Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy. Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not … not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.
Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.
Even if her heart beats for another man.
Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

How do you put in to words a story that takes years of love, laughter, and pain and wraps them in a package under heartbreak and hope? The amazing duo that is Kennedy Fox saved the most detailed and heavy Bishop for last. Readers who have stuck alongside the series have openly waited for the tricky twin Jackson’s story behind his playboy ways. As family and friends have outwardly teased him about his feelings towards his best friend, Kiera. What they don’t see, is the side of himself that her reserves for her. Sweet, caring, and always supportive; while moments in their childhood were filled with laughter and memories, the pain Jackson feels now that she may be lost to him is greater than he anticipated. But this Bishop is stronger than anyone knows and the strength he truly holds inside as he watches Kiera about to marry another man is truly heartbreaking.
Kiera is headstrong in her own way, you have to we working with horses and growing up around the Bishop boys. She fell in love with Jackson when they were teenagers but he never pushed the boundaries past friendship or even showed her signs he was leaning that way. He was into any other girl he could get his hands on and as much as that broke Kiera, she also got the message and steeled her heart away. Finding Trent and having the whirlwind romance with him is unexpected but a dream come true. As they get closer and closer to their wedding day, Kiera can’t fight the urge to wonder what life could’ve been if she had her cowboy in place of the man by her side. Memories are painful enough but when Jackson begins to show signs of not handling her engagement well and that he may have had feelings for her this whole time too…other things come to light. Nothing is handled lightly; though their friendship has been unshakeable, this may be the event that could shatter them forever.
Now spoiler free here…but be warned that you will want quiet, wine, and something to bring yourself comfort when reading this romance. The supposed climax is right at the beginning and I LOVED getting to read the back and forth up to the pivotal wedding day. The tension between Kiera and Jackson was palpable, just knowing what they were heading towards. But if you think you know everything, you are poorly informed. There are other forces at play here that had me gasping and clutching my chest in shock. Epiphany’s, life altering decisions, and the risk of losing a HEA are at every corner. KF definitely set the bar high with this tale, I swear they save the end of their series for the high stakes drama and it is WORTH IT! So sit down, stock up, and buckle up for one insane ride with my next 5 star read!
I’ve been anticipating Jackson and Kiera’s story for a long time, so I absolutely couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Now I’ve got a bit mixed feelings with this one, however, I’ve just been having an off week with the books I’ve been reading. So for now, I’m amounting this mixed review to my off-week, I apologize in advance.
I’m going to start off by saying that I did love this book and finally got the most anticipated happy ever after! I’ve been so curious as to why Jackson never made his feelings known towards Kiera, but my goodness, once everything is revealed, my heart was absolutely breaking for him. Jackson has got to be one of the most selfless, yet selfish Bishop brother ever. I understood his reasons for never telling Kiera the truth about how he felt, but it also wanted me to hit him upside the head and be like, come on! Let’s just say a lot of time was wasted, but that was their story. Not always an easy one, but they got there eventually.
Jackson was a playboy-jerk and I was just waiting for someone to give him a taste of his own medicine. And I knew it wouldn’t be pretty if that time came. He’s not perfect and he irritated me quite a bit in this one. But the one thing you can’t fight is the insane connection and relation that Jackson and Kiera have. They’re childhood best friends and they’re both pivotal in each other’s lives. Nothing will change that, even the fact that Kiera is set to marry somebody else. Plus, it’s damn near impossible to resist the ever so sexy and smooth, Jackson.
Kiera, she’s sweet and deserves everything good in her life. And all Jackson ever wanted for her was to be truly happy, even if it wasn’t with him. I got rather frustrated with Kiera because she constantly made up excuses for why people did the things they did. The signs or red flags were staring at her right in the face, but she chose to ignore it. She kept that going much further than I thought she would and it was leading towards something disastrous. I’ve always had the feeling that things with Trent were progressing too quickly.
