“I’ve done far worse than what I went to prison for. She has no idea how bad this can get.”WINTERSending him to prison was the worst thing I could’ve done. It didn’t matter that he did the crime or that I wished he was dead. Perhaps I thought I’d have time to disappear before he got out or he’d cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was.But I was wrong. Three years came and went too … I was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and now he’s anything but calm. Prison only gave him time to plan.
And while I anticipated his vengeance, I didn’t expect this.
He doesn’t want to make me hurt. He wants to make everything hurt.
DAMON
First thing’s first. Get rid of her daddy. He told them I forced her. He told them his little girl was a victim, but I was a kid, too, and she wanted it just as much as I did.
Step two… Give her, her sister, and her mother nowhere to run and no fuel to escape. The Ashby women are alone now and desperate for a knight in shining armor.
But that’s not what’s coming.
No, it’s time I listened to my father and took control of my future. It’s time I showed them all–my family, her family, my friends–that I will never change and that I have no other ambition than to be the nightmare of their lives.
Starting with her.
She’ll be so scared, she won’t even be safe in her own head by the time I’m done with her. And the best part is I won’t have to break into her home to do it.
As the new man of the house I have all the keys.
*Kill Switch is a romantic suspense suitable for readers 18+. It is advised to read Corrupt (Devil’s Night #1) and Hideaway (Devil’s Night #2) prior to reading this book.

OMG was sooo glad to read my boys again!!! Damon is a broody asshole but damn so hot AF!!! Winter just thought she did the right thing by sending him away and that it was all over. Boy was she wrong.
This book was like the ultimate cat and mouse when someone who went to prison for 3 years to get out and take his revenge on the one person who sent him there. I felt for both Damon and Winter at times for what they went through growing up as they both had different difficulties to overcome.
Loved also seeing the boys back together even if some had changed. They all came together when it counted the most. I am patiently awaiting the next story to come out!!!
I liked it more than book two but not as much as book one. I will say I liked the Will ‘twist’…that was hot. It was also more disturbing than the other two books, I’m not sure I appreciated certain details. I was invested though and am still excited for the last book.
4.5 Stars
In Kill Switch we finally have the character story I’ve been waiting for since the first book in this series: Damon. And in my opinion this book left nothing to be desired, on the contrary it surprised me positively.
Here we have one of those stories that you start and can not stop, that each page you wonder what will happen next, one of those books that I am formulating theories according to the events and I am in the expectation to know if I was right or wrong. It’s an amazing, addictive, very well written book where the story never got boring or tiring despite the book being long.
I can’t say much about the book so as not to spoil the story, but I’ll tell you one thing: after the previous books Damon was a character I hated is that I would never tolerate him , but with the brilliant work of Penelope Douglas the unthinkable happened : Damon conquered me completely.
With chapters alternating between the past and the present we could understand what happened back there once Damon became what he is today. And with each chapter, knowing and knowing a little more about this complex, dangerous character he was conquering me page by page. And Winter is fantastic, no, I think she’s my favorite protagonist of this series. She is strong, brave and the perfect match for Damon.
Kill Switch is an addictive book full of secrets, revelations and twists that make the book more captivating, addictive and intriguing. Now I can not wait for Will’s story.
Kill Switch is freaking perfection !!!! Pen Douglad didn’t write next part of this series… she create a masterpiece !!! I hadn’t read this book… I was taken on very uexpected journey with Damon and other guys. Dark, twisted with so much secrets to find out, OMG!!! I literaly have no words to describe how much different feeling I’ve got right now… or rather STILL because it’s over week since my meeting with Kill Switch characters.
Penelope, Damon and Winter still keeps in breathelss mode… My heart literaly hurts, head is spinning because this author takes me to on f*cking Devil’s rollecoster ride.
Damon broke me… He was really rough character in whole series, but also… since the begining he was my favorite Devil’s Night Boy. Boy and then MAN with dark heart, broken soul… and twisted mind. I was so curious what kind of book Mrs. Douglas will give him. I want to say much, much more about him, but I CAN’T! Pen change my view about his characters in 360°, at least 2 times. EVERYTHING what I expected, was much more different, than I thought.
I LOVE Penelope because she gave for very male Damon, gentle but very strong female to catch up. Winter was perfect rival for him. She is my idol. I want to be like her, I want to be her sister, best friend… just her everything. SHE is as bright and brave like Damon is dark… maybe she doesn’t know about this from the start… but when the times is right she crashes Damon heart with her loving one.
Jesus, I mean People…. maybe we had to wait long for this story, but now that doesn’t matter. If cost of having in hands masterpice like THIS ONE, is time…. I could wait long, long time.
