Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy. Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not … not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.
Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.
Even if her heart beats for another man.
Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

If you’ve been reading the Bishop Brothers from the beginning (as you should), then you’ve met Jackson and Kiera already. Not only have you met them, but you should also have sensed the connection by now as well.
Jackson and Kiera’s journey is a long one. It’s starts at childhood and runs about 15 years before the ah ha moment begins. Their romantic journey also is what I refer to as slow burn, which can be frustrating as heck! You as a reader will see things so clearly but these two don’t see things right in front of them that easily. But you know they will … so you read and read and read and you just can’t stop because not only do you need to know things but they need to know things LOL and then it’s like BAM, no more words and you’ll cry!
I REALLY LOVED THESE TWO.
There’s something else that happens in this book other than Jackson and Kiera finding their HEA and that’s Kiera herself growing and learning and making choices to better herself. Not gonna lie, some of those choices were eye-twitching but still choices and decisions that helped become the woman she wanted to be …. (I know that’s vague as heck, but sometimes, a story-line needs to be discovered by the reader without any hints. This is one of them.) #allthefeels
So, now the Bishop brothers all have found their HEA and we say goodbye, or hopefully only see ya later to them. It’s been a heck of a ride with these boys. These authors have given us a series so well written it will be hard to forget and very easily re-readable. You can start with Jackson’s story if you like, it won’t make this book any less fantastic, but I highly recommend you start at the beginning. Each one of these books may be focused on one brother, but they’re a family that sticks together and are in each other’s lives a lot. So start at the beginning because you’re gonna go there eventually no matter what. #TRUST
What an amazing book to finish out the series! If you’re a fan of destined love and slow burns this is your book! I loved all the twists this book had! Jackson and Kiera finally got their happy endings! I’ll definitely buy these paperback and keep them forever! Also the Pinterest board and Spotify playlist were on point for the whole series!!!
Yeehaw! Those Bishop Brothers are so hot!!! Who can resist a family full of sexy cowboys??? I just can’t get enough. Jackson is probably my favorite. Can I keep him?!
This is Jackson and Keira’s (love that name) story. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Jackson’s story. It did not disappoint. Their love is a slow burn and there are many obstacles in their way, so you have to be patient.
Jackson and Keira have been best friends since they were in diapers and inseparable since they were teens. Keira is considered a member of the family now. Both of them call each other out on their crap and take no crap off of each other. I love the way the story flashes back and forth from the past to the present. It gives a great background to how their story began. We also see glimpses of characters from the previous Bishop Brother books. I love seeing the previous characters and seeing how they doing and what they are up to now.
Both Jackson and Keira have trouble confessing/professing their love for one another. Everyone but the two of them knows they are in love with each other. They are both very stubborn, especially Jackson. Jackson thinks he’s doing the right thing staying away from her, so he drowns himself in whiskey and other women but it’s never more than one night with them. Keira has waited forever for Jackson but she’s tired of waiting and decides it’s time to move on. Will either of them be able to get past the obstacles to find their way back to each other?
I love that Kennedy Fox always adds a bit of intrigue and heart-stopping action to their stories. There is high angst, drama, suspense, lots of love, passion, and super hot & sexy scenes. I am sad to see the Bishop brothers come to an end. I am crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes hoping Kennedy Fox continues this series with the children of the Bishop Brothers. I recommend reading this book.
The wait is finally over, we have Jackson and Kiera’s long-awaited story. This is a childhood friends-to-lovers romance filled with slow-burning angst, tension, witty humor, and swoon-worthy moments! I loved that there were flashbacks and months leading up to Kiera’s wedding. But when these two finally admitted what we all knew, let the sexiness start. I say this after reading every book, but it is so true every book just keeps getting better.
This was the perfect conclusion to the Bishop Brother’s series!
Oh, how I’ve been anticipating Jackson and Keira’s story. There was angst between them that was apparent from the previous Bishop Brothers books.
Their love bloomed when they were so young and for years they’ve quietly pined for each other. Jackson, like most men, was stubborn and denied it to everyone while Keira moved on with her life hoping that Jackson would eventually get his head out of his butt and admit his feelings. But a girl can only wait for so long before she catches that next fish.
Their journey was a long one but so worth the wait. After hurdling so many obstacles they finally made the way to each other and once they did everything fell into place. Their puzzle pieces fit perfectly.
At times I was so frustrated with Keira…she just wanted that fairytale life so badly she was ignoring so many important signs that things just weren’t right in her relationship and I was so glad when she finally came to her senses.
The final book in the series was the one I most looked forward to and I wasn’t disappointed.
