Up and coming reporter, Lettie McBride, couldn’t believe it when she got the professional opportunity of a lifetime – a one-on-one, multi-day sit down interview with the famously media shy King Alek of Keynn. He’d asked for her by name, sent his private jet to pick her up, and was letting her stay at the palace with him! This could make her career.Alek is everything she’d hoped he’d be, and more: … be, and more: strong, charming, eloquent, and commanding. But he is also the target of an assassination attempt. Lettie gets more – much more – than she bargained for when she accepted this assignment: underground bunkers, guns, crowds cheering her name… and a sexy man who wants to be her King of Hearts!
Publisher’s Note: This steamy love story contains elements of power exchange.

I was granted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of Carolyn Faulkner’s “King of Hearts.” I recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time… Happy Reading!
I am a fan of Carolyn Faulkner’s and this book did not disappoint. It has a strong female who totally intrigues a foreign King. It has intrigue, but the main focus is on the developing relationship between the journalist woman and the king of a foreign country. She can hardly believe that he spanks her, and that she is willing to tolerate it to get her story. Nor can she hardly believe that he could fall in love with her any more than she thought the boy next door could. It’s a sweet love story.

The good character and storyline development kept me totally glued to my kindle until the turn of the very last page!
She saves him not once but twice
King of Hearts is really a great story by Carolyn Faulkner. Is threw me at the beginning because it is based in the 1970’s but it fits with the story-line and some of the thinking. But yet it could still be based today because some people still think the same way.
Lettie is a super feisty and smart reporter who does interview pieces with people. She has a way of being that they open up to and share things that they don’t otherwise. She gets a huge break when she is requested to interview King Alek le-Kyenn. He just happens to be her biggest crush and a total fantasy, she even had a poster of him on her wall during school.
Alek is a modern King in the sens that he was trying to move his country and people into the future and bring modernization so they had a prosperous future, as there was not oil or other natural resources in his country. But no everyone agrees with what he is doing and unfortunately Lettie ends up right in the middle of it very quickly once she arrives at the palace. But she saves him twice and her reward each time is more than interesting. Alek definitely has a way of meting out his punishment for Lettie not obeying him and she definitely does not obey him.
In the end she captures the heart of her King and in turn becomes the Queen of His Heart.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
