I told myself I didn’t want her.Didn’t need her.But it was all lies.I craved her touch.Craved the way her sweet red lips took away the pain.Yet I knew I couldn’t have her.Not when my enemies are determined to put a bullet in my back. They believe the way to get to me is through her.Coming for her will be their downfall. As the President of the Kings MC, there’s one thing I’m known for—doing … there’s one thing I’m known for—doing whatever it takes to protect the ones I love.
I’ll fight until I have nothing left to give.
Until she and my family are safe.
I’m not preparing for battle.
I’m preparing to end the war.
My choices might be the death of me.
But if the scars on my body and heart have taught me anything, it’s that love is worth the sacrifice.

This author knocked it out of the park with this addition to her already fabulous series!! Nix has not had it easy most of his life and it literally broke my heart. The pain and grief he goes through would have broken a lesser man. Synne has had it rough for all of her adult life but especially the last five years. She makes her escape and finds herself at the Kings doorstep. Luckily for her Liz, being the voice of reason, hires her despite her big brother’s objections. Synne is perfect for Nix and brings him back to the land of the living. Synne is the Queen to Nix’s King. When old enemies show up to wreak havoc for the Kings will Nix and his brothers be able to dispose of them once and for all? I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!
King Of Kings was an explosive read. It had all the emotions possible, I gasped and shouted, laughed and cried, the suspense was intense and the loving hot and breathtaking, it had it all. My heart broke for Nix, I knew his story would be special but Wow! Betty’s MC stories are excellent, but this one and Nix is definitely going to be a favourite. A definite must read!
Oh wow! I loved this book!! What an amazing MC story. King Of Kings is book 3 in this series. Author Betty Shreffler did an amazing job and she unexpectedly broke my heart again. I was blown away by these wonderful characters and once I started reading I couldn’t stop. King of Kings is an emotional and angsty but a very sexy read. It will give you all the warm fuzzy feelings then have you twisted in knots. You never know what to expect on this wild ride.
Nix is the president of the Kings MC. He’s a tough loyal guy with the heart of gold but don’t cross him or mess with the people he cares about. He will stop at nothing to get even. Nix is in a bad place but when his eyes set on Synne he knows his world will never be the same.
Synne is a sexy beautiful woman that’s running from her abusive past. When she meets Nix the sparks fly. Nix and Synne have such a powerful connection that it might melt your kindle.
Will both Nix and Synne’s past catch up with them and will they be able to have the peace life that they deserve? I highly recommend reading this wonderful series.
Wow, just wow.
Nix and Synne’s story is so emotional, steamy, awesome.
The way they find happiness after they have been thru in life.
This story is absolutely amazing.
There are certain authors that you know when you get ahold of their book you will not be disappointed. They are few and far between and this author is amazing!
This is book three in the Kings MC series.
I recommend reading the series from the beginning as you truly get to know each character.
The focus of this story is the president of the MC gang Nix. When the term heavy is the head that wears the crown it definitely pertains to Nix. His ideal life changes in one event when the love of his life is killed and dies in his arms. This changes him dramatically and he distances himself from others so that fate does not happen again.
Yet in comes Synne who is to much to resist.
She too has endured so much. These two give into each other but their are enemies that wish to prevent a HEA.
This author makes you feel so much for the characters and the scenes. There were moments that my heart was pounding!
I highly recommend this book and series that I am volunteering to leave a review for.
King of Kings by Betty Shreffler is book Three in A Kings MC Romance Series. This is the story of Nix and Synne. I have read the previous books (Loved Them!) which added to my enjoyment and understanding of this one. So I do think you should read the other books but with that said you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Nix is the President of the Kings MC and suffered the lost of a women he loved do to a rival group. This has put him in a tail spin of sorrow but also into protective mode for those he cares for. While swirling in self destruction Synne walks into his life. Synne is no stranger to the club life so she is no weltering flower. Synne is looking for a safe place to land after walking away from her past. Nix of course is immediately attracted to her and wants her but he knows that he can only bring her danger. So a dance of fighting his emotions begin where he tried to keep away and resit. This is a dark book with violence but it also send you through a lot of emotions. Loved it! I hope to read more from this author.
This action packed book had me glued from the very first page! The plot was well written and well planned with strongly created characters that as I turned each and every page I felt like Nix and Synne pulled me right into their story as it effortlessly unfolded!
