Holy Hotness!! This book is off the charts. I am all about some hot mafia alpha males and this one is that kind of book. Kill Me had just the right amount of everything that you look for in a mafia romance. L.P. Lovell’s writing drew me in and kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. I just loved her writing.
I absolutely LOVED Nero and Una, they are both some badasses. Their story is so freaking addicting and edge of your seat kind of read. Action packed and full of hotness. I have never read a dark mafia quit like this and I totally love it!! Ohhhh!! That cliffhanger Killed me…I will be anxiously waiting for the next book.
I highly suggest you read this.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Nothing like I anticipated . Una is the perfect assassin , trained from childhood to be the best – an elite . Nero , I don’t even know how to begin describing him. Cutthroat , emotionless , he wants to rule and he has no problem taking out anything or anyone who gets in his way. He enlists Una to remove some of his “obstacles ” . Neither one realizing just how perfect their darkness will blend. A bloodied king to her darkened queen. Checkmate

This was my first read from this author even though I have a few of her books on my tbr-list but I’ve never gotten ’round to reading one until now. I am glad I finally started reading her books because she got me hooked on this series. Her writing captured me and this story was full of suspense that kept me turning the pages. I loved this book and definitely want more!
The Story:
Una was trained to kill and turned into a deadly weapon, The Kiss of Death. She gets hired to kill though that comes with a price. She is badass and men tend to underestimate her because appearances are deceiving and as a woman you are usually not considered a threat for mafia bosses or any kind of gangsters. But even the strongest have a weakness, and so does this assassin.
All Nero Verdi wants is power and he has a plan to gain more. For his plan he needs Una and he always gets what he wants so it’s just a matter of the right leverage over her until she gets him to his goal. No matter the losses on his way to the top.
Thoughts:
To be honest I wasn’t a big fan of Nero. He was nothing close to any character I’ve read so far. He wasn’t just bad or evil, he fitted no description because as soon as I thought I’d figured him out he suddenly changed direction and kept me spinning around and wondering what actually just happened.
I didn’t have a clue what Nero was going for in this book and this had me confused the whole time. He hired Una for a job and I didn’t understand his motivations behind his conditions that came with this job. It also seemed like forever until she finished her job even though she didn’t do it the way I thought she would and it was a tad bit dragging at some point. I was also wondering why those evil guys relied on a woman to kill their enemies?! I guess I’m just not used to reading about badass women.
Anyway I enjoyed the story a lot which was really brutal at some points. Typical mafia probably but I’m just not used to this because I rarely read mafia books. I can’t wait to read more about Una and what will happen next especially because this book ends in a huge cliffhanger.

I swear, I can’t get enough of L.P. Lovell. I’ve loved her snarky, sassy, sarcastic books lately but this book is so different and I couldn’t get enough of it. Think mafia meets Mr. & Mrs. Smith. There is so much drama and so much darkness mixed in with two very powerful leads. It really grasped my attention and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Una was broken as a child and raised by one of the most powerful men in the Russian Mafia. She is called The Kiss of Death. She’s a trained killer who has absolutely no emotions when it comes to killing. Other than she actually lives for the fight and for the kill. No one has been able to penetrate her cold, emotionless heart. Until Nero enters into her life. He’s dangerous and everything she needs to stay away from. Unfortunately for her, he’s brought something out in her and she can’t stay away.
Nero is the silent king of the Mafia in New York. He gains his power by being ruthless and cold-blooded. He’s the most deadly kind of man. He’s unpredictable and has no problem taking out anyone. No one is off limits when it comes to getting what he wants. So when he uses Una to get this power, he quickly learns that she might actually be the one person who is actually made for him. Someone he considers his Queen. Will she remain the Queen he has always planned her to be? The one as a pawn in his game to rise to power or will she be the Queen that is worthy enough to rule by his side?
This book was so raw and gritty and I soaked up every minute of it. Both Nero and Una are completely broken in an empowering way. That might not make sense right now but it will once you read it. These two are perfect for each other. Dangerous.
“I will become her savior and her nightmare.”
The fight between them is brutal but it’s what works for them. The darkness. The pain. They both need it to survive. I craved every dark moment they had between each other.
“I want to fight her and tame her only for her to break free and do it all over again. I want to strangle her while I fuck her and then fall asleep, never quite knowing whether I’ll open my eyes again, or whether she’ll put a bullet between them instead.”
I shouldn’t like this….right? Well, who the fuck cares because I love it. Both of them are such strong characters. Nero fights for whatever he wants. He’s ruthless and doesn’t give a shit about anyone. Until Una. Una has been trained not care. She was broken down only to be trained as a deathly killer. Despite that, Nero brings out feelings that she hasn’t had in a long time. She shows her vulnerability yet she’s such a strong woman. I really enjoyed watching her fall in love but be so strong and give Nero a run for his money.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. If you like raw, gritty mafia romances with dark yet incredibly strong characters, then this is absolutely the book for you. Don’t miss out!
Loved it.
