The last escapee arrives, the final highlander meets his match, but time has run out for them both. When falconer Kiaran Mag Raith’s kestrels find an unconscious woman on their morning hunt, he expects that she is for him. But unlike the other women who have become the mates of his clan brothers, her tattoo does not match his. Yet Kiaran dares to hope when he feels his cold heart stir for the … cold heart stir for the first time in his long life.
Lillias must take the name that Kiaran bestows on her because she can’t remember her own. Nor does she have any memory of the underworld, the other ladies, or the handsome falconer. All she has is the ancient Pritani pendant she wears and an inexplicable feeling of dread.
But as Lillias and Kiaran draw closer to one another and the puzzle of who she is, Galan leads the Sluath to their doorstep. While the clan makes ready as best as they can, Cul, the castle’s ancient occupant, sees his centuries long plan come to its final fruition.

I have been waiting for Kiaran’s story for quite a while and it did not disappoint. Kiaran has always been different from the rest of his brothers and his connection to his kestrels intrigued me from the start. Now knowing how they came to escape from the Sluath, the ultimate confrontation between the two groups is even more interesting. This final book in the series was a fantastic ending to an amazing series.
Fantastic!
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Kiaran’s story and it didn’t disappoint.
Not only does Kiaran find his true mate, but so many storylines are wrapped up in a quite satisfying manner.
It’s a fitting story to end this series. Well done Hazel Hunter, well done.
Kiaran (Immortal Highlander, Clan Mag Raith Book 5): A Scottish Time Travel Romance Kiaran
Immortal Highlander, Clan Mag Raith #5
Hazel Hunter
When Kiaran Mag Raith takes his kestrels out for their morning hunt and they find an unconscious woman lying among the flowers he expects that she must be meant for him, but unlike the other women who have become the mates of his clan brothers, her tattoo does not match his. Dare Kiaran hope for more as he feels the ice of his heart start to crack for the first time in his long life?
Lillias must accept the name that Kiaran has given her because for the life of herself she just can not seem to remember what her name is. Nor does she seem to have any memory of the underworld, the other ladies, or the handsome falconer. All she had was the ancient Pritani pendant she woke up wearing and an inexplicable feeling of dread.
But as Lillias and Kiaran draw closer to one another and the puzzle of who she really is begins to click together, Galan leads the Sluath straight to Dun Chill. While the clan gets as ready as they can for an all out war with the Sluath, Cul, the castle’s ancient occupant and beast, sees his centuries long plan finally come to a head. Will the Mag Raith Clan be able to win a war against the Sluath? Will Cul be able to fight along side them or will he have his own agenda to attend to?
Hazel Hunter writes what I think is the best Clan Mac Raith book yet. This novel is fabulously mind bending. One of the best things about Ms. Hunters time travel series is that we always get to spend what seems like special time with past characters that we may have already really liked. Then we get a new heroine for every hero that was originally part of the clan. Lillias is the heroine this time and I absolutely adored her. Her character seemed to have a calming effect on me. Lillias was made for Kiaran. Where he was all angels, planes, and ice, she was soft, sultry, and sweet. They fit together so well that you didn’t mind giving up your book boyfriend at the end of the story. This final installment of Clan Mac Raith has more twists and turns than you can imagine. From the moment I opened this book and started reading until the moment I finished I was held spellbound. In my opinion this book is definitely a winner. Once again you have written another wonderful story that I truly enjoyed Ms. Hunter and for that I say thank you.
Just wow! I was a little afraid of how this series was going to end as I’ve adored each and every installment. Hazel Hunter nailed it. This is an amazing conclusion that I didn’t see coming. Impossible to put down, this one is a compulsive page turner.
Wow! What a rollercoaster ride this book was! So many twists and turns in the story, you just have to keep reading right up to the end. Have your tissues handy. I absolutely loved Kiaran’s book. The characters are well-developed, the storyline is exciting and the final Mag Raith gets his girl…or does he! This has been a fantastic series. I can’t wait to see what Hazel has up her sleeve for us next.
I read this book as an ARC, for a review. Kiaran finds his mate in the forest, surrounded by his birds. He names her Lillas. Kiaran does not feel deserving of her love. Kiaran continues to keep his secret, and isolates himself from his clan. He is fighting the changes in his body. Kiaran does not want to become another being. He prefers to die. Lillas is a halfling connected to Cul. Lillas helped the clan and their mates in the under world. What did she do? Will the Sluath be defeated? Will Kiaran join with his mate? Will Cul be confronted by the clan? In this book all the answers come to light. You need to read this series in order. I loved this book!
Been a while since I read this book however all of her books are great I love the time travel books
This series has been a wonderful adventure from the start. The men of the Clan Mag Raith and the women destined to be their mates have been phenomenal. Kiaran and Lillias’ romance lived up to all my expectations. The book had it all surprises, danger and chemistry. I will definitely revisit this series.
Falconer Kiaran mag Raith and his Kestrels find an unconscious woman but her tattoos do not match his so he can’t be his other half or can she? Plus he has been keeping his own secret.
When Lillias wakes up she has no memories of her name why she us here and what happened. She does have an ancient pritani pendent and a feeling of dread. So not good but she is more then she seems to be. And Kiaran and Lillias do feel an attraction. But their lives can never be that simple. Not yet anyways. The crazy and evil Galan who use to be druid and now it something closer to Sluath is making trouble. The Evil soul sucking Sluaths are out there wanting to kill them and anyone else they come across. And still the Ancient one who lives in the walls of the Castle the mag Raith have made their home has his planes .
Lots of surprises, betrayal, action, drama, mystery, and so much more. Who will win? I LOVED this series. The characters are awesome! You don’t want to miss this story or the whole series! I couldn’t put it down.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
Thrilling ending
Kiaran took on a life of its own and I absolutely loved this final adventure with the Mag Raith. When he discovers a woman who has no name at the Castle, he wonders if she’s meant for him. Lillias however, brings with her secrets which unravel the entire mystery of every question asked in this series and more
A must read series and can’t wait to see what Hazel gives us next Thank you to Hazel for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review.
I enjoyed reading this fifth book, it has a good storyline. There is action and adventure, the chemistry and interaction between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Remarkable story…
What an amazing conclusion to a wonderful series. Ms. Hunter did a remarkable job of tying up all the loose ends and ensuring that all questions were answered. If you haven’t started this series, I suggest you start from the beginning and binge to your heart’s content.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Wow what an amazing end to one of the best time travel series I’ve ever read. If you haven’t read this series from beginning to end you are missing out! Hazel Hunter has brought this book to such a satisfying end I can’t even tell you. Every loose end has been tied up, every question answered and then some. Kiaran and Lillias had an epic love story! I had no idea how Hazel would set Kiaran back to rights. He seemed too far gone, had told too many lies and ostracized himself for so long. Lillias was such a mystery too. Her story is sad and yet she’s so heroic and brave. I loved her psychic gifts and also her connection to Cul. Hazel Hunter humanized a monster and made me feel for him and his sacrifice. She stuck it to the bad guys and I loved how they suffered! They were so evil. Stunning love scenes, I mean seriously, breath taking. In a storm, on the wing, I can’t say any more but you see where I’m going with this. This book was a work of art and I couldn’t put it down. I powered through because I had to know what was next! You’ve got to read this book! But first read all the books prior to it as you’ll have the whole picture. Can’t wait to see what she writes next.
This is a great conclusion to the series. I recommend you read them all. They are great time travel adventures with lots of action.
This final book brings many twists before tying up the loose ends from the other stories as well.
I really thought they were made for each other even when there was some doubt as to their fate. She really helped him heal.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
