Falcon: Three years ago I arrived at the scene of an art heist to find Kingston Wilde tied to a radiator, claiming to be an innocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was only later I learned he was actually the elusive art thief I’d been tracking for years. And I was the one who’d let him sweet-talk his way out of my grasp. Ever since, I’ve made it my mission to get my hands on … hands on him again, and this time I don’t plan on letting go.
Unfortunately, fate has other plans. A priceless artifact has gone missing, and King is the only one who can help recover it. I thought nothing could be worse than being forced to work with the egotistical SOB, but I was wrong. Falling for the charming art thief in the middle of an operation is way, way worse.
King:The key to being a good art thief is knowing when to call it quits. After one close call too many, I decide that time is now and head home to Hobie, Texas, intending to hang up my lock picks for good. Unfortunately, the FBI has other plans. Agent Dirk Falcon approaches me with an offer I can’t refuse: full immunity for my past crimes in exchange for helping him with one last job.
The catch? The job involves stealing from the very man who taught me everything I know. The same man who double-crossed me years ago. Pulling this off means trusting Falcon and his team, but how do I trust the sexy agent when he’s staked his career on taking me down?

I loved this action packed read full of one liners and heaps of steamy chemistry! A really sizzling read with complex characters and a dynamic storyline – it is hard to put down, you’ll want to put some time aside to read it in one sitting.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I really enjoyed this book but it’s hard to beat Doc and Grandpa’s story so any book would be a hard act to follow. King has only been featured briefly in the other Forever Wilde books, is quite mysterious and to finally find out why since he’s actually an international art thief. I’m really glad there was a reason he became an art thief because it seems extremely out of character for a Wilde since they’re an amazing loving family. He was basically tempted into it by his mentor and partner in both regards Elek Kemény who ended up betraying him two years ago when they were on the Van Gough job as King had started questioning the jobs that Elek was suggesting which were from his approved list of high targets, he bashed King over the head and zipped tied him to a radiator before leaving him there and setting the alarms off on purpose so the cops would come. Agent Falcon from the FBI showed up along with the cops so King played the clueless victim so Agent Falcon let him go not even realising that he was Le Chaton whom Agent Falcon and his team had been after for awhile. For the next two years King has been breaking in and stealing priceless artefacts that he knew Elek wanted but then he’d either just move them to another part of the building with a note so they’d know that it could be stolen so they’d then beef up their security or he’d return them to their rightful owners like if the artefacts were stolen in WW2. He was trying to right his wrongs as well as trying to get revenge on Elek using him. Yes, it’s really unbelievable that King could be an international art thief and know so much about art, forgery etc at such a young age but this is a book of fiction so it doesn’t bother me how not true some of the details are.
When the FBI mainly Agent Falcon let King go he got demoted so him and his team have been trying to catch Le Chaton in the act since then with no luck since technically he never stole anything he just moved the artefacts and they didn’t have any proof that he’d ever stolen anything. They know that the Crown of Hungary has been stolen, well a forgery as the US has the original so they need King’s help. To say there’s a lot of tension when Agent Falcon shows up at Doc and Grandpa’s wedding to get King for a job is an understatement and to make matters worse King agrees to go with him but then bails so when an angry Agent Falcon shows up on his team plane he’s shocked that King is on the plane. King is offered immunity for all his prior crimes for his help to retrieve the Crown of Hungary. Agent Falcon and King butt heads constantly to start with but as they slowly start to open up to each other, letting their walls down and being vulnerable it’s amazing to see and they both have to learn to trust each other which is an extremely hard thing to do for both of them. Agent Falcon is exactly what King needs, someone dominant but also extremely trusting and caring. I liked that this book’s plot was all about stealing and returning the Crown of Hungary back to the Hungarian people as it was exciting and action packed. Wow, there were a few twists that I really wasn’t expecting and thought that Lucy wrapped up this book nicely. I’m really looking forward to reading Cal’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
(AUDIOBOOK REVIEW)
This is book 7 in the Forever Wilde series and can be read as a standalone.
This follows the story of the very elusive King who is an art thief and Falcon the man who is bent on catching him.
The author doesn’t reveal too much about King or his profession in the previous books and I was eagerly waiting for his story.
Michael Dean has performed an exceptional audio delivery which made this even more enjoyable to listen too.
