Welcome to the City, London’s most prestigious square mile, where finance reigns and Oliver King is a rising prince.
I used to rule the world.
There might be wolves on Wall Street, but there were crocodiles in Canary Wharf. Some of us craved money. Some of us craved power.
I liked money, and power had its advantages, but what I really wanted was to excel, to surpass the men who came before me. … excel, to surpass the men who came before me. I never cared much for love and romance until I met Alexis.
I could feel it the very moment she walked into the interview, with her outspoken charm and vivacious personality. She cast all the others in shadow, made me laugh when life held no humour. Our friendship should have remained professional, but it wasn’t long before the lines started to blur.
You know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? Well, I never foresaw where my plans would lead, and only in my darkest hour did I finally see the light…
You can have all the money and prestige in the world and still be the poorest man alive. And love, well, I hate to use a tired old cliché, but love can be the thing that truly sets you free.
King of Hearts is standalone romance that tells the story of Oliver King, first encountered in Hearts of Fire. This is the third book in L.H. Cosway’s Hearts series.

What a wonderful story…..I couldn’t put it down. I would have to say it is number one on my all time favorite books.
We first met Oliver King in Hearts of Fire so we knew he’s a BROKEN man with a tortured soul.
We just didn’t know why… How he could have fell so low.
King of Hearts is composed of 2 parts.
The first part: we see King as a confident, successful, handsome, rich and well educated man. The KING of Canary Wharf. He has everything he wants.
“When i was a young man, i was confident, ready to take on any challenge, free of fear.”
Then Oliver meets Alexis, he hires her as his PA. She’s so different, so honest, so clever, witty, funny and gorgeous. Their relationship starts as a kind of friendship but with a lot of sexual tension. Their BANTER made me smile and laugh. They are so PERFECT for each other.
Through the pages we learn more about them, their past, their family… And King’s secrets. But most of all we see King and Alexis find happiness together. He thought he has everything but with her he finds LOVE.
This first part is soooo frustrating. I really enjoyed each chapters, couldn’t put the book down, fell in love with our hero, admired a lot our heroin… But i couldn’t stop wondering when the other shoe would drop… What horrible things would separate them and break him.
“When i was a grown man, i knew the world and i was winning, even though there were worries that tried to drag me down.”
The 2nd part, some years later : Oliver King is a SHADOW of a man, so far from the confident gentleman he was… He lives with his sister, following her and her CIRCUS. Some people from the circus (heroes of the first 2 books) try their best to put him out of his misery but with no success. Alcohol is his best friend…
“When i was an older man, i was broken; the things i thought i’d done had ruined the things i’d left behind.”
Alexis may be the only one who can save him. With her love, with a lot of TLC, with TRUTHS he needs to learn…
They made me cry sooooo much. And felt for them a second time in the same book.
Alexis is brave, selfless, tender, smart, patient… She and King DESERVE their HEA.
King finally gets what he really NEEDS (and not what he thought he wanted).
Their journey is intense, so emotional, full of obstacles but also love… This love story is EPIC !!!
LH Cosway’s writing is beautiful. I loved every detail.
That was also so great to see Jay, Jack, Matilda and Lille (from books 1 & 2).
Plus : Amazing epilogue!
I wish I could give it 10 stars!! King’s story has been my fav <3

LH Cosway did it again, another AMAZING book in the Hearts series. It is just getting and better. I love her writing style so much, it really flows beautifully.
I love that she divided the book in two parts, also love that the first part was the past. I wouldnt have loved the book as much if it was done with flashbacks every other chapter. (I don’t like flashbacks that are intertwined with the present).
Oliver King stole a piece of my heart, he is such a great guy. I LOVED the friendship that grew between Alexis and him at the beginning. They were so awesome together. Alexis is definitely one of my favorite female characters, loved her personality so much. Oliver and Alexis were perfect for eachother.
I don’t want to spoil anything so not going to say much about the second part, which I also loved. It was great seeing the previous characters again in this book. Would love a novella for each couple to revisit them again 😀 Next book will be about Karla (Alexis’ friend) and Lee (who you’ll both meet in this book!!). Lee is very smooth can’t wait to read their story!
I don’t even know if I can put into words how I feel about this book. I didn’t expect to really care for King very much, in all honesty. But it was by far the best story I’ve read in a year. Just something about their story spoke to me in a serious way. I honestly think I need a week or so before I can even move on to another!
Oh man was this story amazing and so well written. Oliver King was a man who was on top and had everything going for him. Alexis was trying to better her life and Oliver gave her that chance. Unfortunate circumstances happen and everything changes in a blink of an eye.
This story completely sucked me right in. I loved the first 2 books in the series and I couldn’t wait to read Oliver’s story. This book didn’t disappoint and I’m very much looking forward to the next one in the series. Out of all 3, I loved this one the most.Eek, it was sooooo good! Loved it hard.
Oh boy! Oliver King perked my curiosity from the get go with his obsession over the picture of the mysterious Alexis. His alcoholism. His wandering. I figured his story would be heart wrenching-and it was-but his victories, those pulled the heart strings so unbelievably tight, I was sucked in from the start. Alexis and Oliver’s second chance romance was a beautiful challenge of love, loss, and acceptance.
I loved this book as much as I have loved all the books in this series. However, it is probably my favorite so far, because it was so raw and emotional. I can’t wait for the next one. I definitely recommend this book and series.
