When her father died, Lucy Mae Estmond inherited the family business. She has known all of her life that she would be in line to watch over the souls of the recently passed, keeping them safe from the Reapers. The soul eating Reapers have been a plague upon the Earth, stealing souls and leaving the Keepers as the only thing that stands between Heaven and Hell. The factions despise each other and … other and have warred for generations.
Then Lucy discovers an ancient legend predicting the arrival of the Chosen One, destined to bring forth an end to the Reapers. The surprises continue when she realizes she is that person. For Lucy, being the Chosen One doesn’t change much. Fighting Reapers is just another day in the life of a Keeper.
When she meets Jack Walker, they both realize they have an insane, mutual attraction. Too bad that he’s been sent to prevent the prophecy from coming true. His only mission: to kill the Chosen One.

I would have liked this book better if it was not R rated. Every other word started with F and if I wanted to read about sex I would have gotten a Penthouse Magazine. Very disappointing it is to bad the author feels that most of us need to be reminded that our society is going down the tubes.
I loved this story! I was able to listen to the audio version. It was great! I liked the story line, huge protective family, baby sister likes the bad boy. Ok so there was alot more to it than that of course, but no spoilers from me!
Great read and looked forward to the series!
Disliked the insta-love complex from the characters. If you’re into that, this book is for you. Character & world building was very well done.
We start with a funeral and a prophecy, you know things are always going to get exciting from there! I really am enjoying the characters and the happenings in this book. It is exciting and action filled, and it focuses on Lucy and Jack. The Estmonds really stick together even though they battle it out with each other. It is nice to see family …
This was predictable up to a point, but that didn’t spoil it. It’s still a great book.
This book was a disappointment. I only finished reading it because I had started it in the first place. Couldn’t wait to put it down.
A great
Newer series. I am glad i picked up the first book. A new spin on reapers and a flip side on the coin, adding in keepers. Perfect opposites if each other. Enjoyable read.
