My first CD Reiss book, but certainly won’t be my last. Impeccable background research (important to me because I’m a nerd) combined with amazing depth of characterization. Altogether fantastic book.
A CD reiss book is always awaited with much expectation and they always leave you satisfied with smart writing and acute observation of human behavious. Then there is her fantastic dry (sometimes sarcasm) humour. Such a joy to read her books.
This one is no different. It takes you to the unexplored digital world of secure-coding. The egos of cretaors vs the Smugness of hackers clashing anonymously in the secret Dark Webs , sometimes being the flies on the wall, sometimes being the flies caught in the web. A very detalied and descriptive account of cyber-web , thoroughly entertaining to watch from afar .
Taylor Harden – The King of Kings is ready to be crowned in 13 days . His creation is QI4 an intelligent security system that is unbreakable, unbreachable.
“The Quantum Four code isn’t even based in binary,The circuits are built on three-dimensional thinking. QuBit. One, zero, random. When the machines are released to Oracle next year, they can open them up and try to reverse engineer, but they won’t. Even the client can’t breach it. If the casing is cracked, the boards self-destruct. They sink and melt.”
Kinda like unsinkable Titanic, and we all know what happened to the titanic !!!
He is a skilled hacker. His reach far beyond the normal geniuses. And virile in both physique and ambitions. Often described as a Once in a generation kind of mind, game changer, harbinger of future
And yet his Titanic sinks..his code breached right before his eyes, in the securer than Fort Knox – Faraday Cage .He cannot believe his eyes. So he delves into the Geohash and pinpoints the hacker living in Nowhere USA in Barrington. A hop, plane and car away, he goes to confront the master dude who threatens his empire…….only he is a She!! * gasp* and a stunner at that!. The battle of wills and wits that follows just completely sweeps the rug from beneath him. The girl far outweighs and surpasses his expectations in both intelligence and skill, yet she’s very compassionate and stubbornly loyal.
The story is quite complex , it will take you a while to get through the techie jargon, and it’s pertaining to the ultra secure computer coding, it does get a bit technical jargon, which had me running to Google to decipher. But reiss’s signature intelligent writing shines as sparkly as ever. Her dry humour is at best
Nobody is stupid enough to do it alone
That’s me. Nobody
The Title is multi dimensional. His life is spent behind a computer deciphering a hacking code. Yet removed from it , thrown in the real world without technology, decoding human behaviour is a challenge of Everest proportions for him
Taylor slowly starts to hack, life, people, relationships around him to decode emotions, heart, fears, courage around him. That is the hidden underlying beauty of the book.
I had a lot going on in my life. I was responsible for the employment of dozens of people, and my life’s work, the work they’d all slaved over, was being held hostage by a crazy woman who’d threatened to sell it. I was in Nowhere, USA, without a car or a cab. My phone was broken and imprisoned by thorns. I was going to get the shit beaten out of me if I wasn’t careful.
The story also touches upon contemporary political and economic crisis we have in the country right now. Very adeptly , reiss creates hardworking , yet struggling small town characters, that are vulnerable and loyal and holding on to familial values to just keep afloat.
“We’re the salt of the earth’s what they say. Them in power, with the money. They stroke us. Jerk us off with some bullshit about how hardworking we are. Tell us we’re the real America. Like we’re stupid. Them fucks set man against man so we can feel like winners, but let me ask you .” He held out his arms and stepped back. “Do I look like a winner to you?”
It’s a pretty stark and poignant picture she shows us of our current volatile climate . Hats off to her . These kind of stories go on to become timeless. And after all the struggles, frustrations he finally manages to get to the heart of the complex protected puzzle
What mattered was the wrong question anyway.
Who mattered? That was the question.
Who mattered?
Ain’t that the truth !
I don’t need to say that the writing is super excellent, thoroughly researched and acutely detailed, I had to learn new things to keep up with it. Very enjoyable read and unique in its theme.
4.5 Goose & Beeze stars
Christine never ceases to amaze me with the complex, convoluted, multilayered stories she writes. It is obvious that she put a lot of time and effort into the research for this book. Either that, or she is really a NY Times bestselling author by day, and a closet super hacker by night.