At first, I wasn’t exactly on board with the way the book was written, with the timeline starting from when they were teenagers, around the time of Kiera’s engagement, her wedding and finally, present day. But we were warned that it was going to be a bit of a slow burn, we don’t get to the present day until about 50ish% or so. Despite my feelings towards that, I was rather thankful for it in the end, we really got to see the progression of Kiera and Trent’s relationship, which was something we don’t even get a hint of in the other books in this series. Trent was not my favorite person at all and things were slowly piling against him (I was rather surprised by him in this one, he definitely wasn’t who I thought he was). But Jackson’s not a perfect person either, his jealousy and hate towards Trent only fueled the tension between them. Jealousy sure is a green monster and these two had it. But Trent’s jealousy leads him towards something much more hateful and rather unforgivable.
So yeah, Kiera, Jackson, and Trent all had their faults in this story. I didn’t agree with a lot of the things that they did. But it’s evident that a lot of things would have been avoided if they were just honest with each other from the beginning. However, I know we wouldn’t have a story if things didn’t happen the way they did between them. And it sure is a crazy story with a bit of unexpected suspense!
Keeping Him was indeed a slow-burn of a sort because of the time it takes for them to finally admit to each other their feelings, the drama and angst are there as well, the twists and turns and a bit of suspense. Kennedy Fox definitely knows how to weave a story together to keep you hooked the entire time, it was so easy to devour this book. I’m so sad to say farewell to this series, I’ve loved every single one of the Bishop brothers. But at last, they all have their happy ever afters! Keeping Him wasn’t quite what I was hoping it would be, but I’m overjoyed that Jackson finally pulled his head out of his ass and got his girl 😉
OH MY GOSH! Who else totally screeched in excitement when this story finally became available, because I know I totally did! The dynamic duo Kennedy Fox have been teasing us with thoughts of Jackson Bishop and Kiera Young’s story ever since the start of the Bishop Brothers series and I almost didn’t believe that it was finally here. These two certainly captivated my heart right from the very beginning and it broke every time Jackson did something stupid, which happened A LOT because that boy needed a good quick in the butt.
Keeping Him by Kennedy Fox is the highly anticipated final installment in the Bishop Brothers series and I didn’t want to reach the end. This is the story that every reader has been craving since the start and it was EVERYTHING plus MORE! Readers get a sexy, angsty, emotional, and drama filled friends-to-lovers romance that will melt your heart with that slow burning feeling. Get ready for one of the best rollercoaster rides of your life because you are about to experience some pretty wicked twists and turns when you dive into Jackson and Kiera’s story.
Although each book in the Bishop Brothers series can be read as a standalone, I strongly urge you to start at the very beginning with Taming Him in order to have the best reading experience! I hope you enjoy this entire series as much as I did!

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story and I was right to be anxious! The last book in the Bishop Boys series was by far the most angsty and I’m not going to lie and say I liked it from cover to cover but gah, when author duo Kennedy Fox finally gave us our HEA, they went big.
Jackson Bishop and Keira Young are the lovers we’ve waited for since book one. Best friends since childhood, they are as close as two people can be. Always friends first but just beneath the surface was a love untapped. Kiera has been in love with Jackson since she knew what that funny feeling was but instead of revealing her feelings, she waited for him to wise up while he went through hordes of women. His playboy tendencies and drunken behavior should’ve been enough to put him firmly in her rearview but her love was unconditional, although unrequited. She went through years of pain watching Jackson’s one night stands and bar fights. After waiting 15 years for him to make a move, she’s moving on with a seemingly perfect guy. She loves Trent and can’t wait to be married but in the small quiet moments, she still can’t stop thinking about what might’ve been with Jackson.
Jackson has hidden his love for Kiera for over a decade. Believing himself unworthy of her, he keeps her tight by his side as his best friend while pushing her away by sleeping his way through town. In his mind, loving her means he has to let her go on with someone who can supply all her dreams, never realizing he himself is all she’s ever dreamed of.
