They say there’s a thin line between love and hate. So what happens when there is no love in the equation, only raw, all consuming lust? For Christian Hunt and Gabriella King, it was hate at first sight and over the years, things have only gotten progressively worse! Insults fly like arrows through the air, as they let each other know exactly how much they really dislike one another. But when a … But when a temporary truce is called, a spur of the moment gesture brings out an unexpected reaction and they both struggle to go back to the hate they’ve always known.
When the line between lust and hate begins to blur, what will that leave?
This is a fun and dirty enemy to lovers story, intended for readers 18+ due to adult language, sexual content, and adult situations. So switch your mind off and lose yourself in this naughty world for a little while. This is a Novella, so its quick and steamy read!

King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is my first book by this author. It was a great story to get to know Brienne Dubh. This was a short hot, steamy, lust/hate story. The characters have great chemistry together. Brienne Dubh does an amazing bringing this story alive. I have always heard that there is a fine line between love/hate, but I did see a line between lust/hate for sure. Christian and Gabrella had that relationship. There was always a love/hate relationship until one day. Christian and Gabrella let their guard down and bam that is when the steamy part of the story began. There are so many questions but the main one I think is important is Will Christian and Gabrella go back to their love/hate relationship? I recommend you read this story to find this out.
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh
This was a true lust/ hate story, the chemistry between Chriatian and Gabby was crazy from the moment we met them. They hated each other with a strong passion and only played nice as a favor to his sister Amy who also happens to be her best friend. Neither of them realized this was the beginning of a new phase.
I couldn’t believe how quick of a read this book was. I think there could have been a little more to their story, not sure if I would have liked to see it more in the middle of the end.
I plan to keep an eye out for additional books by this author since she is new to me and liked this story.
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh
Four Stars
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story is the first book I have read by Brienne Dubh. This is a really fantastic, sexy, fun read. The characters are believable and the dialogue is witty and fun. Christian and Gabriella have some wicked chemistry going on. This was a most enjoyable way to spend my afternoon. I hope to read some more book by Ms. Dubh in the near future.
This was my first experience with this author. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Overall, it was a decent read. I was a bit disappointed that the initial heated friction between the two main characters was over fairly quickly. However, the way the last part of the story played out kind of made up for it. This is definitely set up as more of a short story feel. I finished it fairly quickly. This book would be a great read if you are waiting somewhere and need a distraction. It’s just entertaining enough to keep you from getting bored, but no so deep in story line that you’ll miss something if you have to stop reading. A solid 4 stars.
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is an enjoyable quick read. Christian and Gabby have had a hate/hate relationship since meeting each other at school years previously. Unfortunately for them, Gabby is best friends with Christians twin sister so there is no escape for either of them. Once the pair decide to call a truce for an evening, they discover that they feel more than just loathing between them but is one evening enough? This is a fun, enemies to lover’s romance that manages to tell the story without feeling too rushed. Would really recommend if you are looking for a steamy story with a few laughs on the way. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story was a great 5 star read.
Gabriella is at her besties birthday party and is surprised when she finds out that Christian was in town for the party. Christian is her bestie’s twin brother and he hates her. These two have never gotten along, even when they were all still in high school. I would say him and his buddies were downright cruel.
They both agree to try and get along while at the celebration. When she has had her fill and decides to head to her hotel room, Gabriella is shocked to see her ex walking into the hotel and in her direction. Christian who is also calling it a night does something that completely blows her away. And it was hot as heck. His action spurs some intense attraction that neither of them can deny and agree to one night.
Can they keep it to one night?
Overall this was a great enemies to lovers read. I really liked Gabriella, Christian and Amy. I had some LOL moments with these two. There are some secrets revealed that added a great element to the story and gave it a great twist. I would love to see more from these two. If you’re looking for a great read, 1-click and get started today.
One of favorite tropes, enemies to lovers. What happens when what you thought for years is changed after one conversation?
Gabby and Christian have hated each other since before they ever even met, and Christians twin sister who is also Gabby’s best friend, is stuck in the middle trying to keep the peace.
When Christian comes to town for their birthday, things change and that’s when the sparks fly and it leads to some steamy scenes.
I wanted more! This author captured me from the get go.
King & Hunt by Brienne Dubh a fancy four-star read. This is quick and easy to read and filled with feisty drama and is so hot it may burn your fingers when you touch it. There is so much hate in this story that you can taste the bitterness, but on the flip side as it is a fine line, the lust will taste lovely and sweet in this story as well. Chemistry is off the page and so explosive that you won’t be able to miss these two.
This book is one mind-spinning tale of love (or lack thereof) and hate. It revolves around main characters Christian Holt and Gabriella King who’ve been rivals for years. Every time they’d see one another, they’d remind one another of their dislikes for the other. During a temporary truce, an unexpected rendezvous leads to more than each bargained for. You find yourself wanting these characters to go all the way because once they’re together, their story becomes that much better. It left me thinking, “What have they been waiting for?” and, “What took so long?”
This leads their perception of one another blurred from what it used to be as to what it is now. The book is a page-turner full of sexy, steamy and mysterious to see where it will lead you with these characters as it’s full of shocks to keep you craving for more. Pick this up and you won’t be able to put it down.
