With the grit of Pepper Winters, and the club strength of Nina Levine comes the harsh reality of the Broken Bows and their 1% club. My life is about to get truly complicated. The President tasked me with holding onto a hostage from a rival club. Now normally I don’t find it difficult to follow orders, and I’m not one to shirk a responsibility of the club, but this one is a walking nightmare. What … one is a walking nightmare.
What started out as a simple job of gather the intel and move on, has twisted our fates together.
Oubliette’s more than I bargained for. She’s tougher than she looks and sexier then sin.
If it’s the last thing I do I’ll get what I need from her. I promise.
They say one moment in time can adjust our fate. I can’t disagree after today.
I had always heard the Broken Bows were ruthless, cruel and without loyalty. Now I’ve seen it firsthand. Busta has tried every trick in the book. He taunts me, dangling my freedom before me like a carrot, and I’ll be damned if I give him the satisfaction of the win.
I’ll do anything to get free of this hell. Well.
Almost anything…

This story had me glued from the get go. It’s been a few books too long since I’ve read a book that has taken me from one emotion to the next and back again. Yes Kerri is evil to us for her cliffhangers but you won’t be disappointed until the end.
King (The Broken Bows Book 1) What a Bombshell! The tone is set quickly as a dark, raw & gritty read. A sheer fast paced, jaw dropping, heart pounding, and thrilling ride that will keep you at the edge of your seat till the very end. Character’s are a variety with a compelling female lead with a saucey sarcastic side, a male lead who is a alpha biker with a softer side kept hidden, & a variety of supporting character’s with their own dynamics. I read every single book this author has written and every book she writes gets even better than the one before which is rare because I’m in awe as I loved all her other 5* books so I just can’t fathom that each time the next one gets more jolt moments. Especially, with her first crack at MC being flawlessly composed. The cliffhanger ending is without a doubt one of the best cliffhangers. I’m about to blow a gasket as I’m one foot in grave to see what happens in the next novel. Fabulous beginning to a new series. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this explosive series.
Great great greatest – you should read by yourself!
I know, I started with the wrong order to read but right now I’m happy with it.
These books are very well written, fluently told and have great and interesting characters in every direction. Strong souls with heart full power inside themselves.
I just flew through the exciting events and am thrilled and fascinated how everything is interwoven with each other and dissolves to my satisfaction. Bond!
A clear reading recommendation for all with fun at MCs with 5
Reading order:
KING – ROOK – PAWN
I love Kerri’s words! Check this one out!
Busta and Obi are great characters! Obi is strong and tough and doesn’t take anyone’s crap. Busta is a mystery to me. Tough on the outside, but kind on the inside. I loved the interaction between the two of them. But way to leave a girl hanging!! I did not know that this story started in a previous book, but I didn’t feel like i was missing anything. Can’t wait to read the next one!
Oubliette –
a secret dungeon with access only through a trapdoor in its ceiling. (Noun)
A gutsy young woman who refuses to bow to any man including the sexy Busta
(Heroine)
Wow – A must read for MC lover’s
Intense -Check
Twisted – Check
Action Packed – Check
This was an easy, while at the same time, complicated read-
The characters are comprehensive (something I truly enjoyed ) and the storyline flows smoothly in multiple directions. Being a first in series there are numerous plotlines playing out at the same time – future grids are being laid while the current ones are slowly revealed.
It was an intense read that constantly had me on edge – you know when you want to peek ahead just to make sure everything is okay?
The characters we meet are all intricate and definitely diverse – Some had me rolling in laughter (like Jazzy), some broke my heart – others I wanted to slowly erase from the pages.
Busta has me divided, his character has secrets and you can see that he has a heart – would I forgive him? I still don’t know.
Obi – Loved her strength in character, her wit is literally to die for
I have a lot of questions one thing I know for sure is
– I Want More and I Want it Now!!
Wow, now this is an MC book!! Twisted from the beginning, this book has everything that makes a dark read and I have a feeling it hasnt even begun to go dark. D*mn Kerri Ann for leaving us hanging!! I cant wait for moreKerri Ann
There are a few instances that could be trigger points for abuse, so be advised. This is such an intense MC book you won’t be able to put it down until you finish. The cast of characters Kerri Ann has assembled for this storyline blend and mix so perfectly with the story you’ll feel like you’re actually watching what’s going on. I ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepared. Book 1 of “Broken Bows MC” ends with a cliffhanger so be prepared with book 2, I know I will.
Dark, twisted, gritty. I loved this book. This is my first book by Kerri Ann but certainly not my last! Bring on Rook!
So I have to say this book confused the hell out of me at first. It was like walking into the middle of a movie and having to figure out what was going on. I have to say it took me a couple chapters to figure out what was going on. And even then I was scratching my head.
Busta… Well, I liked him. He is a complicated guy. But he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and doesn’t like exactly what is asked of him but he has to do it. You know the whole MC code. The guys he is involved with are interesting and Busta doesn’t seem to trust them all but you will have to read to figure that out.
Oubliette…. or Obi as Busta calls her is stuck in a place she wants nothing to do with. She is a bartender for a rival MC and is taken, hostage by Busta and his MC to find out what information she has. Needless to say, she finds out more information then she gives. I have to say I feel her pain and it hurts.
There are some triggers in this story I was not expecting. But it brings to light some issues that are needed in this book to make it good. I enjoyed this story and am excited to read Pawn next. I will read ‘The 7’ so maybe I understand the beginning better.
