I loved this book! Was it dark? Yes, it had its dark moments. Was it hopeful? Yes, in a way. What kind of person gives away his wife and kids to settle a debt with a gangster? I loved the plot, and I was constantly surprised at the depth of the emotions that Lilly was expected to get over. In the beginning, her whole life was kind of just a veneer of what her real life was supposed to be. She was just going through the motions of what her husband expected of her. She wasn’t happy. Oddly, it felt like her loser husband actually saved her by giving her away. Lucifer is a dark character. He is a bad man. His character does things to other people that are just not normal. This book was hot. I loved that I loved the emotional growth that occurs in the two main characters. Quite honestly, I loved the violence. There are some pretty graphic scenes, both intimate and vulgar. I have only read like two Mafia type books completely. That I finished this one in one read through should let you know that it is totally worth reading. As a matter of fact, I’m going to read it again, it was that good!
Read the 2nd story in this series and had to come back and read the 1st. Loved it! Makes so much more sense getting to know Lucifer and Lily more. Lucifer is a beast and he shows a side nobody else has seen when hes with Lily and her kids. Great story!
This was a very interesting plot for a romance book. However, I loved it. Hope you will too.
“Keeping Lily” isn’t your average romantic story, but in some twisted way it does have a happy ending in it’s own way. Lily was sold to this crime lord in exchange for a debt her husband owed. The story only gets more twisted from there, but I enjoyed it.
This was a dark read as projected in the synopsis. I kept putting it down because I couldn’t stand to read what happened next. I knew it would be an intense story with lots of graphic details about torture. I did finish it and was rooting for the heroine to have a better choice but the authors worked it out. I read the sequel as well. Equally as dark and intense but interesting.
I just couldn’t accept how easy she left her life behind or that she was willing to have her child around this kind of man. Not believable.
Enjoy every word. Will red more books by this author.
A dark read but had a HEA.
Couldn’t put it down! Wonderful writing, never disappointed.
Got boring early on
Unexpected events . Great character building. I will read again. My new go to book!!
Great steamy read
I read this out of morbid curiosity and it was a surprisingly easy read. The man likes her and treats her good given the circumstances, but a little too good given the nature. Makes you think about Stockholm syndrome while being twistedly entertaining.
Loved the unexpected story line and emotional side.
Found some errors though but a good book to read
I liked this story even though the premis seemed a little far fetched. The story is told by Lily and Lucifer. Lucifer takes Lily and her children as payment for the $5 million debt Lily’s husband incurred. Grammatical errors and errors that could have been corrected through editing really pulled my out of the story several times. If it wasn’t such a quick read I may have put it down for good.
Great book stayed entrained great characters
Great Read!!! I couldn’t put this one down. Great story, real characters and the pace was fact and lots of sex, action, and suspense.
Started to read this, but could only get about 25% through before giving up. Ridiculously unrealistic and repetitive.
Really steamy and hot with insta-everything, this quick read is great for some really entertaining escapism. I plan to read the next book in this series.
