Josie wanted a change…and moving to paradise sight-unseen seemed like a reasonable way to go about it. That is until she stepped off the airplane and straight into a holiday season heatwave! From the humidity to the local residents (and not just the two-legged kind), Josie is in for a wake-up call. Luckily, her lovable new landlady Esterline, and the surprisingly charming local dive shop owner, … dive shop owner, Nate, are hoping to convince her that living in paradise is worth it if she’ll just give it a chance.
With his laid-back Margaritaville attitude, Nate embarks on a mission to show Josie that Christmas in Key West is just as magical as the snowy holiday season that she’s used to.
But is Christmas in the Keys more of a change than she bargained for? Will the aftershock of her rash decision to move have her retreating to familiar territory? Or will her quirky new friends win her over, helping her give this fresh start a shot?
Grab your sunscreen and sail on down to the tropical shores for some sandy white Christmas fun —Key West style!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is a sweet, contemporary stand-alone short story with an HEA ending! The story is a clean romance with no offensive language.

Josie works for a travel agency in Virginia. Her long-time boyfriend Mike has been spending more and more time away from Josie and more and more time at his office. Josie is very disturbed by this and when an opening occurs in the Florida office she decides to transfer to the Key West office of the travel agency.
Upon arriving in Florida Josie realizes Florida is much different from Virginia and as the holidays approach she is getting increasingly homesick. She is used to having snow for Christmas and it just doesn’t seem like Christmas in Florida. Josie’s landlady and a neighbor who runs a dive shop show Josie what Christmas is like in Florida and that snow isn’t needed for a merry Christmas. This could be a new beginning for Josie. This is a very enjoyable Christmas in July story by Sophie Mays.

A White Beach Christmas
If you are dreaming of packing it all in and getting away from your life, and let’s be honest who hasn’t had this dream from time to time, then Key West Christmas is the perfect Christmas book for you.
Josie has done exactly what we all dream of at times. She up and moved to Key West, Florida on a whim to take a job for the company she works for. What Josie encounters as she tries to settle in to her new surroundings is different than what she had thought. As Christmas and the holiday season approaches she become more and more homesick and questions if the move was right or not as she does miss a white Christmas. But Nate, the local hunky dive shop owner is more than happy to show Josie just how good Christmas can be with sunshine, warm breezes and white beaches.
Key West Christmas is the first book that I have read by Sophie Mays and I was impressed. She has done a really good job of developing a coherent story-line and good characters, including a few more colorful locals. It made me remember a few Christmases that I spent with white beaches instead of white snow. I only wish I had a Nate to show me just how great it could be. Well maybe next time I will……………one can only hope!!!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
3 1/2 stars .Christmas in Florida was a quick, enjoyable read. Wish it was a bit longer to explore the characters more. Josie was ok as a main character, not my favorite though

Josie moves to Florida just before Christmas, after having split amicably with her boyfriend of several years.
But December n the Keys without a boyfriend or family looks depressing, as she does not know anyone at all.
But when she meets Nate, he promises her to show her that one can find the Christmas Spirit also in the warm climate of Florida and they embark on a journey of discovery – finding not only Christmas, but also each other.
A lovely story showing the difficulty of adapting to a new environment and culture, as well as a sweet romantic story. Well-written and entertaining.

I really enjoyed the story, his indecision about feelings were interesting to watch. I also found her trying to decide if “Christmas” in Key West was worth it or not. I also enjoyed her landlady.
Very good story!

Josie made an abrupt decision to transfer to the Key West Florida office of the Travel Chain she worked for. Her long term boyfriend Mike and she had allegedly shared a condo for five years, but he was seldom home- and mostly in his office when he was there. Josie wanted a relationship where there were shared times and activities sometimes- and that was never going to be with Mike.
Florida is a different world, if not a different universe from up north. Her Haitian landlady brought out the tropical flair of the keys, and she met a near neighbor man who was a refugee from the world of finance and banking in Chicago.
Nothing like a bit of home at Christmas though, and the thoughtful man helped manage the holidays too.
For Josie, despite some homesickness and culture shock, it might just be beginning to look a lot like Christmas- and home.

This was a short story and I enjoyed it very much. It made me laugh, cry, and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I can’t wait to read another book by this author in the future.

This was a good little holiday romance and I really liked both Nate and Josie they were good likable characters and really well suited to each other did not understand her moving in with the ex though. I enjoyed the storyline this as a good read to curl up with for an hour or two.
I had read an earlier version where Josie was from Philadelphia, but the second time through, even with the switch to Richmond, was just as much fun as the first. This is another family-friendly read from Sophie Mays featuring an almost-30 female fleeing a bad relationship in Richmond and a 32-year-old ex-banker from Chicago. I read this ARC in an afternoon.

Interesting Christmas romance. Josie packs up and moves to the Florida Keys. Nate runs a dive shop. The characters are personable. Just a short Christmas romance that I found very enjoyable.
Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses:
Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses – A collection of six stories by an author I haven’t read before this collection. The Introduction has overviews of all six books, which I appreciate knowing about a story before I read it. All six are clean, quickly read and interesting; perfect for relaxing with a cuppa. Needs minor editing. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 4*
From New York, With Love – Yankee city girl finds the South not as backwards, out-of-date and uncultured as she naively thought originally. She learns what is really important. 3.5*
A Whole Latte Christmas – A fun, heartwarming story filled with family and love while she learns to trust love again. My favorite story, just perfect for a cuppa and a snuggle. 4*
Key West Christmas – I’m wrong; this is my favorite story! A heartwarming story of change made better by a fun, loving, caring man and a good landlady turned friend. Learning to make new traditions. 5*
A Girl’s Guide To Creating Christmas – One of the best Christmas stories I’ve read in a long time. Fun, heartwarming and filled with the wonders and true meaning of Christmas. A second chance at life and love. 5*
Santa Baby, Maybe –
Scottish Holiday –
Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses End.
To Love … and … Renovate #2 – I didn’t get to read the first book of this series, which I think would have made this book more meaningful to me. Well written and easy to read with likable characters and a plot full of happenings. Of course, there’s wedding details still to be completed, working at their jobs and trying to wait for the wedding night, why wouldn’t there be drama? But there was fun and laughter, too. A good balance throughout the book. I liked Virginia’s calm approach to the wedding preparations. Oh, don’t forget the elephant in the pink tutu – the renovations. I appreciate this being a clean story, which only needed minor editing. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 4*