Evil author. Evil, evil author. I wish I could leave my review with those two words. But I need to go into more depth here. As I’m pretty sure it is frowned upon to leave only a two word review. This book truly leaves you wanting more. The story between Obi and Busta is one hot read and I cannot wait to read what comes next for them. This author knows exactly what they are doing. They know how to write the story so it sinks it hooks into you not letting you go. Then they tease you at the end. If I didn’t know any better I would think she has a little sadistic side to her. It’s like she is dangling a very juicy little carrot in front of my face. I seriously cannot wait for the second book to arrive. Not too much longer to wait now.- By Vanessa
The dark side of the MC, dark brothers, dark deeds. Oubliette isn’t part of the club, although she does work for them. When she sees something she shouldn’t she is taken hostage by a rival club. Her experiences are horrific. Can she stay strong and get through it–alive and whole?
Busta had seen her and wanted her. There was just something about her. It killed him that he was the one who would expose her to those evil dark ways. She thinks she sees another side to him–is there one?
Although this is titled King, we don’t meet up with him until near the end of the book. How does he fit into the puzzle?
If you are expecting to see some redeeming sides to these guys you’re gonna have to search hard. If you’re a fan of the hardcore one percenters this is the one for you. Never a dull page.

Another dark book to love. I was never a dark romance reader till Kerri Ann, she pulls you into this book and makes you never want to leave. This story you hate to love Busta but you do. I really need more of this story.
King started off a little jerky, writing style wise, but it either got better or I just got used to it because once this book grabbed me I didn’t put it down until I had finished it. The Broken Bows are not a “nice” club. They wear the 1% patch and boy do they deserve it. Busta ends up “babysitting” Oubliette when she is basically kidnaped by his VP. It all gets even worse though when yet more trouble hits the club and Busta questions where his loyalty lies.
OMG I don’t even really know what to say about this book. I mean that in a good way though, but honestly this book is kinda messed up, as in dark, and with an ending that has me eagerly awaiting part two. Make sure to read Rook at the end. I believe it was previously called Envy, The 7 as it was part of an anthology but has been added at the end of King as it runs concurrently with the story and needs to be read before reading part two, Pawn.
I loved it! A dark, intense ride that will knock you off if you don’t hold on. The characters are strong amidst the whirlwind of chaos that is about to rain down. I was on the edge of my seat at times wondering what would happen next. This ends on a cliffhanger and I am anxiously waiting to see how it all plays out.
When Oubliette is kidnapped after seeing a horrible event in the back alley of the bar she works at, she is thrust into a violent world that she never suspected. Unfortunately she is so attracted to her captor. Busta is given the job to guard and extract information from Oubliette but he sees her strength and fire, he wants more from her than information. This was a good read but there are some brutal moments that causes Oubliette to lose herself a bit. I can’t wait for the next book to explore more of their story.
Oubliette works at a bar owned by the Four Horseman MC or at least she did until she witnesses something she shouldn’t have seen and is now being help captive by the Broken Arrows MC and her jailor is Busta, the enforcer for the club.
Busta’s loyalty lies with the club but that doesn’t mean he isn’t attracted to the fiery spitfire who is now his captive. If she will just tell him what she knows he might be able to protect her but as they spend time together he starts to question everything he knows and that includes who his loyalty should belong to.
This is the first installment of a duet and it does end on a cliff hanger. I loved the characters as Busta’s rough and gruff exterior is just one part of this intriguing man’s personality while Oubliette is strong and determined and no one’s victim. This unique story leads you on a dark suspenseful ride filled with twists that leave you wanting more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I have read many MC novels before but never by this Author. She is not afraid to delve into the seedy underbell of the MC world. While the harsh and explicit language did take me by surprise, I came to realize that it gave the book a certain honesty that I appreciated. It was suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat. My favorite character was Busta and I can’t wait to read more about him.
4.5 stars. Now this is a serious MC story that you don’t get very often in this genre and a great start to a new series. I love MC stories and series and it seems that most are some lighter version than how I think true MCs operate. I have no real knowledge of MC inter workings other than Sons of Anarchy (so much love for this show and my man Jax) but this story seems a more likely version than the watered down ones. I’ll start with the writing because this is my first by this author. I love it! I could hear how these rough, dangerous criminals would talk in real life. You are immediately immersed into their life and MC politics of the Bows. At first it’s a lot to keep track of with all the brothers and the double names and the rival MCs that come flying at you fast but as I settled into this terrific story it narrowed down to the drama of the moment for the Bows and the fabulous romance between our hero Busta and the feisty, smart Oubliette. You have to read their story! Busta has a mysterious past when the story begins that makes you want to know how he became who he is. He was born into the life but there’s more. Obi was on the sidelines of the life working as a bartender for a rival MC’s gentleman’s club until she’s kidnapped by the crazy Bow’s VP and Busta take charge of her. There’s much strife within the Bows and with their rivals that drive the storyline. But the romance between our lovers is the sweet spot. There are so many WTF and OMG moments that will leave you stunned and craving more. The plot twists and surprises will give you whiplash and keep you turning the pages and the cliffhanger is unbelievable. The take on the brothers’ archery prowess and requirements for club membership was new and different. Not sure about that but it’s original. It’s madness, mayhem and a much darker version of a MC story but it’s fantastic. I can’t wait for the next story. Bring on Rook!
King, a fast-paced MC book. A dark and twisted story, that will keep you glued to each and every page. A real page turner!!
I really loved the main characters, Busta and Oubliette! He, a hardass biker with a big heart, and plenty of secrets! She, a strong and sassy female, with a selfless and a generous heart!
Can’t wait for the next installment!!