While I loved the book, I wanted to flat out strangle both Kiera and Jackson on numerous occasions! Honestly, I think the closeness of the relationship between Kiera and Jackwon would make even the most secure of men question it. I believe some of Trent’s issues weren’t entirely unfounded but I also think as desperate as Keira was for her happily ever after, she ignored signs that Trent wasn’t as perfect as he seemed. In addition, Jackson frustrated me to no end with his sleeping around and juvenile behavior. Bar fights, being hungover every day and being the one night king isn’t cute, especially in your 30’s. Everyone in town knows he loves his best friend but he just keeps burying himself in piles of panties and booze. He made me crazy.
But…as frustrated as I was, I LOVED seeing both of them fall and grow in their love. It was everything I’d waited for! I’m sad to see this series end but Colton’s book gives me hope we’ll see the Bishop clan again!

Oh my word Kennedy Fox has saved the best for last and finally the chemistry between these two is at a boiling point. I loved that Kennedy Fox shows us a glimpse of how these two became friends and hello their truth and dare games was brilliance in the making. Have to say I have grown to love Jackson since the beginning and Kiera is definitely a Bishop woman in the making. This is one of those books that will make you feel everything from heartache, surprised, upset and in the end just wowza. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
We finally have Jackson’s story!!
I do suggest you read these in order because you will see how everyone knew about how Jackson felt, even when he wasn’t admitting it and trying to hide it.
We get all of his reasons in this book. And we see how Kiera and Jackson were when they were younger.
I didn’t know if Jackson just didn’t like Trent because of jealousy before this book. But, we do get the full story. I don’t want to say too much because I would hate to give anything away.
Kiera and Jackson are perfect together. I love how everything ended up for them. It may have been a rough and rocky road, but they got through it together.
Trent is a complete ass. So is Nicole. They got theirs though.
This is a great ending to this series and I’m so happy that Colton is getting a book also.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

If you have been reading the Bishops Brothers series this is book four and is Jackson and Kiera’s story. I have been looking so forward to this book since I read the first book. He is the family jerk.
I have been so curious about Jackson for a while and Keeping Him does not disappoint. He and Kiera have been friends since they were fifteen years old. Kiera has had a thing for him for that long too but feels like Jackson has no feelings for her. He lives his life the way that he wants to and makes no apologies about it and you can so see how Kiera would be clueless as to how Jackson feels. This leads to Trent and Kiera falling into a relationship. After all she can not wait around forever for Jackson. This is where the stories hold some serious angst and surprises as they all seem to have their own relationship with Trent and there is a serious story to be told and it will explain why Jackson lives the kind of live he does and why the Jackson Kiera knew is not unrecognizable to her. I just don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so I am sorry for being so cryptic when talking about all this. If you have read a Kennedy Fox book before you know that you have opened a book that your not going to be able to put down. I didn’t want to move from my reading spot and was so engrossed in this book that I lost time in the day and almost forgot to cook supper. If you too have been looking forward to Jackson’s story your going to love it as much as I did I promise and your not going to be disappointed. Buckle up though it is going to be a bumpy ride with a possible spin cycle thrown in here and there. I am too sad though since this is the last book in the Bishop Brothers Series. I have enjoyed every single one of these books but am looking forward to where Kennedy Fox takes us next.
I have been waiting for Jackson’s book since the beginning of this series and Kennedy fox knocked it out of the park with this one and made it my favourite of the series. They brought the big guns out with this one and saved the best for last.
Jackson and Keira’s story has been brewing since the first book and I have been rooting for them the whole way through. You know their journey isn’t going to be easy as 15 years of unrequited love and pain for them to get through.
Kennedy Fox brought so much raw emotion into this one. One minute I was laughing and the next minute I was in tears.
For the first part of the book you go back and forth between the present and the past. I really loved seeing what has gone on in the last 15 years between Keira and Jackson. It was such a rollarcoaster. I knew there was more to Jackson then we had seen before so it was nice to see the true him.
I really want to rave about this book but if I do I will spoil it for you. If you haven’t read these books then I recommend starting at the beginning as even though you can read them as standalones I wouldn’t. You will want to fall in love with the Bishops and you won’t want to spoil these sexy AF boys stories by jumping ahead.
KF’s writing is flawless as usual so I am excited to see what they bring us next. This duo are simply amazing together as they bring gripping plots, addictive characters to life.