If you like a sweet enemies to lovers romance with all the feels of the Wilde Family, I definitely recommend this!
This was fun.
What instantly drew me to this book was the fact that our main character was a criminal, an art thief at that. I knew this had the potential to be great.
Kingston has been a wanted criminal for years. When his boyfriend and partner in crime suddenly betrays him and causes King to almost get caught, he decides it’s the perfect time to quit.
Falcon has been searching for his art thief for years, when he realized it’s a King, a man he met a few years back, he is thoroughly annoyed at the fact he let him get away. But when a priceless artifact is stolen, he needs the help of Le Chaton, the elusive thief.
I adored King and Falcon’s relationship. The progression from enemies to lovers to also friends made me giddy. I thought King was a complex character. Learning about the way he became a thief, to quitting, and to eventually working with the FBI was a trip.
I also really liked Falcon’s co-workers. They brought humor and charisma to the story. The story was filled with heists and scheming. I liked that the quiet and slow moments were few and far between.
Overall, this was a funny and fast-paced romance. While this is the 7th book in the series, it can 100% be read as a standalone.
I love Lucy Lennox! If you haven’t read Lucy, you are missing out. BUY THE BOOK!
King Me is book 7 in the Forever Wilde series and it can be read as a standalone, which is what I did. Still, I think reading the series in order might provide a higher level of enjoyment as there are many recurring characters.
King was a fascinating character, sort of a modern Robin Hood, intent on righting some wrongs from his past as an art thief before retiring from good after his ex screwed him during their last job together. Dirk Falcon is the FBI lead agent tasked with capturing the elusive Le Chaton (King), who has already escaped from him once and who he needs help from to evade a diplomatic nightmare after King’s ex stole the Holy Crown of Hungary. Of course, sparks flow between them and attraction explodes, even if trust is something they might need to work on as King and Falcon’s team set things in order to get the crown back to its rightful place.
I hadn’t read the previous books in the series before King Me fell into my grubby little hands and you can believe I’ll work through the others asap because I loved Doc, Grandpa, MJ and the rest of the Wilde clan. They were so much fun and so supportive of King, despite not really knowing what he was up to.
The heist portion was very well thought out and I loved how realistic it felt, especially King’s reactions to facing Elek (King’s twat of an ex) after what had happened between them. And I couldn’t get enough of King’s interactions with Falcon, who just couldn’t seem to be as professional with King as he was supposed to be. This was definitely a book I will read again, maybe after I catch up with all the rest in the series. 😉
Very recommendable!
Lucy did a wonderful job at bringing us some suspense into our Wilde Family. I did NOT expect King to be flawed and needing redemption. To pull off romance while keeping to the flow of the suspense can be hard but Lucy has pulled it off amazingly and could truly create a series with some of these characters.
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Forever Wilde series!!! I really enjoy a good mystery/spy book and this author knocked it out of the park!!! I loved the fact that this story was not like any other books she has written….one of my favorites to date. We get to know King better and the reasoning why he was so mysterious. Falcon oh my word that man….he was the perfect mixture of tough, fierce, demanding, yet sensitive, caring and oh so well daddy like (wink wink) they were so good for each other. Their story made me laugh, swoon (like serious swoon sigh), and shed a tear or two. I loved this book so much and I highly recommend it to all. I can’t wait to see what this talented author comes out with next….well done!!!!
This book… I cannot get over how well-planned tis whole thing was. Lucy Lennox planned this book the way King would plan a heist: precise, with incredible detail and passion.
That said, Falcon and King… Holy shit, kill me with sweetness and revive me with sexiness… This book has it ALL. EVERY LITTLE THING.
I loved, loved, LOVED the entire feel of this book! The story about an extraordinary thief and a tenacious federal agent forced to work together and then falling not only into bed but in love with each other guaranteed that tensions–sexual and otherwise–would be high and they totally were! King and Falcon had issues with trust, and it wasn’t solely due to the fact that they saw one another as adversaries. This story and these characters gave me the same feels as two of my all-time favorite heist movies–both the 1968 and 1999 versions of The Thomas Crown Affair–even if they don’t share the same plot. It has to do with that constant thrum of enthrallment, to the point that I found myself fully immersed in the story and in the outcome of the relationship between the main characters as well as some of the supporting characters. The pacing of the story and the development of the characters along with the historical background of the missing artifact had me smitten with and invested in King Me. Five-plus stars.
