Jaxson Joseph Cole is the devil personified. Tall. Dark. Handsome. I crave a man as cliché as God could create. At twenty-six-years-old, he’s every little girl’s fantasy and every grown woman’s desire. He’s determined, stubborn, and incorrigible. He’s also the first boy I ever loved. With my big sister’s wedding only a few days away, the entirety of our family is fitted together inside a luxurious … together inside a luxurious resort in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
I’ll be forced to brave his presence. I’ll be made to endure his torture. I’ll be obligated to keep my distance.
He wants me. I want him.
There’s just one small obstacle standing in my way.
Jaxson Joseph Cole scares me to death.

I love the first book in this series about Katherine and Mason. I think I enjoyed Jaxson and Averie’s story even more. Averies crush over Jaxson at age 13 turns into her falling into love by 22 and knowing he is who she want’s. Jaxson and Averie are a match made in heaven between them both being difficult, bullheaded and obstinate. This books was a page turner like the first one and a happily ever after. Looking forward to reading more by A.C. Bextor.
We are once again given a wonderful cast of characters that are finding their way thorough life, love and family. I have fallen more in love with the sassy Averie. She is now a grown woman and has certainly grown into her larger than life personality . She has always had a special love for Jaxson. He is the nephew of her step father but soon the friendship turns into a slow burn and neither one may be able to deny . It was a lovely treat to revisit the family that I fell in love with in Keeping Happy and to watch these two characters grow, learn and fall in love !!

I fell in love with the characters A.C. Bextor brought to life in Keep Happy. Mason is an exceptional character and his banter with his woman’s daughter, Averie, always brought a smile to my face. In this followup, the reader gets to see a bit more story, especially why Mason had to leave Katie, all those years ago. Jaxson, Mason’s nephew, is certainly a chip of the man who helped raise him, and he is every bit the match Averie needs now that she is grown.
From their first encounter, there has been a pull between Averie and Jaxson as well as a friendship that neither wants to have falter. Through the years, the reader is shown the progression of their relationship, culminating during Averie’s sister’s wedding. They fight, they banter, they are passionate, and they drive Mason crazy. At Amelia’s wedding I challenge anyone not to tear up when Mason gives the toast. For a man of few words, they pack a wallop. This little duet is an amazing story of loss, life, and love and I’m sad to think there are no more stories in Silvervale.
Keeping Ever After by A C Bextor a five-star read that will blow you away. This is the second book in Silverdale second chance romance and you don’t have to have read the first book, but I would recommend it as you will just love the characters and like me you will be loving everyone and glad that we get to see more from like Averie in this story who is one of the best characters I have read in ages she just the right mix of a bunch of good stuff, Jaxson well he may just make you feel like he’s driving you crazy like he is Averie as you feel like you are right there with them. That’s the talent this author has you aren’t just watching the movie play in your head as you read the story, you are part of the story. Thank you A C Bextor for being amazing and thank you RB Hillard for putting me onto such a great author, I love to see authors supporting each other, just makes me love them that much more.
What happens when two young teens who are running from each other grow up, and suddenly that running turns into chasing the one thing you really want? Averie and Jaxson have a long history that culminates at her sister’s wedding and spirals into something more, something that they both want and need but had been too afraid to go after before. This fun, messy, feel-good story is well worth the read.
This was kind of like Keep Happy part 2. Katherine’s daughter Averie is basically how her mom was as a child, and Jax is Mason’s nephew. They seem to bond, which starts when Avery was barely a teen and evolves until she’s a woman. It’s similar to the first story, but shows that not everything is love and roses, which was slightly surprising. I really enjoyed it, however, and it was nice to see that everyone was able to “keep happy” in the end.
Averie hid her pain well ,from her family and everyone. As humans filled with pain, she put up walls and watched from the sidelines. The pain from her past forces her to make decisions well into her adultlife, but when she meets the one man who opens the heart, she lets love enter. The fear to love again, to open her heart–the author keeps you thinking, but a few parts had me confused with the flashbacks, keeping up with the plot and but overall the author makes you think about your life from your childhood can affect your adultlife and how one man can swoop in and make you view everything from a different perspective, the power of love. Well written.
I was so glad that Averie got her own story in this series. I could not put this book down! I loved Jaxson and Averie’s story. If you read the first book, you definitely need to read the second! You won’t regret it.
I really loved this book, it was so easy to get into and just lose yourself in such a well written story.
Second chance, friends to lovers. Absolutely loved the give and take, Chase and run away, of this storyline. Warmth, humor, obstacles to overcome in their own personalities, lovely story line. Well written, developed characters, great secondary characters. Recommended.
5 stars. I loved this book. This is book 2 in second chance romance series. This story is about Averie and Jaxson. This story start when they meet 9 years ago and how their journey started. They were meant for each other. This was a fast ready but good. They keep coming together but takes them awhile to act on their feelings.
A great ending to this story. A beautiful romance between Jaxson and Averie. Lots of banter between these two. Love that this story also includes snippets from the other characters so that it is all wrapped up.
This was just an OK read for me. I’m not a huge fan of flashbacks…..sometimes feels like whiplash, back & forth. Jaxon and Averie are interesting characters we get to see grow up, but the book kinda plodded along. There were times it moved so slow, but other times I thought I had missed something, it moved so quickly. Sorry, just OK from me
Keeping Happy Ever After is the second book in the Silvervale Second Chance Romance series. We first meet Averie in Keep Happy which focuses on her parents story. Jaxson and Averie have been friends since Averie was a teenager and that friendship only build into something more over the years. Their sparks towards each other was obvious from the start and when Jaxson finally starts chasing, Averie starts trying to pull away. I enjoy as a reader…. the build up and chase for them together. Their chemistry is top notch.
This book has everything I love in a book and I like its written in dual POV. The chemistry is steamy and sweet. I truly loved Jaxon and Averie’s story.
This book was fantastic! I enjoyed the back and forth between Jaxson and Averie. I really loved the flashbacks as well. I will definitely read more by A.C. Bextor.
This is the story of Averie and Jaxson. We first met Averie in Keep Happy when Averie’s mom and Mason (hot cop) got together. The girls have grown up but Averie is stuck in a rut…nobody understands…but Jaxson does. After a night of passion that has been building well over a few years, they part ways but have to reunite for the sake of Averie’s sister’s wedding. I LOVED the previous book. This one was a nice continuation, but Averie annoyed me. She had redeemed herself by the end of the book. I do understand why she was written this way…vulnerable yet selfish, Hurt yet strong. All in all a solid second chance for these characters.
Absolutely loved this story. It’s full of love fun and humor. It has a great storyline
This is Jax and Averied story it was a quick easy read. Some humour
Such a sweet story. Definitely worth the read. I didn’t realize, or remember anyway, that this was book#2. It is easily read as a stand alone. I’ll definitely be going back to read book #1 and probably doing a re-read on this one.
I like how the characters were different. Not the normal sister, step brother relationship. Family brought them together. Their pull was obvious from the start. I wish Averie wouldn’t have ran so often, but it made the book. Mason and Averie’s relationship made it more humorous.
