I absolutely LOVED this book. Ava witnesses something that requires her to have protection in the form of Elijah who you will just LOVE. This book is fast paced and oh so hot. I literally could not put this book down. 5 hot stars!

Ohhhh, a great suspenseful short book by Elena….and boy does she know how to write a hero!! I loved Ava but I absolutely loved Ethan, but that’s the way it always is with Elena’s books. The hero always sucks me in….whether he’s a douche or a sexy agent!! Loved getting the suspense in this one and I loved how Ethan was always there for Ava, what more could ask for.

This is a great addition to the Operation Alpha world! Ava witnesses a vicious murder and she’s under protection, waiting for the murderer to be tried. But there’s a history with the murderer, and when he escapes, she is placed in protective custody with Elijah – and the sparks fly. Ava is a brilliantly rounded character, and her actions and terror are understandable and well explored. Eli, well, he’s just wonderful! There is an unexpected twist, there is heat, there is terror, there is suspense – and there is a really good read!

Keeping Ava (Police and Fire: Operation Alpha) by Elena M. Reyes was an amazing book. From the first chapter, my heart was pounding. Ava is on the run for her life and is brought to Elijah and the sparks start to fly. He is supposed to protect her, a run of the mill case, but they cannot deny the pull they feel for each other. Secrets come to light as Elijah does his best to stay on the path of what’s right, and what he wants. Excellent read with twists and turns that keep you guessing. A short read, but amazing read. Will read it again!

This book sucked me right in. I loved the twists and turns this book took and how both characters were determined to do what they could. She definitely proved that she wasn’t some impulsive woman and held out a lot longer on her feelings than I thought she would. I loved how he was determined to protect her and be there to help her no matter what happened. Great read!

Review I loved it! This story between Eli and Ava is sweet,sexy,scary and, at times, gruesome. Filled with lots of action and suspense. The build up and chemistry between Eli and Ava is awesome!
First book I’ve read from this author and it was an excellent read. If you love a hot mystery you will love this book. Elijah is a Detective assigned to protect Ava. Ava witnessed a murder by someone she knows. So she’s transported by a Texas Ranger from Lubbock to San Diego, which was supposed to be a secret move. If you want murder, cop/witness romance, and a quick fall in love romance this is the story for you. In Keeping Ava, Ava witnesses a murder by Jason, someone whom she knows. He is caught but manages to escape which sends Ava into hiding. She is escorted to her safe house by Weston, from Susan Stoker’s Badge of Honor series, and there she meets Elijah who has been ordered to protect her. They are instantly attracted to each other, but both hold back. Elijah begins to reinvestigate the case while protecting Ava. From there, more suspense follows as Jason closes in on her. Overall, the book was good but several spots left me confused. Some of the conversation between Elijah and Ava seemed rushed or thrown together and didn’t really flow. Then the case itself as it came to a conclusion left me confused as well. I felt like some of the bad guys were thrown into the mix with no real understanding of why the helped Jason. Overall, it was a good book but it could use a little more polishing.

Keeping Ava was my first time reading a book by Elena M. Reyes. I found it to be an enjoyable story with interesting characters in Ava and Elijah, and let’s not forget Jason, the very bad guy. Ava becomes a protected witness when Jason escapes from custody. It seems he murdered a man and Ava saw him do it. So she has to go into protection in a safe house and Elijah is assigned to keep her safe. There is an attraction between them and sparks fly while they are together. Jason in the meantime is hunting her down and he comes very close. Will Elijah be able to keep her safe and protected? Will Jason be caught before he kills Ava?
So for me this was an enjoyable story to read but it was a bit confusing a few times and I did want to knocks Ava upside the head a few times as she did things put herself in more danger with Jason on the loose.