I didn’t know how to react when I heard the premise for King Me. A Wilde that’s a criminal? How can this be? This goes against everything that I believe the Wildes stand for! Plus, I have never enjoyed a main character being a criminal, especially in a romance. I find it hard to trust the character when they live their life being deceitful. I was wary, but I have learned to trust this author. She hasn’t failed me yet.
Kingston Wilde is a lovely, complicated character. His time spent on the wrong side of the law damaged him in very personal ways, but he ended up stronger in the end. His sense of right and wrong no longer fits into perfect little boxes but hang messily over the edges in a confusing, colorful array. He helped me and Falcon to see that laws and criminality are sometimes not as cut and dried as we would have it. He has sought his “specialness” most of his life, but didn’t realize that the ones who care about him love his as he is, not as he wants to be.
I enjoyed the extra time with the Wildes, especially the chance to get to know MJ better. There is always a laugh or a hug to be had from that crew.
Dirk Falcon (bow chicka wow wow) is a strong character that I had to grow to love. He is rigid and grumpy, not to excess, but enough to resist the draw of King for a while. His adherence to the letter of the law put him and King at odds but their feelings for each other won out in the end. As the book progressed, his character became more defined even as his beliefs shifted to include King and his outlooks into his new idea of what life means to him.
Both characters are sexy and confident in their physical prowess, one being more dominant and the other more submissive. But there is no BDSM in this book. I just want to make that clear. There is sexy, spicy one on one time with these guys that will make your eyeballs sweat and heart race. Mmmm.
The underlying story, the caper/heist, is interesting and well written. I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nails through those action packed, suspenseful pages. The fast pace kept me engaged and the planning and lead up to the job was just as interesting as the job itself.
I enjoyed meeting Falcon’s crew. They are appealing characters who play off the main characters very well but retain their own unique personalities. Mouse is my favorite.
Start to finish, this is a good book. It has something for everyone. I look forward to more from this author.
King and Dirk get all my stars. This was my favorite Wilde book with the continuous humor from King and the broodiness of Falcon. Zig, Mouse and Linney were perfect secondary characters along with MJ and the rest of the Wilde crew. I loved this book so much and highly recommend this and the entire series.
King Me follows one of the lesser known Wilde boys, Kingston Wilde.
This book is a great addition to the Mrs Lennox’s Forever Wilde series. It’s fast pace and packed full of banter, adventure and passion.
The unlikely pairing of an art thief and an FBI agent makes for a great storyline.
I enjoyed Falcon’s team members and hope that we get to see more of them in future books.
As always, Mrs Lennox’s writing is on point and the feels and chemistry between the characters believable.
I’m so looking forward to reading more about those Wilde boys!!!
With each book in the Wilde series I always think “this was the best one yet”, until the next of course! However, King’s story was amazing! This has everything and you’ve come to expect of Lucy’s amazing writing. There was so much mystery, action, suspense, intrigue, and scheming I couldn’t put it down! Oh and the sexy times?! The off the charts chemistry with King and Falcon will leave you fanning yourself. Holy hotness! I couldn’t imagine a better story and HEA for King and Falcon! I loved getting to know MJ a little more in this book. King and Falcon’s HEA will leave you saying “Awwww”. If you’re looking for your next “I can’t put down this book read”, this is it.
I absolutely loved this cat & mouse classic heist/FBI story so much! It is reminiscent of the classic move To Catch A Thief.
King won my heart with all his vulnerability, sweetness and humor. The dynamics between King and by the book FBI agent Falcon is heart meltingly sweet, sexy and priceless.
This story takes you on a ride full of intrigue, danger, conflict, revenge, hope, trust and love. I got swept up in the journeyto King and Falcon’s HEA.
The secondary characters are worthy of their own stories. I need more Mouse! Getting to visit again with Doc and Grampa is wonderful. The epilogue is perfect, giving us a chance to visit with the Wilde family. I can’t wait for the next story in this amazing series.
King Me is a Forever Wilde novel by Lucy Lennox.. and it is amazing! The story has drama, suspense, action, humor, sweetness and steam. It is a truly interesting story that grabs your attention and takes you on the Wilde ride. Falcon and King are great characters that you fall in love with. Enemies to lovers type of love story for sure. This is a reread worthy book for me. Definitely a 5 star rating from me.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