Maybe someone will tell me how to live with AfterDamon-Bookhangover…
Love me some Penelope Douglas! She can write a bad boy like no other and this series is amazing
This book blew me away! While Damon certainly intrigued me in Corrupt and Hideaway, I didn’t think I’d ever truly like him. There is no doubt Damon has made some very bad mistakes and caused a lot of trouble. But you can’t help falling for the broken boy who tried to feel. Who fell for a girl when he was just a boy and never forgot that this little girl made him feel as though someone truly understood and saw him for the first time. While life didn’t go as planned and he stumbled through life, he finally had the life he so desperately wanted with the woman he loved, the friends he would walk through fire for, and living a life he could be proud of.
Winter… this girl has to be one of the strongest heroines I have ever read. Not because she is blind, but in spite of it. She knows what she wants. She is always learning and growing and fighting for what she wants in life. And when she meets Damon she finally finds someone who understands her, who makes her feel whole, who doesn’t treat her like she is made of glass. Despite the accident that left her blind, she knows in her heart that Damon never meant for that to happen. And over the years he continued to watch over her and she continued to think about they boy she loved to hideaway with.
My heart broke in two and repaired itself as I read the story of Damon and Winter. It might have been years of strife, anger, sadness, bitterness, longing and love. But in the end they ended up exactly where they wanted and needed to be…together.
I loved this story so much! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone!
OMG….what a story. Kill Switch is a romance unlike any other. It’s an intense, unpredictable and spine-tingling story centered around anger and revenge. To say I was hooked would be an understatement since I was literally glued to the pages throughout, as the story had me at the edge of my seat from start to finish.
I’ve been anxious for Damon’s story since I started this series yet nothing could have prepared me for what I just finished reading. Secrets told and lies revealed, steamy scenes, emotional anguish, hate, forgiveness and love are just some of what you will find in this story. Be prepared to be taken on a wild ride.
The novel was well written with multiple layers, flawed well-developed characters and a host of secondary characters from the previous books who all added balance to the story. Told in both the past and present day, every chapter will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride and the twist and turns will leave you stunned.
Kill Switch was nothing like I expected yet I loved it all the more. This was a phenomenal read definitely worthy of a 5 star status and I would highly recommend it.
The wait it over! DAMON IS HERE! And he was worth every painstaking moment of that wait!
And this book is yet another reason I come back to Pen’s stories time and time again! For me, it’s safe to say that THIS BOOK, THIS STORY, THESE CHARACTERS are her best work yet! Of course it wouldn’t be as outstanding as it is, without the help of the first two books (CORRUPT and HIDEAWAY) in this series to build up to this part in the series. You cannot have one book without the other and you can not have the other characters stories without leading to this one.
Truly, Pen has blown my mind with how she’s woven this saga together. The way it is all blending together is flawless! Her execution of this entire DEVIL’S NIGHT story and its characters, is EXTRAORDINARY and has left my jaw on the floor with the plot twists that I did NOT see coming. After finishing book 2, HIDEAWAY over a year ago, I was left with many questions and high hopes as to where this next installment (Damon’s book) was going to take us readers, and Pen did not disappoint. In KILL SWITCH, there’s more layers uncovered, but yet more depth built into the story line to keep the reader invested and intrigued with the next part to the story. Much of KS overlaps in it’s timeline with book 1, CORRUPT, but we are getting it from Damon and Winter’s POV, whereas with CORRUPT, we got it from Rika and Micheal’s POV. And let me state, this is NOT a retelling of CORRUPT…AT ALL…this is very much Damon and Winter’s story, but there are events from CORRUPT that come into play in this book as well. Scenes from CORRUPT that had you wondering what was happening, but you didn’t know because it was Damon’s character that those things were happening to and neither Micheal nor Rika were privy to those scenes.
I can imagine it takes a LOT of discipline, energy, and note taking in order to get these timelines to work out the way they do without messing something up and I can say that Pen is weaving this saga together brilliantly!
I can not give details about the plot because I don’t feel like I would be able to sum up the story and do it justice without spoiling anything for you. Just promise me you will go into this book blind and trust that Pen will bring all the breath-taking mind games, the unforgettable steamy moments *wink*, and a unique story line that will leave you begging for more when all is said and done.
Now, the wait for NIGHTFALL (Devil’s Night #4), Will’s story…
Him forever. I wanted to hold this place where we could hide in our dark places and feel everything we didn’t always understand. Fantastical fear and falling. Danger, fury, heat, and need.So strong you’re a f*cking animal. Black and red.

Oh. My. God. Saying this books was intense… would be the understatement of the year.
I don’t think I can form logical thoughts for a while. I guess I will have to do a re-read because sweet baby Jesus, this book had me all twisted! Pen Douglas really knows how to write something so catchy and epic.
Words failed me. I’m bowing down.