There’s two stories going on in this book. One story is how Taylor Harden, the king of Silicon Valley, gets hacked right before he is getting ready to unveil his new revolutionary software code that is going to change the tech world. How he travels to Nowhere, USA to catch the hacker and force them to unlock his code in time to unveil it at a huge tech convention. Nothing goes as he plans, and his world is upended by the most unlikely of suspects.
The second story is about Taylor meeting a woman, not for the first time although he doesn’t remember their first encounter. How this woman turns out to be someone he was never looking for, never even thought of having in his life. But very quickly after meeting her, he realizes he hasn’t truly been living, and now can’t picture his life without her in it.
The genius that is Christine is how she manages to weave these two storylines together. It’s in how she transports us to this nowhere town of Barrington, and creates a whole town with a rich history, unique and colorful characters who do some wild and crazy stuff, who somehow endear themselves to the reader so that you want to know everything about them. But mostly it’s how significant the relationship is between Taylor and Harper, the woman he came to this town to ruin, but ends up falling in love with.
I have to admit, there was a lot of technical jargon in this book. Lots of lingo that hackers and coders use, and oftentimes I felt downright stupid for not understanding what they were talking about. But I slogged through that stuff because although it was a huge part of the book, it wasn’t the most important part. Not to me anyway. So if you’re technically illiterate like I am, some parts of the book might feel over your head, but keep going because the love story between it all is worth the ride.
CD Reiss has knocked it out of the park once again. She is on my very short list of one click authors. Every time I think she’s destroyed my heart once and for all, wringing every last bit of emotion out of me, she comes up with another story that does it all over again. This time it’s a modern love story in a town out of time in every sense of the word. Taylor and Harper – words can’t describe the beauty of their mutual seduction. They make each other better people.
Taylor Harden is a black hat gone legit.
Cocksure.
Brilliant.
Aloof.
Bulletproof.
Or so he thinks.
With the release of his new unhackable system QI4, Taylor is flying close to the sun, teetering on the brink of world domination or humiliating failure, daring the dark web to take him down. That is until a hacker serves up that dare to him and clips his wings. It is in his fall to earth that he learns a great deal about life; about love; about what truly makes success.
Harper Barrington.
Small town princess.
Big time Hacker.
The woman who utterly schools him in every way.
She is an amazing, fierce, willful, and slightly crazy young woman. Brilliant in every way: intellectually, physically, and, most of all, emotionally, thanks to her crystal pure heart. She is more than a match for him.
They think they’re in the fight of their lives for things they hold dear. But a funny thing happens while they are playing each other. Love plays them both. Their battle of wits turns into seduction, and then love. Harper and Taylor’s first time together is off the charts. Sexy, smart and sweet with a little bit of small town crazy. You’ll be smoking a cigarette at the end of the scene.
King of Code has got to be Reiss’ best yet. She’s managed to make the story of a Steve Jobsian hacker brat into this epic love story and commentary on American community and society. But don’t let that description scare you off because this story is hot, hot, hot. Taylor and Harper’s eccentric, tentative courtship is so full of heart and ultimately, joy. Despite Taylor’s best efforts to keep things transactional and at arm’s length, he falls and falls HARD.
When you pick up a CD Reiss book you always know the writing will be crackling with banter and lyrical in a way that it affects all of your senses. King of Code is no different. Ms. Reiss spins her tale in the cloak and dagger work rooms of Silicon Valley and the mythic company town of Barrington, quintessential small town USA. And she populates them both with an assortment of characters who are sure to touch your heart. You will fall in love with every one of them, from Harper’s sister Catherine, who is a tragic heroine straight out of a Tennessee Williams play, to Johnny the town watchmaker, tinkerer and Harper’s partner in crime. Keaton, Taylor’s black hat friend who is either slightly eccentric or certifiable, depending on the day. Raven, Taylor’s right hand, struggling to make a place for herself at the table as a woman in Silicon Valley. They are secondary characters so artfully and emotionally drawn that you will want to know every one of their stories.
I have no doubt that this book will affect you. The true love story is about the love the citizens of Barrington have for the lives they’ve built and for each other. Ms. Reiss writes lovingly about a small town American way of life that has gone by the wayside never to return, and the people on death watch living out their lives as their town dies. In a way, the story is fiercely political in an apolitical way. Yes it’s a love story, but more importantly, it’s about our ability to save ourselves and each other, if we just allow ourselves to feel and share that love. At the end of it all, it’s truly a love letter to our best selves.
