Slow Burn | Second Chance Romance
Harloe Rae is a wonderful writer and it comes as no surprise that I ate this one up and adored it. This book is certainly one that shouldn’t be missed! Fans of romance that have a little bit of suspense, a slow burning love story, and characters that are clearly fated for each other are not going to want to miss Keeper. Not to be cheesy but this book IS A KEEPER.
Decker is exactly the kind of man that I picture of an ALPHA HERO. I swooned for him. He’s the type of character that the ladies will fight over proclaiming that he’s THEIR book boyfriend and won’t share him with anyone! He’s protective, loyal, and has a kind heart once you get to know him on a deeper level.
Delaney is the type of heroine that readers feel a kinship with. She’s smart, beautiful, and extremely kind. I love how her character had to come up from the fog though and reacclimate to life. Seeing her be so strong was wonderful. Harloe did a fantastic job at bringing her to life and I instantly wanted to befriend her.
Overall, this book is AMAZING. It’s no wonder why Harloe Rae’s books are always on my radar because she can WRITE. And she writes amazing stories each and every time
Wisdom of Worth: Keeper is absolutely worth all the stars!
Talk about a book hangover… Decker and Delaney for the win! A truly captivating story from start to finish. One thing I can count on, is Harloe always feeding into my nosey reader heart with not just one epilogue, but two! And an epic ending at that, especially when Keeper starts out with a bang to begin with. Like I said, fully captivated from beginning to end.
Decker, the tattooed, hot bartender with a protective streak was the perfect match for Delaney. She’s probably my favorite of Harloe’s heroines. The strength she shows with everything that she went through and still taking it in stride. Love her way of seeing everything with new eyes yet has a take no crap from no one and no filter attitude. Decker’s swoonyness knows no bounds with his patience, understanding and still treating Delaney no different than anyone else yet with such attentiveness you cant help but drool over this man. Their chemistry and banter… I’m in awe of these two and couldn’t get enough!
“You’re different, Dell.”
“In a good way?” He swipes a thumb over my cheek. “In all of the best ways.”
Love, love , love KEEPER! Amazingly written in dual POV. Keeper is a complete standalone with it’s own HEA. Harloe, please tell me Erik and maybe Kyler too, get their own books!!! Please please with a cherry on top! I need more. Lol. I totally devoured this book. I couldn’t read it fast enough and didnt want it to end at the same time. Definitely a must read, automatic 1-Click for me that no one should miss out on. Cant wait to see what Harloe comes up with next. I’m totally upping my stalking game.
Sometimes there is a magnetic force that pulls two people together. Delaney and Decker were the perfect example. Delaney’s past was non existent to her but courageously she fought to adjust with Decker by her side. Keeper is a second chance romance that had me swooning so hard! This book shows you the meaning of true love healing. What a beautiful story with two characters that held my heart .
Keeper is a gut-wrenching saga with a seed of hope. This story will grab you from the beginning and leave you stunned. Dexter and Delaney are perfect for each other. The way they sacrifice for each other is awe-inspiring. Their attraction is off the charts. They are two opposites that attract each other like two magnets that are so strong they can’t help but bind together and nothing can pull them apart. Suspense, heart-warming, heart-breaking, and loyalty are just a few things that you will encounter with this story. This story will leave you with hope and the realization that true love does exist.
I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
And there are the butterflies whenever I get to read a new Harloe book! So many things that I love about Keeper, and all of this author’s works. I can always expect all the swoony, sweet, cutesy, and sexy feels, and Keeper was no different.
I have a habit of reading darker reads, but sometimes I just want a good, light-hearted read with real romance, and I can always count on a Harloe book to meet all of those wants, and Keeper surpassed them. Delaney and Decker were made for each other, and I loved how they always trusted and stood by one another, no matter what came at them. I loved how sweet they were and were always showing PDA, which I was living for to be honest, they were always giving me butterflies!
Decker is someone I need in real life instead of a book boyfriend, where can I get one of him?Delaney was always strong, and I loved how she never let her past really get to her, and took it in stride. Loved the main characters, and I was living for any moments of the the side characters, especially snippets of Sutton and Grady, whom I love so much!
Definitely recommend for those who want a super sweet and refreshing read. I’m not sure what’s next to come in this series but I am definitely hoping for some of the side characters to get their stories!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
“Will you help me remember?” That’s the second thing I ask the stranger hovering just outside of my hospital room. To me, Decker Fredic is another nameless face in the crowd. If you are looking for a book to get sucked into, then this is the one. I swear Harloe Rae could paint magic with her words and she draws you into this book and doesn’t let you go, heck until you have finished the book. You will even be thinking about it when you have finished too. I fell so in love with Decker and Delaney. Delaney has no memory after the man she is with beats her nearly to death and apparently dumps her in a alley in the town she is from. She has no memory and no one not even her mother is there to help her. However Decker is in the hospital going to visit his mother and he sees the red hair that can only belong to the woman he had a huge crush on when he was a in high school. Bless her heart, I really felt for Dell and how she has no memory of even the little things and has to learn everything all over again. Decker has agreed to help her and he does and there is just no way to deny the attraction between these two. This is a beauty of a book that will have you reading well into the night.
