A unique blend of suspense, romance and laughs with just a dash of time-traveling Highlander from USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Amy Vansant. When Catriona spots a plaid posterior passed out on the Hollywood movie lot where she works, she doesn’t know her life as a fixer for Hollywood’s spoiled elite is about to grow more complicated. She wants to write-off the ridiculously … wants to write-off the ridiculously sexy, kilt-wearing Brochan as a con artist, but her adoptive father seems strangely comfortable with a man claiming to have no memory of his past or knowledge of the modern world.
A red-bearded thug, an old picture and a three hundred year-old vendetta soon have Catriona worried she could lose everything – including her mysterious time traveling Scotsman.
A Highlander followed her home…Can she keep him?
Fans of Janet Evanovich, Colleen Helme and Denise Grover Swank will delight to find a new series that deals both thrills and laughs at a rapid-fire pace.
* There is a partial cliff-hanger – each book can stand alone and is also part of a larger story arc that continues through the series.

I recently read a short story in this series (Drop dead crime because Amy Vansant had a book in the collection and I love her Pineapple Port serise). I really enjoyed the collection and Amy’s book in particular, I liked the idea for the series so I downloaded this book. Glad I did I really liked the unique story and loved the character’s so much so that they made me laugh.
What kind of trouble can a time traveling Highlander get into when he wakes up to find himself stuck in morden times and on a movie set to boot. It puts a whole new spin on things we take for granted like toothpaste. Then when one of the only people he has meet is kidnapped he has no chose but to go on a rescue mission.
Really enjoyable and I had read it within a few hours, will definitely be looking to get the rest in the se
This mystery is packed with action, danger and suspense. It’s a fast paced story with very likeable characters, twists and turns, murders and mayhem. Throughout the story has many comedic moments of laugh out loud humor. The book is in a series but can stand alone. It’s a thriller of a mystery that is clean, delightful and entertaining reading.
What a book! Loved it! A fun read! A hero, his son and adopted daughter, fight an evil drug dealer and his two silly sidekicks ( who causes mayhem and misfortune), throw in drama, danger, kidnapping, murder, and strange twists and turns, and a lot of laughter! Will they save the day, anyone’s guess, read and see!
Think a strong heroine who works doing odd (clean-up) jobs for a movie studio. She finds a man who seems to be passed out drunk. In a kilt. Her job is to keep the actors out of the news and make sure they get help when needed. She finally has to put the Highlander on to a rolling cart & takes him to her apartment. When he wakes he doesn’t know where he is, what happened or how he was stabbed.
A little suspense, three (or four) time travelers from the medieval times and who is the good guys & who isn’t. Thrown in time travel, kidnapping, danger, romance and humor. This was sensual but clean and the romance between a 21st century heroine and a hero from the middle ages – only fireworks.
No one asked me to leave this review & all opinions are my own. I enjoyed this book so much by a new author (to me) that I’m reading another book by her called Pineapple Lies and it’s just as much fun as the first book I read by Amy Vansant. Also, will be buying the next book involving the Highlanders. Promises to be another good book if these two are anything to go by. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
Whenever I read a story with time travel to the future I’m curious about how the author handles the newbie’s impressions and adjustments. Here my favorites are “glowing time” and an upright coffin. The problem of missing ID was also mentioned! Catriona has her hands full with Brock and more as she gets caught up between her boss and his old adversary. I enjoy Amy Vansant’s blogs and this was the first book I’ve read; I’ll definitely read more!
This was a fun and entertaining story. At times you will laugh out loud it is so funny. Other times the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is the start of a romance between Brochan aka “Broch” and Catriona. Hope there will be another book with Broch and Catriona’s romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Silly fun with lots of laughs and a Cliffhanger!

I love a good laugh and I got quite a few here. I love the Scottish accent and I got that, too. Nice mystery, but the Fatal Flaw is The Cliffhanger!! Why?!
I’m off to book 2 because I laughed So Hard reading this. But one more Cliffhanger is more than I give Any author! Please don’t let this be a trend!
A humorous, action-filled romance.
Catriona works for her adoptive father, Sean, at Parasol Pictures in Hollywood as an official “fixer” but finding a drunk, unconscious man in a kilt is still an unusual occurrence, especially one who barely speaks understandable English and seems to have no idea where he is. It would make more sense if any of the movies currently under production required “hot hunk” highlanders but there are not, and this one is burning up with a fever. When Brochan recovers and is able to answer questions, he insists he is from the 1700’s and his unfamiliarity with all things modern seems to support this. Although Catriona is skeptical other people are not, including Sean, and Brochan’s fighting skills are quickly put to use.
The storyline has time travel, mystery, light romance, and humor and sets the stage for future books. I enjoyed the book and definitely want to read more of the series.
This funny, suspenseful, time-travel romance delighted me with its complex characters and glimpse of life behind Hollywood’s glamorous movie lot. Looking forward to the next installment.
I’m not a fan of serials But I decided to give this story a chance because the blirb was so good And it was posted as having a ‘soft’ ending….now on to the next installment…
I like the wit and humor between Catriona and Broch. I like how Broch traveled through time to come to modern-day Hollywood. I enjoyed the thriller plot. I highly recommend this unusual time travel romance.
Didn’t feel like a full sized book.
Quick read and enjoyable.
It was a good funny book.
I like time travel books…moving forward in time is just as emotionally shocking as going backward. It seems that the Scottish folk are good at time travel….just saying.
This was an interesting story. Just “dragging” in spots.
This book was hilarious. A hint of romance with lots of adventure.
I. Could barely put it down. What a great read.
Broch is so funny and the way Cat handles him and the situations they always seem to find themselves in! A good clean and funny time travel suspense
Loved the premise of time travel and couldn’t help but like all the main characters. I read all three books in less than 2 days!!