Outstanding MC read. The author has given us romance, action, suspense and brotherhood: all the things I love in a good MC storyline. The Kings MC series is one of my favorites. This is the prez’s story (Nix) and what an emotional ride this one is. The storyline broke my heart and mended it over an action packed sizzling storyline.
Nix has the world by the tail, he’s the prez of a mc family that he holds dear and is proud to call his brothers and has the love of a good woman. But the club, especially Nix, has its share of enemies. In one fail swoop those enemies destroy Nix’s life as he watches the love of his life die in his arms. Nix goes into a dark spiral not letting anyone close for fear of more of his loved ones getting caught in the crossfire. In walks Synne. She is on the run and hiding from an abusive past. She too wants distance so as to not bring her troubles to those around her. Can too wounded hearts help the healing process without causing any more harm?
Kudos to the author for an exciting read. I highly recommend grabbing up King of the Kings and the Kings MC series. If you like MC romances, you won’t be sorry you did. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Outstanding stars.
This was a great addition to the kings MC series. I have really enjoyed this series. The characters are engaging and memorable. Nix and synne’s story did not disappoint. Nix’s back story was rough but Synne’s was almost crippling. I am so glad they found each other and that their future will be brighter. I hope there’s more MC books to come.
What the heck did I just read…*fans herself*. Wow was there some steamy scenes!! The push and pull between Nix and Synne was so much fun to read. The chemistry immediately had me thinking I needed a cigarette after a few scenes. It was a page turner and I was sad it was over so quickly. This book had a ton of great supporting characters that I truly hope will be getting their own books at some point. Great start to a series
This is the 3rd novel in this phenomenal series, and my word, this gifted author has outdone herself with Nix and Synne’s story!! This is a well written story which is dark, and an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. This story is heart-breaking, and has violence, drama, passion, is a steamy read and is certainly not for the feint hearted. I was totally enthralled throughout this riveting tale and in my opinion, this is this talented author’s best work to date.
Wow, well these books certainly surprised me, I don’t read that many MC books, but when I read the blurb it got me intrigued, glad I read them. Nix and Synne’s story is full of emotions, their own internal demons come out and they have to struggle in order to conquer and find themselves. The steamy scenes well they do have chemistry and they top it. Will be looking forward for more books from Betty Shreffler.
This is the 3rd book in this great series, can be read as a stand-alone and I was addicted from beginning to end.
Nix has had more than his share of heartbreak, you may want to grab a tissue for that but his world is turned the right way up again when a sassy red-headed Harley riding Synne comes into his life and starts work at the repair shop.
A well-written story and when I listened to this in audio the narrators did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life.
It’s hot, it’s gritty, King of Kings is filled with angst, danger, and everything I love in an MC read and I will definitely be reading or listening to more books by this author.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea
So let me start of by saying that I did like the book and wanted to know how Nix was doing because I loved him in the first book, he was a good brother and he continued to be so. I was broken hearted when we started reading and knew something was going to happen in order for us to get his love story. I have to say I didn’t like Synne, and I was wondering and trying to think if I have ever really liked any of Betty’s main characters, I mean I did enjoy enjoy Castle of Kings (first book) even though I wasn’t crazy of Jake’s whoriness and I felt that Liz fell in love cried to much, but I did end up enjoying it,so I know I am confusing you, well join the club. So back to this I liked Nix, always did and still liked him and wanted to hug him, so why did we get Synne? I mean I am sorry but I felt she was too slutty, for me anyway I get this is an MC biker book and this is the norm, but still she grossed me out, and I felt she needed to respect herself more, so while I wanted him to have someone I wouldn’t have chosen her. And, on a side note, I didn’t like William flirting with others but was happy he kicked Maci if she wanted his attention and respect she went about it the wrong way, and again she needed respect for herself.
rcvd and ARc at no cost to author..voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
I have to be honest and say I didn’t love this one, I thought the writing was less than stellar compared to Shreffler’s other books. (I noticed people were winking, a *lot*, so I counted: 22 winks by 50% of the book). Also, the sex scenes were all about Nix and less about Synne which might work for some people, but I like it to be a bit more equal, and the frequency felt more like filler and less like moving the story forward. There were weird inconsistencies (how did Synne have food in her fridge to make them chicken alfredo after being at Bike Week for a week?). I just didn’t love this one and I think that when I look at her other work that I love, this one doesn’t stand up.