What can I say Keeper is a keeper for me! Harloe Rae is my go to author and she has nailed this one! 5 amazing stars and is totally a must read! This story had everything for me but OMG that bit of drama l just about died! I just adored Delaney and Decker they are so perfect and bring out the best in each other! Loved the epilogue’s! Hope we get a story for a couple of the other characters!
Keeper by Harloe Rae is the story of Decker Fredric and Delaney Wallace.
Decker had a crush on Delaney back in High School but he felt she was way out of his league with her brains and beauty. Then she moved away and all was lost anyway…or so he thought. Now in their present day he happens upon Delaney again but this time she is alone with amnesia. So he lets her know that they once knew each other and they start to become friends. This was a great friends to lovers story. This author I just found last year and I have been following her ever since. I try to read whatever books she writes because they are all so good. The hot alpha male with the smart fun heroine…this writer just draws me into the story.
This was my first time reading one of Harloe Rae’s books and I was beyond impressed. This story took me on a journey through a multitude of emotions.
I was so invested in the lives of Delaney and Decker and the descriptions were so vivid I almost felt like I was right there with them experiencing it all!
A second chance romance with a twist and plenty of steamy scenes for your reading pleasure.
This is a definite one-click read.
If this talented novelist isn’t on your list of must reads, you need to give her a go because after one book, you’ll be eagerly devouring all of them. It’s a mystery to me how she does it, time and time again, but each book is better than the last, with irrefutable evidence that she pours herself, heart and soul, into each work. The storyline is riveting, the characters effortlessly abscond readers’ hearts, and the tiniest details are tweaked to perfection.
Delaney Wallace wakes up in a hospital with no memory of her past. She has only the Wisdoms of Worth, her own inspirational phrases, to cling to, until she sees Decker Fredric standing at the door of her room. He knows immediately who she is and has every one of their past encounters cemented in his brain. While Delaney doesn’t recognize him, there’s something she sees in him compelling her to trust him. She doesn’t remember that he was a bit of a bad boy, and she never had any idea of his crush on her.
Delaney is the very best kind of knife to the heart, and she owned me from the beginning. Bravery is courage in the face of fear, and this is our Dell. Her slate has been wiped clean, and she’s starting over. While her memory may be gone, her spirit is indomitable and the fire within her still burns bright, acting as a beacon drawing in those around her like moths to a flame. Before long, she finds her footing, coming into her own, and a secure, confident Delaney is a sight to behold! I have a serious girl crush on this phenomenal, admirable character.
I thought Grady from Breaker was my favorite hero from Silo Springs, but then I get to know Decker, and oh my heart! At first, he’s highly amusing, because any hero who claims he’ll never settle down while everyone around him can see he’s clearly falling for the heroine is entertainment at its best. He’s reluctant to get involved with Delaney, but it isn’t long before his protective side shows up. And he’s so absolutely, amazingly perfect with Delaney – careful and compassionate but light-hearted, fun and encouraging. Everything about this reformed bad boy is swoon-worthy.
Some wordsmiths tell a story. The really gifted ones immerse the reader in another existence, and this book does that. It’s like I could see every scene take place in front of me, but better. These captivating, charismatic, beautifully flawed characters took me by the hand and drew me into their story so I walked their journey along with them. There’s humor and heat, and nail-biting suspense, but the heart of this book and the emotions it evokes are what elevate it above the vast majority in this crowded genre. Do yourself a favor. Start reading this book today and let Delaney and Decker cast their spell on you. Your romantic heart will thank you and likely never be the same.
This is Harloe Rae’s best book to date, and the most swoon-worthy hero she has ever written.
You don’t want to miss this all-new, friends to lovers, second-chance romance. A slow burn with a strong heroine, super sexy hero, and sweet story about finding yourself and learning to live again after a traumatic experience.
Decker and Delaney are a match made in heaven. Following their relationship’s evolution from awkward, sort of friends to red-hot lovers was an absolute treat. They had such amazing chemistry and you just knew they would eventually melt the pages of your e-reader or scorch the pages of your paperback.
Second chances can come in many forms. Decker gets a second chance at the girl of his dreams. Delaney gets a second chance at life. Together, they get a second chance at love and happiness.
Decker and Delaney meet while Delaney is recovering from a head injury that left her with amnesia. Decker remembers Delaney from the past even though that haven’t seen each other in years . She asks him help her and they become friends. He helps her with find her new normal. They become closer but there are some twists and turns waiting. Great characters and storyline. Harloe Rae has a way of making you fall in love with her characters and this book is no different. Highly recommend. Excellent
This is the kind of story that will make you believe in true love and second chances. It’s an emotional roller coaster or a story that will make you laugh, cry and cuss at the same time.
