All’s fair in love and war. Now they just have to decide which this is…Laird William Sinclair is a good man. Like all his brothers he helps those around him, takes care of the less fortunate. So why does Gemma McClaren think she can take advantage of his kind nature and just ride off? He’s good but he isn’t a saint. And he’s certainly not above teaching that tricky little imp a lesson she’ll … lesson she’ll never forget.
Gemma McClaren has learned the hard way that men are scum. She won’t ever fall prey to one again. Yet, even she feels a little guilty when she steals a handsome laird’s money and horse. He hadn’t actually done a thing to harm her…yet. Her guilt quickly evaporates when he tracks her down with two small children in tow and demands she repay him by becoming nanny to the children. If she doesn’t, he’ll report her to the authorities.
What choice does she have? Except Gemma hasn’t the first clue how to care for children or handle a very large and angry laird. And honestly, she didn’t’ come to the Highlands to play with wee bairns no matter how cute. Nor does she want to notice how her heartbeat quickens every time Will steps into the room. She’s got a debt to settle and a life to reclaim.

Kilted Sin by Tammy Andresen is book Three in the Brethren of Stone Series. This is the story of Gemma McClaren and Laird William Sinclair. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Will is working land that he bought to raise barley when he goes to cool off in the lock his horse and money is stolen by Gemma. Gemma doesn’t trust men and doesn’t think anything of taking WIll’s horse since she doesn’t know him and assume he like other men. Gemma is traveling and ran out of money and took from Will. But now he has tracked her down and he is making her be governess to work off the her debt. But sparks are flying between the two that lead to more than a debt.
Struggling to make ends meet and despairing of ever being good enough to compare with his brothers, Laird William Sinclair is not in a good frame of mind when the tricky Gemma McClaren takes advantage of his good nature. Will decides that when he finds her, he’ll teach her a lesson she’ll never forget. He didn’t realise just how quickly that would be. Blackmailing Gemma into being a nanny to the two children foist on him, he quickly comes to realise that his first impression may need a bit of readjustment. Gemma also has to reframe her picture of men in general, as she comes to learn the that Sinclair men in general and Will in particular, are kind and generous to a fault. Will is as strong and lovable as his brothers, and there is a part of Gemma in all of us, making me realise that there is always hope for every situation. I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful Highlands romance that is part of a series, but nevertheless is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion.
“Well, it all began when I tried to steal his horse.”
A fast-paced story with wonderful characters and two adorable children. Both characters have issues to overcome. Tammy Andersen weaves their trust and growth into their romance as they get to know each other and reach their HEA. A good addition to the Brethren of Stone series.

A lovely novella, I think it’s my favourite so far. Will is so caring, hard working, patient & yet is lacking in self belief. Gemma has been badly hurt by her late husband & finds it hard to trust. They are perfect for each other but they nearly let their self doubts ruin a budding romance. As with all the author’s books the characters have depth & the pace is very good. Once again I read it in a sitting as it grabbed me from start to finish
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