5 I’ve Been Swooned Off My Feet Stars!!!
These Bishop Brothers books have been quite the ride. I mean I’m always up for hot and sexy cowboys who love their women hard and with each book I fall in love hard with each brother. But oh mylanta Jackson Joseph Bishop is ALL THAT AND SO MUCH MORE!!!
This book is one epic romance. Jackson and Kiera are best friends who have always had more than friendly feelings for each other but they won’t admit it for a variety of reasons. Kiera for her part was pretty upfront with her feelings but Jackson, being the man he is, doesn’t reveal his feelings until it’s almost too late.
I loved the friendship our H/h shared. They were for the most part honest and truthful with each other which leads to plenty of fun times for their #truthordare moments! I admired Kiera for moving forward with another man. However, it wasn’t smooth sailing for them because there’s just so much to this man that actually quite shocked me but they managed to get past it….until Jackson FINALLY makes his feelings known.
I literally did a fist pump when this move happens and this for me is when I fell harder for Jackson. This man is everything Kiera thought he would be and so much more. They have a consuming passion for each other and Jackson has some surprises for our girl and holy wowza, I was fanning myself repeatedly. Their love is one that cannot be questioned but there’s some forces that don’t want our couple to find their HEA. I really wasn’t expecting the intrigue and suspense that takes this book delivered. My heart was beating fast and I really wanted to hurt someone! How dare they keep our lovers apart!!
What it all comes down to is that Keeping Him delivered everything I wanted for Jackson. Being with the woman he’s always loved brings out a side of him that we haven’t seen before and he swept me off my feet with how romantic and sexy he can be. Kiera is one lucky woman to have this man love her and I’m really hoping we get more of the Bishop family because I can’t imagine my life without them!
Wow oh Wow, I cannot believe I have come to the end of another Kennedy Fox book series. This is a sad day! But what a way to finish another fantastic series. I know the Bishop brothers started as a spin off from the Checkmate Duet series but it has definitely got a firm fan in me. I mean what is there not to love about intense, hot, sexy, alpha males, who are freaking Cowboys!
Keeping Him finally brings us the story of the most outrageous of the Bishops, The Jackson Bishop- playboy extraordinaire, and his life long best friend Kiera Young. We have been following Jackson and Kiera in the background during all the other Bishop brothers storylines, but it is now D-day for this couple.
Jackson loves Kiera, Kiera loves Jackson, everyone else in the entire town knows how they feel about each other, it has been going on from they where fifteen. Now in their early thirties Kiera has given up waiting and is about to marry a man who wants her. Denying her feelings for Jackson has become like second nature at this point, every time she sees him with another woman it is like a dagger to her heart and she has decided that moving on is the best thing for her.
Jackson is an idiot! There is really no other word to describe how daft he is being in regards to Kiera. With the way he acts, the cocky, confident self-assured man-child you wouldn’t think he had so many insecurities when it comes to Kiera. He thinks he isn’t good enough for her and refuses to put himself out there for fear of being hurt later down the line. But anyone can see how much she loves him, and he has done everything in his power to try and make her hate him. Well time has run out! It’s the wedding day, what will Jackson do? What will Kiera do?
This book is a serious slow burn. Because of their history, Jackson and Kiera have so much more to tell us that just what is in their future, we are treated to the lead up to the wedding and how Jackson begins to spiral the closer the day gets, however he is not the only one spiralling out of control. There are some crazy twists in the road ahead.
Actions have consequences let’s hope the price to pay is not too steep.
A show stopping finale, I will miss the Bishop brothers so much. Each story has taken me on an exciting journey all leading back to Circle B Ranch. This has been an amazingly wild ride and I am just so sad it has come to an end.
You do not want to miss out on these fine as heck Cowboys! Yeehaw!
