I admire every author for all their hard work. I enjoyed the story, and will read more books written by this author. The characters are adorable and the story telling is consuming. I escaped in a well-written romantic fictional world until I finished reading.
Omg amazing!
I thought it couldnt get better than the 1st book, oh boy was i wrong.
Shannon and johny overcome so much in this book, i cried so much, they are amazing .
We get to know more about shanons brother joey and her other brothers, i cant wait to read more about them in the future.
Gibsie is johnys best friend, he brought so much laughter, he is an amazing character and he stole me heart.
Chapter after chapter i was captivated and couldnt get enough. I would love for all of the secondary characters to have their own books in the future.
Another amazing series by chloe walsh, she can do no wrong. She writes beautifully.
Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better. Wow, just wow. After reading the 1st book, (which blew me away) I figured this wouldn’t be as great considering how long the first one was and I thought this book would have been shorter. I mean how much more could have been added to this story? Well…a lot, that’s what, and so worth it!
This was such an emotional read and not crying wasn’t even an option, whether its tears of anger, hurt, even tears of joy. Thankfully there were also some pretty good moments of laughter. I think Chloe did very well with balancing the really f’kd up times and adding some great and funny moments in between.
Looking forward to her hopefully continuing this series!
And the award for Best Book of 2018 goes to…*drum roll please*
KEEPING 13!!!
Seriously, this book and Binding 13 are my TOP favorite reads of the year. Actually, I’m fairly confident in saying that they are my favorite books of ALL TIME. And I don’t toss around that term lightly because I have loads of favorite books and read around 150 to 200 books a year, but the Boys of Tommen have blown every other one of my favorites clear out of the water.
It’s taken me awhile to write up this review because I’ve wanted every word of it to be perfect since Keeping 13, and it’s predecessor, Binding 13, are no less than exactly that – perfect. But, it’s like no matter what I say, it’s still nowhere near good enough to describe how amazing and phenomenal this book is, how much I absolutely love it and how many emotions it still makes me feel, even a week after reading it. These are the kind of books that I want to scream about from the rooftops and throw at people to read because they are THAT GOOD.
I’m not going to give any spoilers away, but the sequel to Johnny and Shannon’s story is explosive and nothing short of incredible. And the FEELS y’all… this whole book is dripping with ALL THE FEELS, and I’m STILL vibrating with them.
Keeping 13 gave me the biggest smile and had me rolling with laughs, like cheeks hurting and belly cramping because I was in tears from laughter. I swooned more times that I can count, cried like a baby and there were times where my heart was hammering in my chest with fear. It was a roller coaster of emotions, one that I never wanted to stop.
Chloe Walsh never ceases to amaze me with her impeccable writing and has given me yet another massive book hangover. I actually feel sorry for all the others books I’ve had to read afterwards, and will have to read, following this mind-blowing and epic book. But Chloe is one of those authors whose writing I always connect with and she never fails to deliver a book with unforgettable characters, emotion and tons of heart. She really delves deep with the whole cast of characters and brings their struggles to the forefront in a pure and honest way.
When this lady writes a book, she doesn’t just give you a story. She creates the perfect recipe for a whole other world with characters that are 100% real and gives them so much depth that makes them spring to life from the pages… and she completely blew me away with all the characters she created with the Boys of Tommen. Never have I ever been so in love with every single person in a book before. Each character serves a purpose. They aren’t just add-ins for filler. They are there to create real life and real situations.
The hero, Johnny, *swoon*…my heart is so full of love for him. He has to be my all-time favorite book boyfriend ever. He is just so sweet and pure and fierce, protective and loyal to the bone. That boy just makes me tingle all over.
I think his only flaw is that he was a bulldozer, just like he bulldozed his way into Shannon’s life and into her heart. He saved her from a horrible and devastating situation and brought her back to life and out of her shell. He made her feel safe and loved and wanted, which was something she had never experienced before. The way he loved her and took care of her melted my freaking heart.
And then there’s Johnny’s sidekick, Gibsie. Oh. My. GOD! That kid is a barrel of laughs. I’ve never read a character more hilarious than him, EVER. I think I highlighted every single one of his quotes because every word out of his mouth had me in stitches, and there were a ton of quotes from Gibs, lol. This book needed his character, though. He created a balance with the heartbreaking moments with his humor and I absolutely adore him and can’t wait until he gets his own book.
I can’t forget about Johnny’s mother, Mammy K. When she wasn’t embarrassing Johnny, she was cockblocking him, ahh that poor lad, lol… but she had a heart of gold and was the backbone in this book.
I could literally talk about all of the characters from this book all day, but my review is going on 3 pages long already so I’ll wrap it up. Keeping 13 is on a whole other level of epic. Words don’t even do it justice. There is just so much in it that makes it truly spectacular and the way Chloe writes it will have you head over heels and fully obsessed with all things Boys of Tommen. There’s a reason why Chloe Walsh is my all-time favorite author and it’s books like these that keep her ranked in the #1 spot. If you’re looking for a book to get lost in and forget about life for a few days, then do yourself a favor and read these books.
My love for Shannon and Johnny has grown to epic proportions after reading this book. I already thought they were perfect together, now I know they have a forever kinda love and it’s a beautiful thing.
My favourite part of both books has been seeing Shannon blossom.
From a withdrawn, beaten and broken young girl to a confident, strong and happy young woman. I just freaking adore her.
Johnny always stood by Shannon and it’s because of his fierce protective side and unconditional love she was able to thrive. That makes him a hero in my eyes.
I was happy to see Johnny grow too. His big dreams of Rugby were all he thought about until Shannon. She helped him focus on what was important in his life. Gave him something to focus on than just Rugby whilst still strongly supporting his dreams. I think she saved him just as much as he saved her.
My favourite character is still Gibsie. He seriously cracks me up but there’s a lot more to him than his crazy antics and I can’t wait to see beyond the Joker he portrays himself to be.
I have huge love for Joey too. I’m really hoping to get more from him.
Joey struggles with his Demons more than most, and my heart broke for him. The list of characters I’d like more from is endless in these books. They all deserve to have their stories expanded on, so whoever is next I’m definitely one clicking.