I absolutely love this series. Kennedy Fox kept us on the edge of our seats for this book from the beginning of the series. I love all the Bishop clan but I have to say my favorite is a toss up between John and Jackson. Wonderful characters and wonderful story line. Maybe a spin off? Bishop’s the next generation?
Keeping Him is the perfect story to finish The Bishop Brothers Series . Wanna know why? Let me tell you!
Before I begin, I’d like to point out that if you want the full experience you should start reading the series from the beginning. The first book, Taming Him, it’s where we first meet Jackson and Kiera. The anticipation and the turmoil in their complicated relationship has been building up and growing through the entire series. So yes, if you’re a fan of the Bishops and have read about Jackson and Kiera’s bits of story through the other characters eyes and have read about the mutual pain they both have endured while fighting their true feelings, then you’ve been dying to finally get their whole story. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I got my hands on it, and it was so much more than everything I expected it to be.
I knew I was in for a wild ride, but I could have never prepared myself properly to get through the big levels of angst and heartstrings tugs I’d suffer once I started reading. And how could I not if they’ve known each other their whole lives, been in love with the other probably just as long and neither of them never acted on their feelings. Reading about the awesome friendship they’ve shared through the years, about those special moments where they felt their heart could just burst with love for the other and all the hurt they have experienced while battling with their feelings, will have you emotional, and will probably leave you exhausted once you reach the end.
This book will drain you emotionally, but even when you finish, you’ll be left wanting more.
A sweet, angsty, sexy and overall the most delicious slow burn romance.
I was very interested to see how this author would handle Jackson Bishop’s story. In the previous books of this fantastic series, Jackson always appears as the man-whore, funny, irreverent, never takes anything seriously, showoff, cocky and most of the time, insufferable. He has his moments where he redeems himself, when he supports his brothers, shows a caring and considerate side, is respectful to his mama, is a fun uncle, but these are few. He reminds me of a clown mime, makes people laugh but hides a huge pain inside.
Jackson and Kiera have been best of friends since they were babies. They kept up a Truth or Dare game up to adulthood and they were mischief conspirators. Around their early teenage years, this best friends love started to change into stronger feelings, but they kept these feelings hidden. As the years go by, Kiera has boyfriends, leaves for college and comes back. Jackson keeps busy having one-night stands with every available woman in town, and all the tourist women that pass through town. He’s very busy and very sought after.
Kiera has been living with Trent, the town’s vet, for two years and they are months away from their wedding. I had a hard time reading a story about two people who love each other and yet, one is living with her fiancee and the other takes a different woman to bed almost every night. And in addition, Jackson drinks A LOT.
Half the book is spent on their hidden feelings wanting to come out but they keep holding back; Kiera has doubts about Trent but rationalizes his actions with silly excuses; Jackson has a firm position that she deserves much better than what he can give her. They both skirt the issues and time is running away from them.
The story was interesting if a little frustrating. Many times I felt like slapping their heads, they were so stubborn and cowardly. As always, the Bishop family, now made richer with more kids and several of the newly marrieds expecting babies, is a delight to read. Jackson and Kiera had a hard road to walk, and once together, had a lot of issues to overcome. The suspense element about arson was great because it adds spice to the story that lagged a little bit sometimes.
I would like to say, that once Jackson sorted out his issues, he turned into a real gem of a guy. He keeps on being cocky and rowdy, but all the goodness now shines out of him, he turns into a great family man. Turned out, all he needed was a good woman, the love of his life, to sort him out.
I knew there was so much more to Jackson and Kiera’s story but I had no idea what a wild ride I was in for when I settled in to read Keeping Him, book four of the Bishop Brothers!
Kiera and Jackson have been best friends for almost their entire lives, and in love with each other for just as long. While everyone else has known this not very well kept secret, Jackson believes Kiera deserves so much more than he can provide for her and just wants to see her happy. But when the day finally comes that someone else has stolen Kiera’s heart, Jackson has to come to terms with letting her go, for good.
To say I was truly surprised at the intensity of this story is an understatement. While I see where Jackson thought he was doing what was best for Kiera, it broke my heart to see how much he truly struggled with the reality he was losing her for good. The push and pull between Jackson and Kiera was so strong and then throw in the relationship with Kiera and Trent? WOW! So many things I never saw coming!! I sat holding my breath for probably half the book!
I’m sad the journey is over. Kennedy Fox has given us four of the most amazing stories with the Bishop Brothers and Keeping Him is by far the best! They gave us the most wonderful love story of two life long friends, a story 15 years in the making, and it was the sexiest, sweetest, craziest love story I’ve read. A definite MUST read as the perfect ending to the Bishop Brothers series!
