The story is well written. You will not want to put it down until you finish the story. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I received an advance copy. This is my honest review.
Mystery & Romance with some Ghosts thrown in! This is a great addition to the series. A mystery that has parts in the US and in Ireland. A ghost who is angry and wants something settled. The characters are well written and get more rounded out with each book. I cannot wait for the next book with the 2 new story lines started in this one!
Kindred Spirit earns 5/5 Restless Ghosts…Entertaining Fun!
“Nothing stays buried forever!” Cozy paranormal fans know how true that is, and it is well illustrated in Olivia Swift new sixth book in her Chocolate Magic Cozy Mystery. Set in the U.S. and Ireland the story uncovers an intriguing mystery surrounding Mr. Hoffstander, a man who manufactured buttons, and rumored to have abandoned his family and traveled to Ireland. His ghostly appearance is quite annoying as his haunt happens to be the old bank building Magda and Sam hope to renovate as an art gallery. How fortuitous or prophetic it is that our group is set to visit Ireland (a connection explored in Celtic Spirits), but while there the mystery gets more complex… Olivia Swift’s third-person narrative and writing style is filled with descriptive language to paint pictures of the setting and characters along with dialogue to illustrate personalities and emotions making the read entertaining. But the mystery was the key highlighting friendships and family through ancestral roots; the paranormal element is treated with a compelling realism, and Crystal, the psychic “fur” friend, is fun, not juvenile. I totally enjoyed this book, and the series is important to read, too.

I really enjoyed this engaging mystery. The characters feel like friends and Crystal, the cat, is most amusing. The story with the added bonus of traveling to Ireland was very exciting and kept my interest. I was kept guessing until the very end. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Great cozy mystery with Cats, ghosts travel and friends

Great fun cozy with interesting characters. This book has it all-spirits, travel, romance, mystery, etc
Such a wonderful Cozy Mystery by Author Olivia Swift.
I love the characters and Crystal the cat…
I really loved reading this wonderful book…
Spirited chocolates, physic cats, new enterprises, old spirits, and new friends, this cozy mystery has them all, plus a host of great characters. The perfect blend of cozy romance, good friends, and paranormal adventures.
Kindred Spirits is the best book yet in this delightful series. It is all about the importance of family; our friends we hold close and the ancestral ties that link us to the past. Sam, Magda, and their large circle of friends try to buy the vacant bank building in front of the Chocolate Magic Café, hoping to turn it into an art gallery and event center. An angry spirit inhabits the building, a button maker who used to live there, and who still has family in town. Sam, Magda, Katie, and Declan also travel to Ireland to complete the remodel of their holiday cottage. The spirit follows them there, and shows that he also has family in Ireland. After many adventures, séances, and clues given by their psychic cat Crystal, the mysteries are solved, families are reunited, and the happy ending is assured. This is the 6th book in the series. These books are such a joy to read and you are always left satisfied and content. Kudos to Olivia Swift for lifting us up in these trying times.
More mysteries and romance come to light when a building near to the chocolate shop becomes available for sale and development.
A bevy if family secrets, blackmail, betrayal and buttons abound.
Clever cats and new connections strengthen the bonds between friends and lovers.
Exciting adventures at home and abroad as the circle of friends grows and changes – and is bullied by cats and bombarded by ghosts along the way
This series is definitely good clean fun with some ghostly magic thrown in. Chocolate truffles are the business but somehow ghosts show up as well. The group of characters is fun and there is something new each book. I will continue to look forward to the future books in the series.
I have really been enjoying this series of cozy mysteries. In Kindred Spirits, Sam, Magda and their friends are trying to buy the vacant bank building by the cafe to turn it into an art gallery. The characters always engage me. This mystery involves both the US and Ireland, helps a ghost cross over, and unites some of the ghost’s descendants. With much help from her gifted friends, and Crystal the telepathic cat, the mystery will be solved. This book can be read without having read the others, but having read them all enhances my enjoyment. This is a great book for an escape from these troubled times.
I read this book as a stand alone, I have not read any other books in ths series. I really liked getting to know Magda and Sam and their cat Crystal. They meet a spirit tied to a building next to Magda’s Chocolate shop. With their friends a seance is involved, travel to a cottage remodel in Ireland and wouldn’t you know it…I can’t tell you anything else or it would be a spoiler. There is mystery, ghosts, magic, travel, chocolate and remodeling. I really liked this story and plan to read the stories from Book 1 to learn more about the characters in this book. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and this is my honest review.
When the bank building in front of the cafe is going to be sold, the friends pool their money to buy it and convert it to an art gallery. A seance reveals an angry ghost and a long buried secret. A trip to Ireland had long been planned and a seance there revealed the same ghost! Excitement, intrigue, mystery and a ghost make this an enjoyable story! I am looking forward to more of this series!
I received an advance copy of this book, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
This book had a lot going on but it was good. When Magda, Sam and friends discover the bank building in front of the cafe is going to be sold they all pool their resources to buy it and turn it into an art gallery. As soon as they buy it they do a seance to make sure the building is good. When they discover a ghost and a long buried secret. Meanwhile Sam , Magda, Declan and Katie head to Ireland to visit friends and fix up the cottage Sams aunt gave him. There is nonstop action and mystery in this latest installment. We get to know the characters better from both sides of the ocean! I couldn’t put this book down waiting to see what happened next. I highly recommend this book and this series!
A delightful book that caught me from page 1 until the end. Read the book today and Olivia, Sam and the rest of the crew of characters that you love plus all the cats make this book one of the best yet. Plus a side trip to Ireland doesn’t hurt either. You just have to find out what happens when everyone decides to go into a new venture as equal partners and a spirit doesn’t appear to be very happy about it. A wonderful read that can’t be missed. I am dying to read the next book in this series.
I love this sweet series full of magic and mystery. The writing is fresh and skillful. The plot is tight and multi-layered and filled with believable characters. It was a delightful read and I’m looking forward to future installments. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
I received this book free, I am an arc reader. This book does not disappoint! I didn’t want to put it down. It keeps you wanting more. I love the intertwining of characters, chocolate, coffee, art, travel, friends, relationships, and the group working together to help the spirit world communicate and move on. I can’t wait for the next book, will the baby have special talents also?
For those who believe in mediums and seeing the ghosts of those who have died this series is one you’ll enjoy and you’ll want to go back and read the entire series when you’ve finished this book. For those who don’t, you’ll find a good cozy mystery to solve with help from a psychic cat named Crystal!
I recommend this book as one to get you to turn off the doom and gloom of what’s on tv and escape to a story that will make you feel good when you’ve finished it. You won’t regret it!!