Keeper follows Delaney and Decker, who have known each other for years but never ran in the same social circles, especially after she moved away before senior year. When Decker is the first to run into her at the hospital she asks him to help her since she has a severe case of amnesia. Now she is starting her life over at 23 with no past memories, no knowledge of current social norms, and only Decker at her side.
I can’t say anything else about the plot because I don’t want to take anything away from other readers. This is definitely one of those stories that you need to experience in the moment. I can tell you that Decker is freaking hot as hell and would make the best real life boyfriend. I can also tell you that Delaney is one of my favorite leading book ladies, her innocence about things is so refreshing and humorous and times and she would make one hell of a friend.
In my opinion, this is Harloe’s best story to date and it will be my new favorite book to recommend when someone needs something to read!
She was beaten and left for dead. She awoke to find she remembered nothing. Alone and unclaimed (so to speak) she is terrified of what will happen next until someone recognizes her. He was obsessed with her in high school. The crush that wouldn’t go away is still on the fringes. This story started off with a bang and even through the “downtime” there was still so much to enjoy. The action and intrigue was short lived and resolved quickly but the story of these two was most definitely worth a read. Love this author and her style and while the chemistry was definitely off the chart I am one that can always use less behind the door details. While this author does have a great way of using words and keeping things interesting it’s just my preference, so I skim them. It’s a great read that’s all parts hot and sexy and a great story to boot. You can’t help but love these two and the man he claims not to be who shows up front and center and never lets her go.
Keeper is a beautifully written book that you need in your life!
This is a beautifully written tale and is Decker and Delaney’s story. When Delaney wakes up in hospital with amnesia, she leans on Decker who knew her from the past. This reformed bad boy is the ideal book boyfriend material! No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a sweet and humorous story which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
5 Wisdom of Worth Stars
The author’s best work to date! You will fall completely in love with Decker and Delaney. This is a love story with elements of suspense that you won’t be able to put down…yet you won’t want it to end!
A well-written second chance romance that brings you a slow burn that’s worth the wait and makes you believe in true love with the perfect happily ever after.
Delaney was the unattainable dream girl. That’s how Decker always thought of her back in high school. And when she was forced to move away, Decker thought she was gone forever.
A chance meeting reunites these high school acquaintances years later. The only thing is, Delaney has no memory of him. In fact, she has no past memories at all. But when Decker lets her know he used to know her, they strike up a friendship.
It doesn’t take much for them to become close friends. Delaney has no one. Decker steps in to help her navigate through her new life.
Delaney’s ignorance of all things we take for granted is both comic relief and endearing. She’s sweet and naive, but steadfast and strong. She takes on new challenges with enthusiasm and doesn’t shy away when situations become difficult.
Decker was perfection. A hot and flirty bartender with a soft spot for the girl he crushed on. He’s not a man of many words or friends. He can’t help but let Delaney into his circle. She brings out his protective alpha side. Get the fan…it’s going to get HOT!
I loved everything about this couple. Each was the other’s perfect complement. Their attraction sizzled right off the pages. And when the author hits us with a twist, I could not read fast enough to find out where she was taking us.
Every new story the author writes includes unforgettable elements that make the story even more memorable. Wisdom of Worth offered insights to ponder and added to the overall storyline. This was a fantastic read with everything that makes for a great romance.
Delaney wakes up on the hospital with no memory. She remembers basic functions and concepts but she has no idea who she is. All her personally memories gone. Decker is at the hospital visiting his mom when he finds Delaney in her room crying. He is shocked because he hasn’t seen her since she suddenly left their small town 5 years ago. Of course Delaney has no clue who he is but she asks him for help because he is the first person to know who she is in the two weeks that she has been in the hospital. Decker agrees to help her get settled and show her around town once she is released.
Each book by Harloe gets better and better. First let’s talk about Delaney. She is freaking amazing. For all that she went through she had one pity party in the hospital and one melt down (cause by jerks who refused to understand her situation) and then said no more dwelling on the past. She was all about moving forward and creating a new her. Like Decker kept saying she is brave and strong. Should could have been all poor me but she never did. And she was fun! I loved her no filter. Loved how fun it was for her to learn new things. Added a bit of humor to the story. I am in love with Decker. He is everything you want in a book boyfriend. Alpha protective, sweet, endearing, tattooed and sexy (he has a beard too if you are into that sort of thing). I loved how into each other they were that they would forget that others were around and would get lost in their PDAs. I found it hilarious and sexy. On top of all this there was suspense element to the story that I always love. I suspected it was coming but it is was a nice twist to the story.
The only thing that I would have changed would have been a little more resolution with her mom. That just left me with so many questions. I understand they are there because Delaney is moving on without them and she doesn’t need them. But I do. lol Overall this was another amazing book by Harloe Rae that I highly recommend.