This is the last book in the Bishop Brothers series, and I would say the most anticipated. Jackson and Kiera are just a hot mess express. We watched the train wreck happening through the series, and now here it is, their turn to make magic happen. This book pulled me in so many directions, I at times wanted to smack the mess out of both of them, and other times just shake my head and laugh. This was the slowest burn to date, and lord have mercy it was worth the torture. Told is dual pov.
Kennedy Fox authors did it again with Keeping Him! Ever since I started the Bishop Brothers series, I knew that Jackson’s book was the one I would love the most. It is sweet, flirty, fun, sexy, and brings all of the Bishops together again.
This book follows the relationship of Jackson and his childhood best friend, Kiera, from when they were 15 years old up through the present – 15 years later. I loved how the book went back and forth with the time periods with flashbacks to their teen years up to the months leading up to Kiera’s wedding. It kept me glued to the pages, and wanting more from their story.
Jackson & Kiera’s love for each other is so strong, raw and real – I am crazy jealous that I don’t have a lifelong love like them! Even if you haven’t read the other books in this series – you will love this one as a stand-alone. Jackson Bishop is one of my favorite heroes – that smart mouth and sexy smirk made me fall for him when he was single, and he only gets better and better when he finally lets his guard down and opens his heart. Well done once again Kennedy Fox!
So i have loved every book in this series but i won’t lie. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Jackson Bishop!! We’ve watched these two fantastic characters dance around each other throughout this series and it’s finally here.
I adored the back story we got from Jackson and Keira. These were two people that were always destined for each other. It just took them on a long journey to their HEA.
So sit back get comfy and enjoy the hell out of this story like i did. I really don’t think you will be disappointed!!
“I’m a selfish man; I realize that but there was always one thing I couldn’t be selfish about, and that was you.”
Oh Jackson Bishop…you frustrated the hell out of me, but even with page after page of cocky banter and infuriating self doubt, you grew on me. So much so, that I wanted you to have your happily ever after more than ANYTHING in the world. You may not have believed that you deserved love and happiness in your life, but you did deserve that and SO MUCH MORE! Kiera Young is your PERFECT MATCH. Treasure your love. Put up with each other’s shit. Live with your hearts full and open…just be happy.
Keeping Him by Kennedy Fox is the heart wrenching conclusion to the AMAZING Bishop Brothers series. It’s finally Jackson and Kiera’s turn for a happily ever after and let me just tell you…the road to get there is an unbelievably tough one. The ladies of Kennedy Fox holds nothing back in the emotion department when it comes to this love story. They will push you to the brink. You will scream, shout, yell, and curse. You will also smile, blush, and swoon. The myriad of emotions that you will experience will be vast and in the end, it will feel so satisfying. It’s raw. It’s sexy. It’s such a memorable read. I’m so incredibly sad to see these characters go, but if I know anything about this author, I know in my heart, this won’t be the last we see of them. If you don’t like angsty romance…walk away. But if you crave the unknown, the drama, the emotional toll that a book like this will take on you…get ready for something special, something necessary, something GREAT. Get ready for Keeping Him.
Dear Kennedy and Lovely Fox – Keeping Him is amazing, but I want to curl under the blankets and cry as long as I need …. I’m feeling really, really sad right now. To write this review I had to re-read this book 2 times, my adventure with Bishop Brothers ended… and I’m not ready for that… even just a little.
I LOVED ABSOLUTELY everything in Jackson and Kiera’s story.
I know it’s just maybe imaginary story, but reading about Bishop Family was always like coming back to home.
Where are Bishop there was always Kiera…I thought that after reading 3 books I know her very well, but even that she suprised me a couple of times. She’s my perfect girl- next-door-type, who could became my best friend in the speed of light. Kiera love with all her soul and passion, also she’s loyal and ready for everything when someones close to her heart need help. Why I’m writting this ??? Maybe because I need to convince myself that she’s perfect match for MY Jackson Jackson who’s my favorite Bishop and steal my heart in the begining this series? After reading Keeping him my feelings for him only gets bigger. IF I didn’t love Kiera that much, maybe I would fight with her for Jackson – my secret Bishop crush. He’s seems to be the most rebrllious and restless soul in his family. If You read previous books, You know how much Jackson likes trubles, right? But in this book Kennedy Fox finally explain everything why he was like that. And thankfully every reader on this planet will find out about what I knew from the page no 1 – Jackson is just bad boy with golden heart. He just need a little help to find his good path… he just need Kiera forever in his life… to KEEPING HIM in her heart till the rest days of their lifes.
