Quick read, enjoyed
Couldn’t put it down.
This whole series of the Cold Poker Gang mysteries is a delight. The concept of retired detectives in Las Vegas investigating cold cases is original and interesting. The backdrop of Las Vegas adds a little pizazz. I think most mystery buffs would enjoy these books.
the plot was great
Great story. Loved the characters. Totally unexpected twists. Highly recommend
Couldn’t put it down
Don’t remember to much about it. Kind of sad.
I quite enjoyed this book even though I found the repetitive “falling in love” descriptions to be trite. The overall concept kept my interest going.
Great read. Hard to put down
The premise is a good story but kept saying to the main characters ‘Get a flipping room!’ They actted like teenagers in heat… And I hate books that constantly repeat themselves over and over. How many times did they have to remind the reader that julia was married to Stan!!! Over and over and over! It was like ok got it! Aurhor has a fascination with KFC and Wendy’s food chains. Move on….doubt I read another book from this author!
This was an enjoyable read. The plotline moves steadily and the story is paced nicely. The book was much shorter than I expected. It was more like a short story. I will try another one in this series. Reminded me of the TV series New tricks.
I love this series, and I think you will too!
This was a well written mystery novel, first of a series, and has made me want to read the others. It has a good plot twist, interesting characters and the poker club is an unusual setting.
Could do with improved proof reading or editing but I can overlook that and focus on the writer’s original intent.
Total waste of ink.
Another can’t figure out who did it. Great read
Great plot, not like others
Poorly written and worse editing. Predictable and trite. A chapter before the second wife was revealed, a character referred to a half brother. Creative Writing 101 teaches “show don’t tell” – something this author didn’t learn .
Likeable characters, interesting situation, a look into the world of professional poker .
I truly truly enjoyed this book right from the first page i was hooked and with a book like thos you just hate to come to the end. Great reading my pleasure to find this book
i found this series and tried this first book and i REALLY like it! have also read the second book in the series and am looking forward to the rest!
