Love this series. I almost can’t watch the TV show as it does not match my formed view of the characters.
Craig Johnson writes great books!
Another great book in this series…it has everything…humor, action, great characters
Similar to the tv series but better with more insight into the characters and their history.
I really enjoy the Longmire books. Johnson occasionally gets bogged down in Longmire’s whole Indian zen/mystic connection, but for the most part all of them have been solid rural mystery/action books.
I liked the western setting, the characters and their moral dilemmas, their backs stories and learning about the Native American culture in today’s world.
Love Longmire!
Another good read from Johnson. Character development that makes you think you’ve known these folks forever. Long ride Longmire!
Craig Johnson is a wonderful writer and he has not disappointed with any of the Longmire novels that I have read (all but one, I think). I saw the TV show before seeking out the books, which worked out fine- they aren’t terribly similar but have strong parallels. In this novel, Walt and his best friend Henry Standing Bear, the Indian (don’t you dare call him Native American), drive to Philly from Wyoming to visit Walt’s daughter and boyfriend, who are both attorneys. By the time they arrive, Cady is in a coma, the boyfriend is missing, and an escort from the Philly police is soon waiting to assist/impede Walt’s efforts to find out what is going on. Mysterious messages appear for Walt in envelopes left around town where only he would look. Soon, bodies start dropping. The story is not always exceedingly plausible, but the characters are simply marvelous and reading about how they interact is a pleasure. Walt’s deputy, Vic, is a Philly native, and almost all of her family is in law enforcement, but she gets along with only a few of them. Vic’s arrival turns up the heat in more ways than one. I would not have missed this for anything.
Sandford always excellent, characters, plot, fast paced reading, always eager to get back until it is finished.
Love Craig Johnson’s writings. This is a re-read for me after many years, still enjoyed it
Loved this Netflick series and am sorry it has ended. I loved this book and will read more of these.
longmire is the best new type of police procedural in the last 10 years
Love Longmire!!!
If you have watched the show it is pretty true to it. Vic is a bit different but not a problem. Some great lines and Walt is his typical dry self. Overall a fun read.
Love the longmire series. Well written through and through
I liked the TV series. Had a hard time following some of the characters. I didn’t like the language so wont be getting anymore.
The entire Longmire series is a fantastic read. If you haven’t already gotten addicted to the world of Walt, Henry, and Vic, do yourselves a favor and dive in. They’re best read in order but each book stands alone. Huge Craig Johnson fan. I order the Longmire books as soon as they’re available on a pre-order basis!
Enjoyed the book very much. Always a treat to keep up with the Sheriff.
As a Longmeyer fan, I always enjoy the books. The characters interact well and the story is always good