Gah! Where do I start? Kill Switch was absolutely outstanding and everything we have been waiting for and more. The author said it perfectly when she said that this story was like a saga because that is exactly what it was. I could not have loved this story any more if I tried. It was sexy, suspenseful, sensual and erotic and full of mindeffs that I never saw coming. It was absolutely brilliant!
Without giving anything away (and being obnoxiously vague here) this story is best read after Corrupt and Hideaway. It is filled with little breadcrumbs from the first and second book that lead back to the Mindeff King himself, Damon Torrance. I swear I love that man more than any other PD book hero in the past (Sorry Jared and Michael.) He is the epitome of the walking wounded and channels his own pain and feelings into his actions. What you think you know from the previous two books is so far from fact it isn’t even funny. I absolutely died for ALL the flashbacks as it painted a deep and vivid portrayal of the boy, the teen and eventually the man as he finds himself obsessed with and affected by a girl he never saw coming.
All in all, this book was pure book magic and another example of how this author always delivers her best and leaves us flailing and wanting more! 6 stars! ~Ratula
Wow just wow
I went into this with so much excitement I was scared it would let me down but boy did I have nothing to fear completely amazing .
Damon as always been my least liked one out of the boys I’ve always been a Kai girl, but oh my did I shed a tear for him I went into the book not liking him but came out loving him. There is so much hurt and anger inside him the only thing he knows his revenge.
“Because pain in the body quiets the pain in the head. It feels good, like a kill switch for your brain”
So many twists and turns you can’t help be gripped deffinatly one of my favourite series .
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run
So we’d both be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree
I’m pretty sure Damon just signed himself to me as my forever favourite anithero. Penelope killed it! I could sense the slight shift in the story, which changed everything.
Intoxicating
Kill Switch is the third book in Devils Night series, and I highly recommend you read the first two books, Corrupt and Hideaway first. Please mark my word and don’t read any review before you read it…Dive in blind!
Usually, I like to dive blind into the book that I am reading, but with this beauty, I couldn’t stay away from the reviews. When I want to read a book, I only check the ratings from people they are on my friends’ list. The book became so controversial as the main character in it. People were mad, and honestly, I don’t know why now after I read the book…Because of those reviews, I got more and more attracted to read it.
I love menage books, I love dark books, I love twisted books with twisted and broken characters, I love mindf@ck books. The only feeling that I got before I started this book was fear. I was scared that I will love it, that it will blow my mind, that it will consume me…And it was exactly like that. It hit me strong and good.
My instinct never fails me with this feeling I started to read Corrupt. it was in ambition because a friend, of a friend of mine, (blah blah you know the drill) judge the book pretty harsh. So I was intrigued and start reading…Honest, I think that person didn’t even read from the beginning to the end of the book.
After reading Corrupt, the book became, and still is, my ALL TIME favorite book. Of course, I love Hideaway too, and now Kill Switch, but Corrupt has a special place in my heart. All this beauty and madness started in Corrupt. We meet the Horsemen and that’s when the action starts.
Michael was the leader, the boss, the dominant, the alpha…Kai was the voice of reason, the reasonable, the wise and the good one…Damon was the crazy and the scary one, the real f@cked up…and Will the crazy fun one, always joking, flirting, smiling and in my opinion, the one who suffered the most.
Damon was the most controversial and hated guy from the Horsemen crew. At the end of Corrupt, I hated Damon with all my heart and I thought that absolutely nothing was going to change my mind…Well, I was wrong…DEAD WRONG. Of course, he washed some of his sins in Hideaway, and even now after finishing Kill Switch, I didn’t forgive him 100%.
I was sure that everything that he has done badly in the first two books, in this one we were gonna find the reason behind it. I mean let’s face it, his father was Gabriel, was the devil himself, you can’t expect something good…He was born and raised in hell. All he knew was suffering and hate. The only light in his life was what he hated the most. If you read the book, you will understand what I’m talking about.
I must confess that I am ashamed of my self and that I hate my self for this, but I had a really hard time reading Winter and her condition. I felt really bad and sorry for her. I kept my hopes until the last word, and still keep them, that somehow, a miracle, I don’t know, anything, could cure her. I like her so much, I love her so much. She is amazing from all points of view…You just fell in love with her from the start.
For Damon as a character, I must say that I have mixed feelings. Were moments in the book when I thought I was reading about another man, another character. I loved it and hated it in the same time. He grew, he matured, he became a man…But I still love him. Actually, all of them seem more mature. They have grown under our eyes.
I was scared that I wasn’t going to see more the other couples, Michael & Rika, and Kai & Banks. But baby I was dead wrong again. The characters, their bound was awesome. Men, the girls rock so hard in this book. The book has been focused both on Damon & Winter, and the rest of the crew.
