bit clueless. I just like hearing the dreams and emotions behind the lust. This book was all lust. It was a good mix of two people who knew what they were doing rather than dominant male commanding her body. But it just lacked depth.
I finally got around to listening to this one and loved it. Harper and Max are the perfect couple. They both are not looking for a relationship when it hits them in the face. All she has ever wanted to do was work at King and Associates, working for max King was her ultimate job. Although he doesn’t interact with her much, she is only a research analyst and he is the boss. When they do cross paths, there is so much tension, sexual tension that Max has to get away from her.
This story is great, it is fun, flirty, sexy, irresistible, and perfect. This is a first for me from this author and I will be reading more from her.
I love Sebastian York and Andi Arndt as narrators, they are great together.
Great
A story that brings together a man who runs a company that does great things, he loves his daughter and has never thought of settling down until he meets Harper. Harper made King & Associates the company she wanted to work for and learn from. Max is her boss, but he is also her neighbor. Things heat up.
My thoughts on this book:-
38%: 1) The first few chapters were a literal mess. The jumps in Chapters 1, 2 and 3… It felt like I missed something in between. We went from 0 to 60 without any proper context or reasoning.
2) The female lead, Harper, is giving me a whiplash. It feels like she has 3 different personalities:
(a) The one that we get from her POV
(b) the person she is with her best friend
(c) the one with Max, aka The King of Wall Street and this version is crazy
46%: Oh lord! Harper is a train wreck of assumptions. She’s honestly said, “I can’t find someone attractive who had a daughter who wasn’t important enough to tell me about…”
Who’s gonna tell her that that man is her boss and the only thing deep about their relationship is his D in her V?
47%: “It wasn’t like we were dating; he didn’t owe me anything, but the fact he was so secretive about it? It seemed dishonest. He never mentioned his daughter in interviews or around the office, there weren’t even any photographs on his desk. It was as if he was hiding her. Ashamed.”
What an effin’ waste of a character
60%: SKIM…
SKIM…
SKIMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
81%: I don’t know why, but I’m determined to see these two exhausting depthless characters to the end.
Overall reaction: #internalscreaming
It wasn’t a bad book but there was no excitement for me. I didn’t particularly like Max or Harper. Max was overly full of himself but not in a good way and Harper was a whiny annoying brat There wasn’t enough of the story that I liked to want to read it again. Until next time y’all happy.
This was awful. Harper is just out of school and basically one step above intern and she lives in the same building as her uber wealthy powerful boss who happens to he a gigantic jerk. Not even close to any sort of reality. Plus, with his wealth why are the walls so thin no matter how athletic and adventurous the sex was? Ugh. How was it possible for him to get any work done when all he did was “get sex” whenever he wanted it and the rest of the time think about it. With the exception being a good dad he was a textbook jerk. And the way they got together when she went to yell at him…seriously just scummy on both their parts and not in a million years. It was so cheesy, unrealistic and gross. There isn’t a single decent human being in the entire book. And Grace, worst best friend ever. Some advice logical and even good, but hard to take from someone who is on her own a giant mess, an enabler and a spoiled rotten princess. Also, how many times was is necessary for his sister to say the word penis? What was the point for there is no shock value or humor. It got old quickly. Such a let down and total waste of time. I really disliked this waste of my time.
This story was like taking a breath of fresh air or if you prefer a deliciously tasty treat. This was the first book I had the pleasure of indulging myself with by this author. It definitely will not be my last. Max and Harper have a fun, exciting, and dare I say sultry connection. I loved their banter, swooned because of their chemistry, and my heart felt full with the heartfelt journey they embarked on. I enjoyed this book immensely.
