Miss Heather Duff met the love of her life. Then she let him go. And now she’s determined to get him back. If there’s one thing Heather regrets, it’s that she let Lord Powell go. She listened to other people tell her what to do, so when Lord Powell proposed, she said no. It was the worst mistake she’s ever made, and now she’s determined to prove to Lord Powell that she wants a second chance.Gill … chance.
Gill Easton, Viscount Powell, has never stopped loving Miss Duff. But a gentleman has his pride to protect. He can’t just let her walk back into his life as if nothing ever happened. And this puts him in a dilemma.
He’ll have to resort to unusual methods in order to get the lady of his dreams to marry him. In this case, the unusual method is to convince her to kidnap him…without letting her know he’s the one behind the whole scheme.
Don’t miss this romantic comedy featuring a feisty heroine, a hero who has to play hard to get, a meddling brother who doesn’t take even a minute to listen to what someone is trying to tell him, and a friend who doesn’t mind any kind of scandal so long as the cause is true love.

This is highly entertaining and dramatic. Gill and Heather courted, Gill asked Heather to marty him, but she said no, on the advice of a woman from a ladies group she belonged to. Later she realizes that she made a mistake and went to beg him to marry her, even though he was betrothed to another woman. He tells her no and says if she loved him, she would fight for him. So she tries, while he is helping but not telling her that he is. The first attempt is at a ball, where her over-eager, feather brain brother saves Gill from his fanciful sister and apologizes profusely promising it will never happen again. (He is beyond dumb and irritating.) And without giving anything away, he later turns into super over-eager, stubborn and dense brother. It’s a great story that highly recommend.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.
Historic Romantic Comedy
Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen novel. I’m convinced that story is the inspiration for this book, but this story is has far more twists and wacky turns. It’s funny, ridiculous at times, but enjoyable.

Kidnapping the Viscount by Ruth Ann Nordin
Heather Duff and Gill Easton, Viscount Powell are the main characters. Heather had turned down Gill marriage proposal because she felt led to be the group she was in. She regrets the decision and decides that she just has to have Gill. She makes and effort to be near him and he decides that he still has feelings for her and wants to know if she will try to kidnap and marry him and she does so he knows that she most love him. They have lots of obstacles to overcome in the book and it was a fun read. I received an arc to review and really enjoyed the book and recommend to anyone looking for a fun read.
Book five in the Marriage by Fate series a book I found myself laughing with some things that happened for example, the mud scene. I wonder if there was a book about Logan and I would like to see Charles fall in love and who the new ladies are. A well written story that I enjoyed reading. Who’s the Kidnapper!
May contain a spoiler
Miss Heather Duff realizes she’s made a major mistake and is is willing to do anything to right her wrong. Without her knowledge Gill Easton, Viscount Powell is willing to do anything to help her right that wrong even though he’s the one she wronged. I found it to be a delightful cat and mouse story with the cat unwittingly being the mouse. The only problem I have with this story is Miss Duffs knowledge of what occurs on the wedding night. In chapter six right before the wedding she wasn’t privy to what exactly happened on someone’s wedding night and had only heard enough about it to know it was something of a private nature. Then in chapter eight during their wedding night I found it questionable that without prior knowledge and instruction she would just climb on top of him the way she. As the sex occurs within marriage this is a clean read in my opinion. I love all the characters in the Marriage by Fate Series. And I sure hope Charles gets a book.

It is a light-hearted and charming piece.
This was a cute one not real happy with an arranged marriage Gill Easton finds that he does care for Heather but he wants her to have to work to get him to the altar. Only in this time setting could you get not one but two virgins and Gill’s mom well she not quite about it. If I had done something like that to my boys I would have been so dead. This book has humor and is just a fun read. Hope you pick it up I think you would enjoy it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
FLIPPING AND TRIPPING!!!
Jaw dropping! Ruth captivated me from the first page. I was floored by this refreshing spin on this take of the Regency Era no-no. You can not help but fall in love. All the botches, trips, snags, mishaps and mayhem takes you on one incredible adventure with this unconventional storyline and thrilling plot. This baby showcases 100% on point realism, kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of surprising events that keep you flipping page after page. Sparks fly as drama and suspense ensues in epic proportions. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and traits that rock this baby to its core. The scenes are described so colorfully you have no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play out it in your mind’s eye smooth as silk. Remarkable job Ruth, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Ruth Ann Nordin does it again with a LOL humorous, suspense, and romance. I loved the chemistry between Gill and Heather. Had me on edge of my seat wondering what would happen next, I couldn’t stop reading. Great summer read you won’t regret! I will defiantly be reading more from her!