This book is on a new level. It’s definitely something else, something new and different, but in a very good way…This book had everything I swear…In my opinion, this one was more emotional and psychological than the first two books.
I laughed so hard and I cried. Those twist’s and turns and the end of the book was grenade after grenade…mindblowing and mindf@ck…
For me Kill Switch was my most anticipated book of the year. Now, I moved my obsession on the next one, Nightfall. Men…can’t wait for that one. I am sure that Will is going to have an epic story. But I also hope that Alex gets her own story too. She is an important piece in this puzzle, a really good friend and a really badass girl…All the girls are…I don’t know…maybe we will get a new series, (pleaseeee)…Blackchurch?!
I highly recommend this book and…this series!
Kill Switch took me to the edge, dangled me there and then pulled me back in the best way. You never know what’s going on behind closed doors. Evil lurks where you least expect and this story holds no punches. Love, betrayal, secret alliances, mind games, lies all gave me that nervous and tight feeling in my chest. An adrenaline rush at the possibilities and discoveries.
Damon Torrance is the coldest and cruelest of the Four Horsemen. He is so angry. He sent shivers down my spine. He wants what he wants and has no qualms about getting it. But why? There have been glimpses in Corrupt and Hideaway, but finding out the full extent of the life he has been dealt is utterly heartbreaking. One can completely understand why he is the way he is. I almost hate to admit it, but I think he is my favorite.
Winter Ashby is tougher than she looks. She’s no wallflower that’s for sure. I love how she handles Damon. And their push and pull is exactly what the other needs. He torments her at times, but she does it to herself as well. The one thing I admire most about her is no matter what she never gives up on her dream.
This isn’t an easy or typical love story. It weaves in the relevancy of companionship, unconditional love, embracing the dark with the light, true acceptance of another. There is definitely a fine line that gets hurdled often. It seems to be always on the edge and forever in the grey. It begs the question to what lengths would you go to feel or love? I love the answers I get with this novel. I read to be entertained and Kill Switch did exactly that.
The best in the series so far.
As twisted as Damon is I can’t help but love the fact of how brutally honest he is and I liked the chemistry between him and Winter.
I just didn’t like the fact of how everyone was against him (and for good reason) and then out of nowhere as though nothing happened. I mean in Hideaway he was the psycho in the background we all feared, trying to anticipate what he was up to, what was he going to do to whom and when he was going to do it.
Yes he messed with Winter but that was it! He had words with Rika (loved the banter between them) but that was it. I guess I was expecting him to be taunting if not terrorizing the other horsemen.
All in all still one of the best books I’ve read so far.
Pen is undoubtedly one of my favorite authors. Her writing is phenomenal and I can’t wait to read Will’s story next!
OMFG!!! YES, I said that!!!
Kill Switch is completely out of this world outstanding and oh so fricken mind-blowing! I CANNOT FUCKING DEAL!!!! Just take my advice and run to get your hands on this crazy ass ride of your life!!! YOU NEED IT!!!
Mind Blown. All the things you THOUGHT you knew, you’ll find out how right or wrong you were. I still have sooooo many questions, but that’s what book #4 is for.
The adrenaline rushing through my veins right now is out of this world!
I absolutely LOVED this story and it gave us a different perspective on how Damon really was. We portrayed him as an evil person in Corrupt, but damn he really blew my mind away in Kill Switch.
We learned everything there was to learn about Damon and the why’s about his life. I loved the whole back and forth we got from what happened in the past to what was going on in the present because it gave us a better understanding of why things were happening the way they were in the present.
Winter was a wonderful character, she was such a strong heroine and I loved her courage and her determination to live life after her accident. She didn’t let that put her down and she kept going forward.
I am just flabbergasted by this story and I can say that Kill Switch is going on my top reads of 2019!
Wow! I loved this book! Damon was such a bad boy, but I loved who he is with Winter. Their story shouldn’t have worked, but it so did! She was so much more with him, and he was so broken that she filled in his missing pieces. I loved/hated the scene when he’s begging her not to let him go. I cried thru this scene the hardest. I was furious for him thru the scenes with abuse, and he did deserve someone that wasn’t going to use him. This series is fantastic!
As much as I love the guys, the girls totally rock in this series. During this series I struggle to see why readers hated Rika she’s awesome. I kept waiting for the moment she does or say something to make her unlikable but it never came. I rarely remember the females in stories but this one they complemented the men very well. Who’s my fave, I don’t know I like them all. As for the guys I like their dynamic, bros before hoes (before they get their hoes), bromance they really do care about each other. Kill Switch is my favourite in this series. I thought Damon was a right wanker in the other two books and he still is but I like him now. I’m looking forward to Will’s story. I don’t have a favourite guy either because it changes with every book which I think is a great thing. The writer is very clever at making you hate them and then love them.