Party boy Jackson, what really makes him tick? Finally, getting to peek inside Jackson’s head to understand why he pushes Kiera away at every turn even though you can tell he loves her. So many surprises about this sexy cowboy. Kiera, she thinks she has found love but deep down she knows Jackson will always hold her heart. I loved how she left Trent. I will say that Trent rubbed me the wrong way. This all leads to small town drama. I have enjoyed Kiera and Jackson from the first book. Their interactions, banter and connection are very natural and fun. This is a couple I have rooted for from the first moment they connected and was anxiously taking this journey to see if they would get their happily ever after. I was not disappointed with this wonderful friends to lovers romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I have been waiting for Jackson’s book ever since I met him in Taming Him. He was always the fun, outgoing brother with a secret to tell.
Jackson and Kiera have always gravitated towards each other and their chemistry is apparent on every page.
Kiera knew she had loved Jackson since she was a kid, and had thought she had mad her feelings known. I understood completely why she felt that she could no longer wait on him to get his act together.
Jackson also knew he loved Kiera, but he has his own reasons for letting her go. This was the only frustrating part of the book for me. Jackson loved Kiera and only wanted her to be happy. I just wish he wouldn’t have needed so much of a push from others. He was constantly denying his feelings and never really tried to pursue anything. I understood his reasoning, but he could have tried a little harder at the beginning of the book. Don’t worry… he totally makes up for it after the fact.
I was so surprised by the twists and turns this book took. The suspense made the story that much more intriguing. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough.
I am so sad that this series has come to an end, but I couldn’t think of a better way to end it.

There is so much I could say here and I have been searching for the right/perfect words for the past two days but let’s be real… when I get emotional or giddy over a book I just ramble so it’s bound to happen here cuz I’m both at the moment.
Keeping Him has possibly been my most anticipated book in the last year. I have been waiting for Jackson since the first book in the series and I knew from the very start he was bound to be my favorite, and that this was a case of saving the best for last. And it’s the greatest thing to know that all along I was right and oh boy was this book worth the long wait!
Jackson and Kiera’s story has been given to us crumble by crumble up until this point; with each book in the series you’d see them through the other characters’ eyes and you’d get to watch the longing and the hurt that existed between and the mess that Jackson became every time Kiera and her boyfriend were in the same room as him. All of that made me crave this book like crazy and only added fuel to the fire that was my anticipation.
These two have been best friends since they were little kids and have been in love with each other since their teens, but Jackson never made a move, not when Kiera’s feelings were so obvious and not even when everyone else knew that he loved her too. He refused to give in and confess his feelings and I had been dying to know why. Kiera has waited on the sidelines for 15 years without nothing from Jackson, tired of waiting and when the perfect guy comes along she doesn’t pass up the chance to move on. Two years later she’s about to marry the guy when she finds out that he isn’t as perfect as she thinks he is, things don’t feel right anymore and she leaves him at the alter. We all know who she runs off to 😉
These two will make you crazy, want to throw your reading device, they’ll frustrate you but also make you swoon and tear up like no other. They will have you on the edge of your seat waiting and guessing how it will all end. Their shenanigans will make you laugh out loud and their friendship will make you wish you had a friend like them when you were a kid. You’ll get to meet new characters and boy are they fun. I loved both Travis and Colton and I’m so happy one of them is getting his own book but I wish they both would because both of them are amazing and I want more from each of them.
Keeping Him is a childhood friends to lovers romance that you will love. It’s a real slow burn that will have you flipping pages as fast as you can so you can know everything, past, present and future. These two have an amazing story that with every past detail you know, you’ll just be more amazed and enamored with Jackson Bishop. He might be a player but oh man he has such a good heart where it counts. I fell more in love with him and I didn’t think that was possible at this point. I loved finally reading his mind and learning the why behind his actions. Getting to see both him and Kiera lusting, longing for each other was hard, be prepared to tear up a lot, these two will pull all the emotions out of you. But even when it hurts you’ll be begging for more because you just have to know everything and see how it will all pan out with all the revelations and the secrets unveiled.
This story also has a bit of suspense mixed in, which I loved. It’s all around Trent so honestly it was brilliant, and I pegged him from the beginning, he just never really seemed genuine. Having their past, mixed in with the slow burn and the suspense really made this book brilliant. It was honestly way more than I had been expecting and omg I loved it so so much! I need a reread asap!