This was a sweet and lighthearted story about pride, second chances, brotherly interference, hope, and love. As well as a bit of ”desperate times require desperate measures”. I especially appreciated that the story wasn’t bogged down with wishy washy mental monologues about how the other would be better off without them. The characters were brilliant, the plot was original and entertaining, and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This was such a sweet and funny story. I loved the characters. Heather was so much fun and Gill was too. This was a wonderful read.

“If you want something bad enough, you’ll fight for it.” Miss Heather Duff kept repeating that phrase to herself as she knocked on the door of Lord Powell’s residence. What a terrible mistake she had made when she did not accept Gill’s proposal, just because of those silly women and their club! But Lord Powell was now bethrothed to another and her conversation with him did not go well. She had turned him down when he’d asked her to marry him and now she wanted to say yes? It was too late.
Or was it? A determined Heather left the townhouse with her brother.
Gill quickly made his way to his friend Logan’s home and told him what was going on. Maybe he could determine if Heather really was in love with him by giving her a challenge to win him! Let the games begin!
Such a delightul story filled with humor and wonderful characters trying to get together for their happy every after! It just made me smile and cheer these two on as they tried for their second chance. I cannot wait to read more by this author!!
This was a cute romantic comedy that made for lighthearted reading. You’ve got a heroine that first says no to a proposal by the hero, then changes her mind when he’s betrothed to someone else, a hero who tries to play hard to get and the other cast of characters who all bring the story together.
I must say, though, that the heroine, Miss Heather Duff, was a bit too immature for my taste. After their marriage, she says they’ll have so much fun playing games and cards and even play hide n’ seek!! As for the hero, Gill Easton, Viscount Powell, it was lovely to find out that he was a virgin as well and I really had to giggle when his mother was very proud of stating that fact to whoever would listen! lol
This is a story that you can’t take too seriously because some parts are a bit far fetched so it is in fact just a fun story to read:) Giving this a 3.5 rating!

An interesting story with characters that will fascinate and annoy you equally, and was funny, sexy and sweet all rolled up in one. This has a twist to it the Viscount was kidnapped.
My free opinion. Thanks

4.5 stars. Heather tries so hard to fix her mistake of rejecting Gill’s marriage proposal and ends up in a world of problems. I liked getting to see Logan from Ruined by the Earl again. He does his best to help out the two. Gill wants to know that Heather is sincere in her desire to marry him. He concocts a plan to get her to prove it. The story is light and fun.
Miss Heather Duff let her petty friends influence her into turning down a marriage proposal from the love of her life. Fortunately, she’s come to her senses and realized her mistake. Unfortunately, her love is now engaged to someone else. No matter. Heather is determined to prove herself to him and get him back one way or another.
Gill Easton, Viscount Powell doesn’t really want to go through with the new betrothal his overbearing mother arranged for him, but his pride is still wounded. He doesn’t want to just take Heather back without making her work for it; he wants to be sure she truly loves him and doesn’t just want what she can’t have. He decides he must orchestrate her kidnapping of him and subsequent elopement, all the while ensuring she doesn’t know he’s the one behind it. He wants her to think it was all her idea.
This was a premise I usually don’t go for, but I thought it could be light-hearted, charming fun so I decided to give it a try. I’ve never read this author before and didn’t know what to expect, but the writing style wasn’t entirely to my taste. This was definitely quite whimsical and needed a suspension of disbelief. (For instance, these two were madly in love and yet didn’t even know each other’s first names.) Both main characters were naive to the point of unbelievability and lacked a certain depth to them. The driving force, as expected, was poor communication, but the farce carried on just a bit too long with dialogues that struggled to keep my attention. Both main characters lacked confidence in the other’s feelings but the continued to struggle to prove themselves to one another without actually speaking of it lost its comic edge a bit quickly for me; it rapidly just became repetitive. Overall, this was a light and fun read, although I did wind up skimming just a bit toward the end as I struggled to give it my full attention.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
You know it will make you laugh! Lord Powell and Lord Toplyn come up with a plan to have Miss Duff prove her love!
