David Baldacci brings back Sean King and Michelle Maxwell-former Secret Service agents turned private investigators, featured in the hit TNT TV series King & Maxwell-in their most surprising, personal, and dangerous case ever . . .
KING AND MAXWELL
It seems at first like a simple, tragic story. Tyler Wingo, a teenage boy, learns the awful news that his father, a soldier, was killed in … father, a soldier, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Then the extraordinary happens: Tyler receives a communication from his father . . . after his supposed death.
Tyler hires Sean and Michelle to solve the mystery surrounding his father. But their investigation quickly leads to deeper, more troubling questions. Could Tyler’s father really still be alive? What was his true mission? Could Tyler be the next target?
Sean and Michelle soon realize that they’ve stumbled on to something bigger and more treacherous than anyone could have imagined. And as their hunt for the truth leads them relentlessly to the highest levels of power and to uncovering the most clandestine of secrets, Sean and Michelle are determined to help and protect Tyler–though they may pay for it with their lives.

Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are two of the finest characters created by any contemporary authors. Sure, the books Baldacci has written starring these two are a little far fetched, but they are entertaining, fun, easy reading. This story starts with the theft of a truck load of what? We don’t know right away. The hijacking is the key to a lot in …
Characters that will stay with you and a great pairing for main characters.
Exceptionally well written book by Baldacci. Truly one of his best and he has written quite a few excellent books. I loved the characters and Baldacci is a master character builder. Loved it!
I love anything written by this author. I have almost all of his books and they are a good read.
King and Maxwell are former Secret Service agents who are now private investigators. This is the 6th novel of their adventures Baldacci has written. Baldacci is reliably good and this book really clipped along. Great airplane reading (which is where I read it, on an 8 hour flight).
I have read all the Sean King and Michelle Maxwell books. The last one was in 2013 and Baldacci hasn’t written another one, so far, with these characters. I’m still waiting, Mr Baldacci!
Slow at first. After a few chapters, it was like a ball rolling downhill.
Another great series. I would enjoy reading more of this entertaining team’s stories!
A very good book and a very good series. First time I’ve read a series from book one to the end with no breaks. Too bad this appears to be the last one. I would have liked to see where King and Maxwell’s relationship takes them. They get along well, and you can really see how they get closer and closer as the series progresses.
Strongly recommend …
I love the books with King and Maxwell.
Baldacci has such enormous talent that one tends to forget how compelling his work is. This rendition brings back Sean King and Michele Maxwell, the former Secret Service agents, who are now private detectives. They unwittingly fall into the rabbit hole dug by a man bent on revenge.
Baldacci has a way of portraying his characters that you can …
Fun read
Love the King and Maxwell series!!!
Can’t say enough good things about Baldacci
Like every Baldacci novel, this one is a page-turner.
David Baldacci does an excellent job of writing a great book with plenty of action as well the development of flawed interesting characters.
What can you add to describe the King and Maxwell series,? There’s not enough adjectives to describe Baldacci’s creativity
Great story line – unexpected… Want more.
Haven’t been reading in a while and picked up this book to get back in the groove and couldn’t put it down. Baldacci’s books have that kind of appeal to me and he is a pretty prolific writer – 40 books and counting.
Very much enjoy, looking forward to more.