5 stars
I compare Reiss’ writing with chocolate. Once the first nibble’s been savoured, devouring it in one go is a foregone conclusion. In King of Code, there isn’t much difference in the respect that she pulled this reader in fast and furiously making me want more. In contrast, she’s in no hurry to conclude. Her little teasers and details of interest whetted my appetite for what was to come. Of course, the story didn’t pan out as I would have expected it to, so finding out how her protagonists tale of deception would close was foremost on my mind. And I have to add that I was dreadfully spoilt with two endings! For me, this book was like jumping on a rollercoaster of emotions crisscrossed with facts. Fictitious or not, they’re thrown from all angles, making me wonder if she can actually decode. I thought I was a dab hand at being able to read an HTML doc but boy, am I right out of my depth or what! Therefore the title couldn’t be more apt since decoding or better said, hacking a system, is exactly what the cornerstone of this love story with a twist and a half is all about. In this era of technology, what occurs is perfectly feasible and although the geek-speak used might be a tad difficult to grasp, I drunk in every word. I’d even go so far as saying that if your men like this kind of thing, encourage them to read it!
“You hacked me, and you set this whole thing up so I’d fall in love with you. Right? Say it.”
“It’s not that simple.”
He is the KING. At the pinnacle of becoming the one and only person who is going to be able to crack it, what Taylor is about to achieve will be his to possess. A web of lies entwined in an unbreakable operating network brought home the vulnerability of not only the hacked but in this case, also the hacker. The stress caused by nail-biting scenarios didn’t give me time to come up for air; it’s a constant bombardment of feelings which had me on the edge at all times. Oh my, I hope this isn’t a spoiler because blinkin’ heck, Taylor’s personal gadgets drove me round the bend!
“I guess I can’t blame you. I’m a statistical outlier.”
“I love it when you talk dirty.”
I liked Taylor one hell of a lot and connected to him easily. Indubitably a nerd, he’s really your normal kind of guy who works hard, plays little and is considered to be the best in his field. For now, it goes undisputed. Will it be? I didn’t think he excelled in controlling the critical intricacies of which you will decide for yourselves. On the other hand, he relies heavily on his hand-picked team for the birth of a complex code to run without hitches. To my mind of thinking, he was a tad too trustworthy with the wrong people. His no women in the cage attitude was of no surprise seeing that the ratio of the female workforce in megatech companies is low. Yeah, I found this out by consulting Google and for that matter, the author’s vocabulary had me studying a hacker’s dictionary! Nonetheless, there is one lady who I adored, but she doesn’t count. Or does she? On the crux of his biggest breakthrough, everyone who works for Taylor; myself included, were left aghast when an unknown source opens up a beehive of malicious activity. Who has the capability to do as such, remains to be seen. For sure, the answer is more complicated than the mere element of destruction!
“What do you want?”
“A lot.”
Even though it’s not Harper’s story to tell, for me, she owned it! She’s everything I look for in a heroine. A true fighter, exceptionally intelligent, I found her unwavering perseverance totally befitting with her persona. She has a soft side though. Her benevolence towards family and friends stands out throughout the read. A natural protector, she too is protected. The manner in which the author has highlighted the outcome of a certain social issue made me sit back and think about the gravity of it and how lives were affected. Seeing as Harper is how she is, it only seemed natural for her to take this grave matter into her own hands. A matter that has more means to an end than I could have ever imagined. Whether the operation carried out by a force to be reckoned with is effective enough to dethrone the king who has yet to be crowned is your question to ask. Not mine to answer.
“Women are not subtle. If they’re not one-hundred-percent crystal clear, it’s because they don’t know, not because they’re being elusive or enigmatic or call it what you will.”
Taking into consideration King of Code’s technical content, this novel might not be everyone’s cuppa. I, personally, found it intriguing, unputdownable and cursed any kind of interruption. I couldn’t wait to see how the king would go about convincing the woman who stole his heart and more besides, to be his queen…and in the most unlikely of places at that. Laughing to myself here; the name won’t be forgotten quickly. The author’s writing style is unquestionably versatile, her skill in contrasting character traits, sublime. This is Reiss; therefore there’s no need to mention the scorching hot scenes, is there? And the finale… fan-bloody-tastic! Bravo!
“What kind of attack were you thinking of doing?”