I’m not ready to say goodbye to the Bishop family! Although I am super happy I finally got my man’s book, I’m also super sad that it’s over and there will be no more bishop books *cries bittersweet tears*. I need more!! I’m happy that at least we will be getting some bonus scenes soon but it will never be enough. This is a series that will go down in history for me and I’ll be revisiting these characters again and again because I love them with all my heart and I’ll never be ready to say goodbye to them.
NO SPOILERS!
Keeping Him was a sexy, angsty, dramatic, and emotional slow burn friends-to-lovers romance, and I really enjoyed it! Kennedy Fox did a great job with the storyline and characters, and although Keeping Him wasn’t my favorite standalone in the Bishop Brothers series, it was an amazing way to conclude it!
The storyline wasn’t quite what I expected. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes, but Jackson and Kiera’s story didn’t fully progress how I thought or hoped it would. The first 50+% was honestly disappointing, and there were several plot twists that I really disliked. However, the last half or so was a thousand times better, and everything I could’ve hoped for with Jackson and Kiera’s story. There were a few aspects throughout that I didn’t care for, and there were a few secondary characters that I truly loathed and wished hadn’t been a part of the plot, but luckily everything turned out better than I imagined in the end.
The characters, for the most part, were amazing. Jackson Bishop and Kiera Young were absolutely wonderful, and I loved them so much. Jackson and Kiera weren’t perfect and both had flaws, but I loved their personalities and super hot chemistry together, and how part of their relationship progressed throughout. I loved that Jackson and Kiera were childhood friends, and the close friendship and deep connection they had together. It was a special and unbreakable bond that most people would envy. I also loved reading the book from both Jackson and Kiera’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Jackson and Kiera’s story was a painful, heartbreaking, and sometimes difficult journey, but all of the ups and downs were completely worth it in the end. The ending was honestly the best part of the entire book, and made me so freaking happy. I also loved seeing so many familiar faces from previous books in the Bishop Brothers series, along with a few new ones. They made everything a lot more fun and entertaining, and I loved their addition to the story.
Keeping Him was a sexy, angsty, and emotional slow burn standalone friends-to-lovers romance, and I would definitely recommend it and the entire Bishop Brothers series! Kennedy Fox took readers on an emotional roller coaster through all four books in the Bishop Brothers series, but especially in Keeping Him. Although Keeping Him wasn’t my favorite standalone in the series, this author duo did a fantastic job with Jackson and Kiera’s story, and I was very pleased with the outcome. I fell head over heels in love with the Bishop brothers, their significant others, and the entire Bishop family. The Bishop Brothers series was a wild and epic ride that I won’t soon forget, and I can’t wait to dive in to Kennedy Fox’s next release!
Jackson Bishop finally gets his story in Keeping Him. Book 4 of the Bishop Brothers series, it can be read as a standalone, but I feel it would be best enjoyed if read in order with the series.
Jackson has been a fixture in this series as his brothers each found love. Kiera has been there as well. She’s friends with the ladies, and Jackson has been her bestie for as long as she can remember. The two go together like two pieces of a puzzle, while Kiera nurses an unrequited crush watching Jackson make his way through the female population of Texas. She tries so hard to move on, and just when she thinks she’s about to have it all, Jackson begins to make her question everything.
Overall, Keeping Him was a great read. The characters I have been so intrigued about finally get their stories told, and I was obsessed. I could not put down Kiera and Jackson’s story at all. It was a bit on the long side, and some parts felt stretched out. Other than those few little things, Keeping Him was an emotional and angsty read. It was full of feels, but also hope. I would reccomend to the reader looking for an intense love, and a great family series.
This is going to be hard for me. You shouldn’t read this one without reading the first three in the Bishop Brothers series. If you have been reading along you know that everyone has been going on and on about what a man whore Jackson is, how much he is truly in love with Kiera, how dumb he is for not acting on that and how much Kiera is in love with Jackson and how dumb she is for not saying anything. Well that is the first 57% of this book.