I’m new to this author but I’m completely hooked! I loved reading this hate/lust story and I haven’t ever read anything like it. Gabriella is a completely sassy character who I just loved reading and Christian can totally sling it right back to her. When a temporary truce is made and a gesture they didn’t se coming, all of a sudden both are questioning themselves and their beliefs towards one another.
I completely loved the banter between the two characters. They kept me on the edge of my seat and their chemistry sizzled off the pages!
Gabriella and Christian hate each other right. Christian and Gabrielle have one person in common and that’s his tein sister Abby. Christian and Gabrielle are those people who are at each others throat as soon as they see each other. Is there any way this will stop so Abby can see peace with these two who are both important in her life. There’s a thin line between hate and love and even Lust yet what happens when these lines start to imerge together. Read to find out.
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story By Brienne Dubh
5 stars
This was a fun super quick and holy hot read!! I absolutely loved the dialogue between these characters and how the relationships progressed through the story. Gabby and Christian might just be up in my favorite couples list and I would actually love to read more about them.
I read it in one sitting and was actually sad that it ended.
This is my second book by this author and I have loved them both. I love the style and easy flow and highly recommend checking out anything and everything this author has out.
Can’t wait for more!
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is my first time reading anything of hers and I have to say I went in blindly solely based off the cover and quick blurb. I do love the cover, it’s bright and simple design is absolutely eye catching. I am glad I gave this a go as it was a fun and quirky read for me. I found myself laughing out loud at several moments and was sincerely wrapped up in the beautiful disaster that is Christian and Gabriella.
These two main characters seriously can’t stand each other, no matter how much they may get each other’s engines going as far as physical attraction goes. What happens when life situations force them to be around each other and question the feelings blooming between them. I love the quick and light quips that break up the seriousness that is sometimes discovering love and lust. I will for sure be around to see what will come next from Brienne Dubh!
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story is a great novella from Brienne Dubh. I had never previously read any of this author’s work but Brienne Dubh sure packs a lot into this 136 page novella.
Christian Hunt and Gabriella King have hated each other for over 10 years. Unfortunately Christian is the twin brother of Gabby’s best friend so they have to see each other. When Gabby attends the twins 30th birthday party, after all the insults have been thrown at each other, they agree to call a truce. A truce that leads them to the bedroom as they both agree that although they hate each other, there is a wild attraction/lust simmering. What was meant to be a ‘once and done’ leads to both wanting another taste of each other.
I loved this novella so much. The insults that both characters threw at each other were hilarious. He called her Gobby and she called him Hunt but they both knew she meant it to begin with a C (I loved the author’s explanation here). The bedroom scenes are hot and steamy and the author also manages to throw in some humour here too.
I really enjoyed this novella and would definitely recommend it to others.
King and Hunt: A Lust/Hate story by Brienne Dubh is a quick paced novella that is a brilliant way to pass an afternoon.
Brienne Dubh is a new author to me and I have to say this was a great way to discover her work. Although it is a short story – roughly 100 pages or so – it is a complete story with great, interesting characters and a steamy story. I found myself highly entertained throughout the book and loved the way Christian and Gabrielle interacted with each other.
I’m not a huge fan of novellas as I tend to find I go through them too quickly however it never felt like I was missing out on anything with this book. The author has a good writing style about her and the whole book had the perfect pace. I am already looking forward to reading more by this author.
5 Star
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story By Brienne Dubh is a short yet quick read that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down and finished it in about an hour. This is my first read by this Author and definitely will not be my last. The characters are very well developed and easily relatable. Theres enough steamy scenes to make the room feel warmer. Christian and Gabby have pretty much hated each other forever but one Birthday party and a ex boyfriend and things get cleared up and hot and steamy. Will these two be able to have one night together? Do they have a chance at a relationship together? Will Gabby want a relationship with the real Christian? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I look forward to checking out the other books by this Author.
King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story by Brienne Dubh is a fast lusty read. This story clocks in at just over 100 pages and devoured in one sitting. I was drawn in by the title and stayed for the characters, Christian and Gabriella. The two of them have hated each other as long as they can remember but also are drawn to each other. This story is filled with funny quips between them and goes from hate to love. Can the two survive their truce or deepest feelings for one another? The characters are well done and realistic to the reader. This is a YA but I recommend 18+ because it gets a bit steamy in the pages. I overall enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh certainly lives up to its title of lust/love/hate. I really enjoyed this story and it had me wanting more. It is a novella that is quick and steamy, sexy and hot and is perfect with a drink for a few hours to escape. It is a fun story that will capture your heart and leave you anticipating what comes next. It’s like they say there is a fine line between love and hate. A really good read and I hope we get more from Brienne.
King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh. This story while short sure was packed full with everything I’d wanted. This author is new to me but I’m excited to see more. Christian and Gabriella have a Chemistry that really jumps right off the pages and I had moments of forgetting I was reading a book. I’m a sucker for a good enemy to lovers story and this well was beyond good. It’s steamy story that had me completely hooked from start to finish. It’s well paced and the characters are well written. I loved every minute. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.
New book – fun read! Christian and Gabriella jumped off the page and their emotions were high and vivid. You felt every single thing quite clearly and I really enjoyed watching the relationship evolve, so to speak. A very quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely recommended reading for romance lovers.