“I was going to just put something in the comments to taunt you.”
Really enjoyed reading this book. I love the story and writing. I loved every second of this book. Five star read
CD Reiss has a brilliant mind. I am so in love with King of Code. It just might be my new favorite from her. Taylor and Harper are smart, funny, sexy, and perfect. The town of Barrington and the people who live there are described in such detail that I feel as if I’ve been there and I know them. I don’t know anything about computers except how to turn them on, but I was enthralled by the entire plot of hacking and codes. It was beautifully done. I am excited for Keaton’s book and Catherine’s novella. One of my top reads of 2017 for sure!!
“King of Code” is fun and thrilling with lots of twists and turns and a story line rooted very much in the second half of the 2010’s. I couldn’t put it down, reading FAR too late into the night. (Sidenote: I know that I’m “too” into a book when my sig-o complains, and he definitely voiced a couple of complaints while I was reading KOC.)
I would define this book as an “erotic thriller with romantic elements.” Although it’s been decades since I read Michael Crichton’s 1994 book “Disclosure,” it definitely reminded me of it with its high-stakes chess game of tech dominance, which shared the stage equally with the underlying romance. The chemistry between the protagonists is both sweet and hot (a hard balance to strike!) and the plot keeps you guessing until the very end. Highly recommend!
CD Reiss is the queen of romance and drama. There hasn’t been one book of hers that hasn’t sucked me in and left me feeling like my heart was ripped out and put back. King of Code was no exception.
Taylor has built a program that can’t be hacked, except when it is. When he follows the clues the hacker left he finds himself in a town with nothing to offer but one thing, Harper. Taylor is stuck there until he finds out who hacked him and what they want from him. The one thing he wasn’t counting on was Harper.
Harper is too good for this town but she feels obligated to stay and try to get the town thriving again. When Taylor finds out some things about Harper it leaves him conflicted about what to do, protect the girl he’s falling for or fix his company.
Gosh I can’t say enough good things about this book. I will say some of it was predictable but it didn’t make the story any less. I can’t wait to read about the other characters that have books coming out. If you haven’t picked up a CD Reiss book, shame on you and get out from under that rock you’re living in!! Reviewer for Bloggin With M. Brennan
A little twisty, a lot funny, and full of fun characters. Enter the world of code and hackers as it collides with small-town quirks and conspiracy.
Well edited.
Taylor is on the cusp of technological world domination. (If you read this, you’ll see what I did there!) Days away from unveiling a revolution in how technology works, Taylor finds himself in the middle of a locked room mystery with his tech held hostage. As he races to find the hacker and save his masterpiece from crashing before it has even launched, he finds himself in a dying small town in the middle of nowhere. In less than 24 hours, he is stranded and at the mercy of Harper – who appears to be nothing more than a kind stranger offering help. However, as we all know, looks can be deceiving. Harper has crossed paths with Taylor in the past. She is responsible for the hack, and has an agenda. As the days to the unveiling of the new tech dwindle, will Taylor be able to find out the how and why of the hack? Will he be able to get Harper to release his code and launch his new tech? Will they find common ground? What motivates Harper? Love? Hate? Revenge? Something else? All of the above?
This was really pretty fast-paced and intriguing. The cast of characters was full of good-hearted and unique personalities. While the main story did wrap up fairly well, the last bit left a cliffhanger as to what will happen with Keaton. Looking forward to reading his story next! Enjoy.
Boring
Not exactly sure where to start with this one, as it was different than expected. I decided to tackle this as the next of my enormous TBR of free e-books because the author is supposed to be at Book Bonanza last year. I really did like this book a lot. I’m afraid that my mini-review may not come off that way however. First of all, it was all done from the male viewpoint, and I feel like so many romances are usually done either all from the female point of view, or go back and forth between them, not just the man’s story. So that took me off guard a bit at first. But in a way that was refreshing and made the story even more interesting to read and kept my attention for that uniqueness. It was a very dirty, sexy book. You have to really be okay with that to enjoy it. I know that there were a few things I didn’t like, for example, the noises that it had Harper making. Sure, sure, I know that real noises during sex are weird sounding, there is even a line in the movie Dogma that makes me laugh because of how true it is. However I kind of feel like in a romance, we can make the noises a little less realistic? Maybe? Just me? Oh well. Not a biggie. And then I did feel like it was just one thing after another, piled on top of each other until the tower was ready to fall and upset every little bit they’d built up and created. Overall a good book, and I look forward to reading more by this author, as well as meeting them next August at BB19.
