Jaxson Joseph Cole is the devil personified. Tall. Dark. Handsome. I crave a man as cliché as God could create. At twenty-six-years-old, he’s every little girl’s fantasy and every grown woman’s desire. He’s determined, stubborn, and incorrigible. He’s also the first boy I ever loved. With my big sister’s wedding only a few days away, the entirety of our family is fitted together inside a luxurious … together inside a luxurious resort in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
I’ll be forced to brave his presence. I’ll be made to endure his torture. I’ll be obligated to keep my distance.
He wants me. I want him.
There’s just one small obstacle standing in my way.
Jaxson Joseph Cole scares me to death.

I absolutely loved the first book so I knew I would love this one too. I was not a fan of Averie at all. I thought she was spoiled and annoying. She still is of course but I was able to deal with her. I liked the ending and Amelia and Averie becoming close. Great read!
This is one of those books that you just don’t want to put down. The characters in this book keep you wanting to know more. Its a hard to image some peoples life but then you read a book that makes you feel apart of their life’s. Thank you for that.
Seeing Averie struggle with what she went through regarding her parents divorce just hurt my heart but was so beautifully written. I felt a connection with her about how she felt so alone and how she coped. I loved their relationship. This author had made it onto my do not miss list.
This is a fast pace book and love and exceptions. Jaxson is Mason’s nephew and goes to stay with Mason and his new girlfriend/wife and 2 step daughters. Averie and Amelia are nothing alike and really act as if they hate each other. Averie and Jaxson are put together by Mason to take a walk around the lake. From then on they become somewhat close those 3 weeks and text and call each other a bit. As Averie becomes more of a teenager and she starts to see boys in a new light Jaxson starts to see her in a different way. Averie is afraid she’s like her mom and dad and won’t truly have love in her life so she runs when things get hard. Will Jaxson be able to get her to see he will always be there? Will Averie see that she isn’t like her parents?
Wow what a beautiful story and emotional this is book 2 can be read as a standalone Jax is masons nephew and he comes and helps with the wedding that is when Averie is asked to show him around that is the moment they become best friends. All throughout the years they meet up but will Jax and Averie show their true feelings?
What stands out most for me in this book is the connection Jaxson and Averie share, how they are the only one who understands the other. Ever since they first met, their connection is evident. I enjoyed watching how their relationship unfolds throughout.
However, there were many parts of this story that I found confusing. There were many times I felt like parts of the story was missing, and I found myself “wait, did I miss something?” While I liked the use of flashbacks, at times, it was hard to keep up with the current story.
This was a good feels book as we explore the relationship with Averie and Jaxon. The book was well written and had you wanting their happily ever after. I loved Averies sass… shecw was a mess and not afraid to show it. She did what she wanted and Jaxon was just the man to try to contain her. Loved it!