The first 57% of this book was painful for me. I hate love triangles and that is what this one was essentially and even though I suspected as much I had to read it because I love the Bishops. There was so much that was cringy for me that I didn’t care to read from both POVs. I respect why it was done but I just don’t are to read/see that. Then the remaining 43% of the book had so much other drama that was skimmed over that I felt that if a huge chunk of the first half of cringe was gone it would been able to develop the rest of the book so much better. So the three stars is for the last 43% of the book because I loved that Jackson and that Kiera. Kiera was so feisty and fun in the first three books and she came back out in the last half of this book. I never thought I would like Jackson but he did redeem himself to me. I could feel his love once he started showing it. So it was a rough beginning but a solid ending for me.
By far my favorite book of the series! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Jackson and Kiera’s story. This book had a little bit of everything in it. I can’t believe this series has come to an end. It’s been a crazy ride. This is a funny and dramatic friends-to-lovers romance. Kiera and Jackson have been best friends for almost their entire lives and have been in love with each other just as long. While the whole town even knows this secret, Jackson doesn’t believe he’s good enough for her and believes she deserves so much more. When someone else comes along and steals her heart, Jackson has to come to terms with letting her go for good. I was surprised by how intense this story was. It hurt me to see how much Jackson truly struggled with the reality that he was losing her for good. The push and pull between Jackson and Kiera was strong.. So many things I never saw coming. I am sad to see the series come to an end. This is a definite must read!
5 stars!
Oh my gosh this is my favourite of all of Kennedy Fox’s books! I’ve been dying to read Jackson and Kiera’s book from the start of this series. Jackson is my most favourite Bishop Brother! I knew underneath his silly antics and smart mouth was a huge heart and the way he loved Kiera for so long was just so beautiful. Don’t get me wrong there were points when I wanted to strangle him in the first half of the book for not opening his darn mouth but the angst and slow burn KF delivered here was just pure perfection! This book is the ultimate friends to lovers story with heartache and angst but my gosh it was worth it in the end to see these beautiful people get their HEA! No one deserved it more. Kiera also had the blinders on, I mean come on Jackson is good but it is so apparent how in love he was with her but she claimed to have no idea. They both deserve a gold metal for not acting on their feelings for 15 years. It really made the build up so much more though and when they were around each other the heat and intensity between these two was off the charts.
The entire Bishop family are all so special. The family unit they’ve created with Mama Bishop being the fiercest of them all I love. I also loved getting glimpses of Courtney and Drew again and the triplets and all the Bishop brothers and their wives and kids.
KF have outdone themselves with this series. The Bishop Brothers have owned my heart from the beginning of the series and I am dying to get into Circle B Ranch and read the next generation of Bishops.
Although I did the previous 3 brothers on audio, I couldn’t wait to read Jackson and Kierra’s story. It had so many layers but always funny and Jackson was just such a character. I loved all the characters in the Bishop family. Great series.
If you have read the first three books in the series then you know what kind of guy Jackson is. The partying cowboy, player, labeled as the bad/wild twin, but the main thing about Jackson is that he is as stubborn as a mule. Especially when it comes to Kiera. Jackson and Keira have been friends their whole lives and both would not admit their love and affection for one another. Everyone else could see if it but they wouldn’t. Afraid the other might now feel the same they never said anything, until the day Kiera is scheduled to walk down the aisle to another man does she discover Jackson’s love for her, and it makes her second guess what she is about to do.
I have waited what seems like forever for Jackson and Kiera’s story and at first I will admit that I was afraid I was not going to be able to finish the book because for the first half of the book you were basically being caught up from the past 15 years until the present day where it’s Kiera’s wedding day. But as it got closer to the present day I became even more anxious to find out what happens between them. And let me tell you it gets intense! Oh my goodness it gets so good! Kennedy Fox, man those ladies know how to grip your heart and hold on tight!
I love family romance series where each book focuses on one member of a family and so on. They are my faves. Especially when they tell both sides POV.
Jackson may seem likes this carefree wild cowboy but deep down he’s a softy and only Kiera can bring that out.
This book and this series as a whole is a must read! Southern drama, dirty mouth cowboys and some of Mama Bishops pie is what you need!