King of Code is an engaging game of cat and mouse. Author C.D. Reiss has infused the opening chapters with the life-like tension involved in every high tech rollout since Hewlett, Packard, Woz, and Jobs started crafting sci-fi-like innovations in their Palo Alto garages. Beyond a couple small gripes that I will share later, I really enjoyed this book. The references to the stress and tension in the valley couldn’t have been truer. The big egos, the competition, and the high stakes all felt genuine.
Ms. Reiss has peppered the story with commentary on the plight of the rust belt as well as the divergent views of the haves and have-nots. Much of the story takes place in the town of Barrington, which typifies the plight of the rust belt. It is a small town that is dying a slow, painful death since the one factory (and main job source) shut down. The remaining inhabitants are forgotten or written off as stupid, lazy rubes. I loved how Ms. Reiss showed that one’s prejudice about a group influences acceptance of an individual from “that” group, and how getting to know the individual from said group can make him/her more acceptable. I especially loved that this calling out happened on both sides of the haves and have-nots. The inhabitants of Barrington are just as ready to judge Taylor as he is ready to judge them.
Equally interesting additions to the story are the ideas of (1) Taylor’s current situation being a result of his prior, questionable actions (karma), (2) Taylor’s up-bring and how that helps to change his perceptions, (3) Penance for someone else’s misdeeds, (4) the Townies’ complete loyalty to the Barrington sisters, and (5) the comparison of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Blue Carbuncle to Harper’s activities. These little gems are deftly woven into the story and revealed as Taylor and Harper play their cards.
Taylor and Harper are great characters. Both are wicked smart, but only one has powerful connections. One had humble beginnings and one has fallen on hard times. Together, they’re an interesting story. Taylor thinks very highly of himself, but it is really Harper who is in complete control. She outplays him until he is lulled into complacency and accepts her apparent guilelessness. Or is it love? Who knows? However, Harper is the wake-up call Taylor needs. He’s read the hype on his genius one time too many, but being stuck in Barrington, forces Taylor to take stock of his life and reassess his goals and motivations.
San Jose and Silicon Valley are my hometown, and I appreciated some of the references to the area. There is the obvious Tesla, and the less well known, but locally iconic, Scott’s Seafood—a long time business lunch location. As a local, my two beefs are the use of “SanJo” and “Cali”. Longtime residents refer to San Jose as “downtown” (as opposed to “the city” which is San Francisco), and more recent-to-the-area locals use SJ, or DTSJ. SanJo is “outsider” slang that is equivalent to using Frisco in reference to San Francisco. Same with Cali; sadly, the rapper reference is gaining in popularity with non-natives. While use of “SanJo” and “Cali” are like nails on a chalkboard to me, perhaps the use is fitting since main character Taylor Harden is not necessarily a native who saw the main “crop” change from apricots and prunes to microchips and code.
Ms. Reiss draws her readers into both the fast paced life in Silicon Valley where conspicuous spending is a broadcast of your success as well as to middle America where friendship and loyalty are measures of one’s success. This skillfully spun story is a suspenseful race against the clock. The potential scope of involvement and the motivation of the players will keep you guessing as to who is the true ruler of the QI4 code.
3.5 – 4 stars
When a hacker locks him out of a system he designed, former black hat Taylor goes on the hunt. What he finds is beautiful Harper and her quirky family. A little different read but still a good story with chemistry,a little mystery and terrific characters.
Wow, this book will take you in so many twists that you’ll get dizzy
Taylor and Harper will take you on as suspenseful journey and an emotional roller coaster. The world of computers and top notch hackers. White hats and black hats. Suspense and drama are in full swing. You’ll get caught up in the back and forth banter between Harper and Taylor. He’s the King of code and a hacker and she’s a hacker that hacked into his unhackable system. Little did he know that his pursuit of her would turn into so much more. Wow, this book will take you in so many twists that you’ll get dizzy. Great characters and an entertaining story.

