Review:
The characters are well rounded and well developed. I really enjoy the friendship between Chelsea and Tilly, you can tell that they really care about each. And Emma is very cute and adds some comic relief during the book. Chelsea has to figure who the dead man is, what connection he has to her and who killed him. She is afraid that it might involve her sister, that she has not even met yet.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and I could picture the farm and all of the animals in my mind’s eye, and I liked what I saw. The mystery was well plotted and intriguing and there were enough suspects to make it interesting.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. This is a great series and one I really enjoy reading.
Chelsea is taking care of the animals and her friends you daughter again by herself for a week. Lots can happen in a week. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Another great story to add to the series!
I love reading more of the adventure that is Chelsea’s life contained in this wonderful series by CeeCee James. This is a well-written cozy mystery that I read in one sitting. The characters are realistic, and the friendship of Chelsea and Tilly is one to be desired. An entertaining whodunit and at times there is plenty of action to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I loved Kicked the Bucket! This book is fantastic. It is fun and entertaining. I love the characters. Chelsea is funny and relatable. The book is well written and engaging. I could not put the book down. The mystery is complex and has many twists to keep you guessing. Kicked the Bucket is full of suspense, humor, a touch of romance and fantastic characters. I highly recommend this book.
There is a lot of commotion going on while Chelsea and Tilly chase their dog, Jasper, through the field ending up a the pond on their property. The first thing Chelsea notices is a pail full of flowers and Jasper going after something in the pond. Then Chelsea and Tilly realize what Jasper is dragging to the shore. Tilly immediately makes a call to report a dead body in their pond. The body is that of somebody named Corey Brickstone, but neither Chelsea nor Tilly knew who he was. A short time later, Chelsea learns that Corey Brickstone is connected to her long lost sister, Nikki Campbell. Unfortunately, all attempts to contact Nikki or her father, William Campbell, have gone unanswered.
Chelsea’s friend, Tilly, is away on a photo assignment and Tilly’s daughter, Emma, is staying with her dad. This allows Chelsea more time to figure out the mystery. That is when the strange flowers start showing up everywhere she goes.
Who was Corey Brickstone? What was his relationship to Nikki? Why was he killed? Where are Nikki and her father? Are they safe? Can Chelsea figure out what is going on? Can she figure things out without endangering herself?
CeeCee James has added another fantastic installment of Chelsea Lawson’s life story. We learn more about her family’s past. The characters are very realistic and you can easily imagine yourself in the situations Chelsea finds herself facing. As with the other books in this series, the current mystery is solved, but the background story continues on.