What should I do with my bookish family life now ??? My dearest secret superstar from the second plan – Mama Bishop won’t hold my hand any more… for sure she was my favorite character in this books.
I’m not sure how should write in “the end” my review besides – was beautifull and breathtaking journey with amazing family in the background.
Thank You Kennedy Fox for bringing Bishop Family to my life.
Finally!!!!!! Kiera and Jackson!!!!! These two were just wow. Jackson was still denying his feelings and Kiera was clueless about his feelings, until her wedding day. I enjoyed how the authors took us back to before the wedding so we can get an idea of the events that led up to the wedding. At first I was like oh no poor Trent. But after reading?!?! I seriously hated Trent and was completely surprised at the things he did and how things turned out. I was completely fooled.
Kiera and Jackson didn’t rush anything and I liked that he continued being the funny one. He didn’t change and just made their relationship even more amazing. It was about damn time these two got together. And the Bishop family are just priceless. Lol I couldn’t keep up with all the new members. Hopefully the authors later on write stories on the kids. I can’t believe this was the last book of this amazing family. And it ended with a bang!!
This has been one of the most anticipated reads of the year, for an awful lot of people, me included!! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Jackson and Kiera’s story having read bits and pieces of them in the previous books. Jackson is such a player in these books and Kiera has been in love with him since she was in her teens, but just couldn’t wait around for him any more, and decided to move on with her life, dating Trent. In this we find out whether or not she does in fact move on or whether they eventually get it all togther!!!
You get both POV’s with this story, which if so totally what it needed, seeing things from both perspectives. You eventually get Jackson’s view of why he pretended not to love Kiera and went out of his way to push her away, never feeling he was good enough for her, and bedding every other female in sight. You get Kiera’s view of the hurt and frustration she has had to put up with loving Jackson from afar, yet still trying to be best friends with him, falling for Trent and making a life with him, and seeing the world through rose tinted spectacles, trying to hide her true feelings.
The story jumps backwards into the past and then back into the present, showing us different angles and perspectives of what has already gone before in the previous books, but from their view, which was awesome.
But reading this will frustrate you like nothing else, how they behave with each other, how hurt and fearful they are of loving each other, Jackson with all the other women and Kiera seeing Trent in the perfect light, when in fact of course he is not. You feel like bumping their heads together and just saying, come on will ya, get it together!! It is a real slow burn of a read, but will have you flipping the pages like nobody’s business trying to find out if they get their act together or not. It will have you on the edge of your seat with the drama, swooning with the emotions and romance, fanning yourself with the hawtness and laughing out loud with the fun and antics the Bishop family and the ranchers get up to.
You will end up falling head over heels for Jackson, even though he is a player, his heart has always been Kiera’s, and this shines through the words and the pages as you read and find out why he did what he did. Emotionally I really felt for Kiera and what she goes through, the drama and twists in the story will really pull those emotions out of you, all the while you are wagging your finger at Trent saying ‘I see you MoFo!!
Of course all the other Bishops are in this last book, along with a few new ones you meet along the way!! New ranch hands Travis and Colton feature quite a lot and add some fun, depth and humor to the storyline.
All in all its been a fantastic series, the Bishop’s will stay with me for quite a long time to come. Highly recommended 5 star reading.
Apparently, I’m on a cowboy binge these past few days. And I’ll probably will for a couple more days, too. Because even though KEEPING HIM is the last in this series, it was the first one I’ve read. And, boy, what a read!
Jackson is the troublemaker out of the lot and I’ve heard that the story between him and Kiera has been brewing since the series started. Well, that bone-deep tension simmering between these two definitely fortifies that, lordy!!
It’s a huge book – and for more than half of it I was constantly on the verge of screaming and throwing my Kindle, it’s that frustrating… With these two having danced around one another for years – YEARS – it was to be expected that their finding their way to one another wouldn’t be a walk in the park, but boy was it complicated. Those pages were definitely needed to solve and straighten out everything that happened between them over all those years. As were the glimpses we get into their past.
As in every Kennedy Fox book, you get an abundance of smexy panty-melting hotness and heart-crushing and –melting emotions, twists and turns thrown your way that have you cussing and gasping, moments to make you swoon and smile and all those wonderful characters you cannot get enough of.
A sassy, sexy, emotional story with angst and a hint of slow burn thrown into the mix that makes a compelling ride about a cowboy and his cowgirl. I loved it!