Taylor had fought hard to get his company going just like Bill Gates one of Kings. He knew that shortly he will be one of those Kings. Taylor new system that was supposed to be hack proofed had been hacked. After a little investigation they found out that the hacker was in a place called Barrington. Taylor goes there looking for the hacker until he saw the town he just couldn’t believe that the hacker could live there. Taylor was looking for a place to eat and sees a restaurant but it was out of business. He hears someone behind him asking who he was looking for. Taylor turns around and sees this beautiful girl he asked her where the closest hotel around. He pulls out his phone but she told him that the reception in the area was poor. Harper told him he could use the phone in the convenient store but he told her just give the name of the place. He sees a message set in red from the top of the roof. Harper keeps playing Taylor then she tells him she will give him little bites information about how she managed to take down his new program. Taylor is starting to really freak he needed to get his program up and running to save his company. Harper told him what she wanted and at that point he would give anything to get the rest of the code. Taylor has been jumping through hoops and it felt like forever but only been a week. Slowly but surely Harper gave him bits of code. Finally Taylor gets to call his co-worker and gives him the code. When he puts the code in another screen comes up telling them if they attempt to get in the program it will be locked. Harper tells him it was not her that put in the screen information. Things seem to good fro bad to worse as Harper made him jump through hoops. There are a lot of twists, turn and event that keeps you turning the pages to see what will happen next.
.
I never knew being a geek was so interesting, or that geeks were so sexy hot!! This book is exciting, full of wonderful characters and full of lies and intrigue.
Taylor Hardin is about to become a software king. He’ll have everything he ever wanted, until hacker, Harper Barrington, breaks his code, the code that could not be broken, and brings Taylor to his knees as well as to her doorstep.
This is an off the wall story with lots of quirky characters in a town full of love and despair and only one person can save them all. I’d give it ten stars if I could.
Taylor and Harper have hacked their way into hearts and minds everywhere. Taylor has no doubt in his mind that he will be the on top of the world and all will bow down before him. In order to be the greatest you have to believe your own hype and he is definitely buying his own press. His baby the QI4 will be revolutionize the market and to prove his claims he has made Titanic type claims on the code. When the “unhackable” code gets hacked he goes into scramble mode to get his system back before true launch leading to the seemingly ghosted town of Barrington. He expects to find some cheetos eating basement dwelling techy genius that played his system like a fiddle, but what he finds is a beauty that has brains and some hidden purpose for bringing down his empire. Harper Barrington wants to save her failing town and hoped that the media would be the ones to answer her hacker calling card. If Taylor wants his precious QI4 back Harper has quite the quid pro quo in mind – for each code she unlocks for him he will have teach her just the tricks of the pleasure trade. The reasons behind her knowledge exchange are a mystery and as much as Tyler want to unlock his baby he want to unravel this quagmire of a woman even more.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not because the reviews are either liked it or didn’t, there’s really no in between. I’m so glad I read it myself, I found it fascinating. The whole hacker premise was really cool and it was fun to read. Throw in all the other crazy and I really couldn’t wait to find out how it ended. I’m totally digging all the other characters and can’t wait to read their stories.
I have been a huge CD Reiss fan since I discovered her and this book, King of Code is going to be a more un-traditional of reviews. Let me start off by staying, I loved this book. It’s intrigue and it’s mystery. It was a bit tough starting out and trying to follow the computer/hacker world lingo, but by the 2nd or 3rd chapter I was into it so deep that I found it fun and challenging to read. Sometimes I pictured in my own mind what they were talking about when I didn’t know and made things up myself, which added a surprising new element to reading a book.
This book follows Taylor and Harper. Taylor is our King in this book. He’s on top of the world. About to release a code to the world that will put him at the top of his game. That is, until he’s hacked. He goes from the top to the very bottom in a matter of seconds and his whole empire and world threatens to crumble around him. At this point he must go after the hacker who is holding his code. What he doesn’t expect is to stumble into a small town and find the hacker in the way he does. When he gets to the small town he’s welcomed by Harper. Cute, young and very much a challenge to him. She leads him around town and soon things start to fall into place in a way he could have never pictured. But what is she after?
I can’t get into much more without giving away major plot points, but let me tell you this book is packed with so many things that make it a one of a kind read. Christine has ventured out on a limb with this one away from what her readers are use too, and she has succeeded in pulling off such a great twisting mystery mixed with romance. This book was a quick read for me and I can’t wait to see where else she goes next in her writing.
