11/20/2020 “Kerrick” (nook) was an intriguing book with one puzzle after-the-other. Kerrick is ready to move on with his life and quickly gets involved in Amanda’s kidnapping. He is perceptive and intelligent and gradually solves the first puzzle in finding Amanda. Then they both are quickly involved with intrigue. A great HEA.
It was the 1st I read from this author I enjoyed it completely plan on reading a lot more of her work So keep writing we need people like you out there so we can get through this Time in our historyTime in our history it’s not a good time but with riders like you it makes it easier Rosalie from Texas
Loved the characters and the all the twists and turns.
I normally really like this type of book, special ops hero book.
Unfortunately I didn’t really care for this book.
The female character just didn’t seem plausible so it was difficult to follow the storyline and get into the book.
Not my favorite this time….
good story line…I love everything by this author.
Good!
When I need a good book to read I can always count on Dale Mayer for a story that just sucks you in and keep your attention until the end. When I start reading, I become part of the story and just can’t put it down, its like the characters become friends. Well Kerrick is such a story I sure hope you in joy the book I know I sure did.
Good storyline and very realistic
The bulk of the book was an interesting read, and I enjoyed it. The end, however, was so unbelievably over the top that it ruined the story. Hence, a mere 3 stars.
Anything written by this author is excellent
Not one of her best. A little slow.
Some intrigue, with action. Brief glimpse into illegal organ trading. Inconsistencies in geography kept grabbing my attention, like London and Liverpool being really close, or Dover being a quick drive from London. They are definitely not half hour drives.
The romance was a bit flat for me.
In “Kerrick” by Dale Mayer readers are taken to California to meet Kerrick Cassidy a decorated Navy SEAL officer who has also worked in government sanctioned black ops. He has reached a point in his career where he is not sure what he wants to do next. He has lost his wife and daughter in an accident and wonders if he could ever have a real, significant relationship ever again. He is called upon by a friend going by the name of “Beta” and asked to join a two man undercover mission in a government sanctioned Black ops operation which they will call “The Maverick”. Beta will lead at a distance and Kerrick will basically be on his own. Beta tells him he will be helped with whatever intelligence and any other things he needs. A few days later he meets Beta again and is given an envelop containing a microdot, a picture of Dr. Amanda Berg, a kidnapped young biochemist who was working on a cure for cancer and a plane ticket to England where she is supposed to be. When he gets into the cab which he finds waiting for him, he is also given a carry-on duffel bag containing the clothes he had already packed, a small backpack, a box containing a pair of sunglasses and a Bluetooth headpiece that went into an accompanying burner phone with one number already on it. When he gets to the airport he calls the number on the burner phone and is told to put on the sunglasses which will contain all the information he needs. The microdot Beta gave him fit into the sunglasses. Then the author, Dale Mayer, takes us to meet Dr. Amanda Berg who is locked in a concrete cell and kept drugged when she eats the bare minimum of food she is given once a day. When Amanda, tired and distraught, hears banging coming from the ceiling above her, she responds with like banging and realizes that someone above her is signaling to her in Morse Code. We learn that the person signaling to her is a ten year old boy genius who has also being kidnapped and held prisoner. Kerrick is joined by Griffin, another agent, after he locates Amanda’s whereabouts, and together they have to rescue Amanda and keep her safe. Readers will not be able to put the book, “Kerrick”, down and will join Kerrick and Griffin as they follow intel to find out why Amanda was kidnapped. I highly recommend the book to all readers who enjoy mysteries and spy stories as much as I do.
A great new series where military men don’t think their too old, but when it comes to new guys younger than you and your delusioned with the higher ups when it comes to getting the job done as a Navy Seal you start to wonder if it’s worth it all. Kerrick is one of these men, 34 and a widow hasn’t gotten over the loss of his wife and child years ago. Until someone from his past starts a new black ops group and wants him to be head of it. Lots of action and betrayals. Great read.
It was not as action packed or romantic as the other books. It was stiff and the story line lacked passion to it. Still love the author though. Excellent stories!
I read everything I can by this author. He is one of the best I have found(and I read alot). All of his books are well written and are page turners. You can be assured a good read with anything you read by Dale Mayer.
This is a fast-paced storyline full of action and intrigue. if you like romance, suspense, drama, mystery and hot alpha males then this book is right for you! The characters are well developed and captivating. The twist and turns will keep your interest and have you turning pages. A great start to a new series. I look forward to reading the next book.
Kerrick by Dale Mayer
The Mavericks Series Book One
Kerrick Cassidy was ready for something new in his life. Ever since his wife and baby died, he’d buried himself in the navy. But, his time there was done. When an old friend calls and offers him a new job…he accepts. In no time at all he finds himself in England searching for a kidnapped victim with an unknown team at his fingertips.
Dr. Amanda Berg was so close to finding a cure for cancer. She was up to the human trial stage. Her dream after losing a friend to cancer so young. Only…life changes when she’s kidnapped. She has to escape the first chance she gets…and, she has to help another victim escape this hellhole.
And thus the adventure begins in this new series. Kerrick is joined by Griffin and together they’ll do all they can to protect Amanda and the young boy she rescued, as well as getting to the bottom of this kidnapping ring. Another good series from this author.

Kerrick is the first book in the new Mavericks series. The Maverick’s are a government-sanctioned black ops organization. Kerrick, a Navy seal, is looking for a change after years in the SEALs. When asked to help with one mission, he decides that this is the change that he needs. His assignment is to rescue a kidnapped scientist, but to keep her safe he needs to find who is behind the kidnapping. This book starts with a lot of action and does not stop until the end. Of course along with all the action is a happily ever romance. This is the start of another great Dale Mayer series