THE ULTIMATE SLOW – BUILD FRIENDS TO LOVERS ROMANCE BUT THE ONLY ONE YOU WILL NEVER EVER FORGET!
Kennedy Fox NAILED IT with Keeping Him! It was the most emotional, awing, sexy, smart, sweet romance with ALL. OF. THE. FEELS. I dove into this book the VERY MOMENT it hit my kindle and I have to say, it was a heck of a great ride. It was the emotional roller coaster of a life time and one I can not wait to read again. This book was SO EFFING GOOD. It was brilliant and beautiful and had EVERYTHING a reader could desire in the ULTIMATE romance. My heart and soul was completely invested in this story and is by far the BEST BOOK Miss Fox has written yet! I can’t help all the fan-girl excitement I got going on right now! It is a MUST READ!
Keeping Him gets a WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE FEELS AND MORE TEN BRILLIANT SHINNING STARS!
HOT Diggity Dog!!! So much anticipation for this book, not one ounce of disappointment. I swear these 2 women know how to knock your socks off when they write a book. Have loved every single Kennedy Fox book to date!!
We all know that Jackson is an a$$ for not ever telling Kiera that he is in love with her. Come on the boy has been for over 15 years. We finally get the back story, and it made me see Jackson in a whole new light. He just wanted Kiera to have ‘more’, and he didn’t think he could be that man. What a ‘dumba$$’ as Kiera would say!
Throughout this book, I had so many emotional twists and turns. Happy on chapter, pissed the next, furious at a certain character for being a total psycho, and just loving the Bishop family some more. Ahhh love all the Bishop Brothers.
Jackson Bishop and Kiera Young’s story was one of my most anticipated reads since finishing Chasing Him, and with the insight that Kennedy Fox leaves readers with at the end of John and Mila’s story, in terms of Kiera’s determination to move forward instead of pining away for a man she feels will never admit his true feelings for her, I knew that Keeping Him was going to break my heart in every possible way due to the circumstances that Jackson and Kiera created by their denials, and I also felt like it wasn’t going to be easy for me to see passed Jackson’s words and actions when it came to Kiera and his ‘true’ feelings for her, and I’ll admit, I really did struggle with the fact that so much of the drama between them could have been avoided if they were honest with themselves and with each other…don’t get me wrong, I know that a good amount of angst comes with a storyline like this one, but these two have been frustrating the heck out of me since they were introduced in the previous books in the series and letting go of those feelings was more difficult than I thought it would be.
Since the beginning of the series, Kennedy Fox has portrayed Jackson Bishop as a cocky hothead and playboy; he’s a bit of a loose cannon – a guy who seems to put his foot in his mouth more often than not and one who may know how to get a woman in his bed, but anything that involves feelings is not something he knows how to handle, which is more than clear with how he deals with his growing feelings for Kiera. Through the course of Keeping Him, Jackson does realize his mistakes and he works to transform into a man who’s more open with his feelings and ‘worthy’ of the kind of love that Kiera wants to give him. Fox does a great job of illustrating Jackson’s transformation, allowing readers to see him get his head out of his ass and realize that he’s not willing to give up the woman he’s loved since forever, and when Jackson comes to that realization, there’s a definite change in him and readers can clearly recognize that change and know that he’s found a way to claim what his heart always knew he wanted/needed.
Logically, I understand why Kiera tried to move on with Trent, but it was beyond clear that she didn’t really know him like she thought she did, nor did she love him enough to give her heart to him. I can’t blame Kiera for wanting the fairy tale happily ever after; she’s seen the other Jackson men find their soulmates and not put up much a fight when it came to that claiming, so it stands to reason that she would want what they have and if she can’t have it with the man she really wants it with then she might just have to settle for second best, but she soon realizes that an alternate choice will never work for her…never offer her what she wants, but by the time that happens, she’s already committed herself to something she no longer wants, which makes things so much more complicated than they should have been if she would have followed her heart since the beginning.
Keeping Him is an interesting title for Jackson and Kiera’s story because they never seemed to truly have one another…I get that they’ve been best friends since childhood and they share a bond that most people crave, but ‘keeping’ means that something or someone has already been claimed and that doesn’t really apply to these two…OR, is the implication that because they’ve always held one another’s heart that all they need to do is admit their feelings in order to truly have that which has always been theirs for the taking.
I can’t believe this series is over; it seems like Kennedy Fox just introduced readers to the Jackson brothers and now it’s time to say goodbye to these handsome, broody men and their significant others. This series was one heck of a wild and angsty ride, and while it almost did my heart in at certain points; I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
