Baby Booker grew up to be a big strong hottie! But this is Poppy’s chance to shine, I adored her!
I fell in love with the Harris brothers the moment I started reading Challenge and as the series progresses they just keep getting better and better. Camden was firmly sitting pretty as my favorite Harris brother up until I read Keeper. Why? Two words: Booker Harris. *swoon* That man. Sweet baby Jesus. He is now sitting pretty at the top of my Harris brother totem pole with Camden right behind him.
Not only does Keeper have the dreamy Booker Harris, but Poppy is adorable and quirky. Seeing her fall into an immediate friendship with Belle and Indie was so fun. Especially once Belle’s crazy started showing. I seriously want to be best friends with these girls.
If you have yet to meet the Harris brothers, you are missing out on truly wonderful books. Amy Daws weaves romance, sports, and amazing family dynamics to create stories that are both funny and romantic. Angst. Humor. Romance. Desire. It’s all part of her magic.
Amy Daws you, my dear, are a freaking genius . Never stop writing.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Audio Review from December 2018
This story starts off with Booker moving into his own place and inviting his childhood best friend to move in with him to save her some major commute time.
Of course sparks fly, and things heat up!!
Then he pulls a bonehead move and makes her sad fairly typical in the romance world.
HOWEVER the way Amy writes the make up and the rest of this couples story is superbly sweet and the last chapter mad me audibly going “awewwwwwwww”
I very much enjoyed these two as they didn’t have the typical start to their relationship since they’ve been great friends since childhood.
Also with Booker being the youngest he has the most affection to give but didn’t know fully how to give it until he crashed into the wall of feelings like it was brick and needed to figure out how to get through it.
Highly recommend this book and authors work.
Oh. My. The feels y’all! The feels! You will experience every single one of them. Every. Single. One. This book has it all: best friends, family, slow burn romance, and vulnerability. Poppy & Booker’s story is perfect and proves that if you’re meant to be with someone, no matter how many years pass by, love will always conquer all. It was impossible to put this book down, it engulfs you and drags you into the characters lives. I alternated between reading the book & listening to it. Charlotte Cole and Will Watt do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.
Naughty! !Naughty! Naughty! But very short!
I wish Amy Daws wrote a book a week!! Love this series
I loved this love story. It was so sweet and beautiful. I look forward to the next book in this series. This book was even more wonderful via the audio version. The narrators were fantastic. I adored the story of these two characters. And these Harris brothers are all great. I definitely recommend this book and this series.
Love booker because he is the sensitive one but he just doesn’t know it. And I like Poppy because she is the literal girl next door who has loved him forever.
But I have to say. I am NOT a fan of the mind games she played to push his hand and make him jealous and be with her. I get that it was Belles plan but still. Just be friggin honest.
And the whole leaving for Germany could have been resolved if she just told him her hurt feelings and found out what actually happened after she ran away. Cause it was not what she imagined.
Another thing I didn’t like mostly because of how hurt he was how she lied and left AGAIN. after she promised that if things went south between them they would always be friends. That his biggest fear to lose someone else and she did it anyway. I get that she was hurt but bloody Christ she dumped all that on him at such a new part of the relationship. Yea they have known each other their whole lives but not like that.
I don’t like that it seemed like he was the only one to offer up an apology. (Make a grand gesture). What she did was BS and then forcing his hand two weeks in. She should have just told him about the unexpected news and let things progress naturally. Good god it doesn’t happen over night.
But I love the ending!!!
I think each book keeps getting better and those covers keep getting hotter!! Nothing like a family of hot guys who all play football (soccer to us Americans)! Keeper was the third book in Amy’s Harris Brothers Series. They can each be read as a stand-alone if you don’t like hot and hunky men! It was a sweet and sexy friends to lovers romance.
Booker had learned at a young age that it was hard to be the youngest Harris. He was determined to become the best player on the field. Devoting much of his life to the sport, kept him fairly busy. When his best friend was moving back to town, he didn’t hesitate to allow her to move in.
Poppy had moved away for college to get away from all the memories. But now that she was back and living with Booker, he was bringing up everything she had worked so hard to lock away. He never saw her as she saw him, but now that they were both adults, could things change?
Booker!! Seriously, could these Harris men be any sexier?? I’m not picky, I would take any of them
Keeper of the Heart
I’ve been working on reading through the entire series from London Lovers into the Harris Brothers. Only one book was the crossover between the two but you see some characters from previous books in this one, which makes my heart happy since I’ve felt like I’ve been walking this journey with them. London Lovers series and Harris Brothers can be read as standalones but I enjoy the full circle.
This best friends to lovers romance was able to give me quite a bit of feels. One part even had me actually saying “awww” out loud, it was perfect.
There were a few parts where I got frustrated by the characters because they didn’t come out and speak their mind. But I also know I’m an “outsider” looking into these characters and reading their minds. There was a couple surprises in there that I didn’t see coming which was awesome, it wasn’t a book that I knew what was going to happen every step of the way.
I enjoyed this installment of the youngest Harris Brother. Now onto the oldest!
Another amazing story in the Harris brothers series. Booker and Poppy are absolutely fantastic, their friendship is beautiful but they had some bumps in their journey.
3.5 stars
I’d say the strength of this novel is in its first half, and then right at its (very) end. I love the friends-to-lovers trope, but there was a little bit too much back-and-forth that detracted from the story. Poppy’s willingness to continually be pulled back in, and Booker’s lack of self awareness seemed more suited to characters of a younger age. Overall, though, there are some great moments, and it piqued my interest in Gareth’s story.
I loved reading about Booker and Poppy! The best friends to lovers with the awesome Harris family stepping in was a great story!
This! This is what I love in romance. This is one of those books I loved to read and I hated for it to end.
When they meet at age 7 Booker and Poppy forge a deep friendship. Booker has lost his mother at a young age and is the baby of the family. Poppy fills a void in his life and they have such a deep friendship. Until Poppy leaves for Germany and leaves him shattered.
Now, six years later, she is returning to London and Booker wants his best friend back. But when he starts having different feelings he is adamant to keep them at bay. Because he does not want to lose her again.
Quote:
But I’m not an offensive player, Poppy. I’m not used to glory moments on the pitch like Cam and Tan have as strikers. I’m a defensive player at my core, which means I’m constantly calculating risks and preparing for the worst case scenario. My knee-jerk reaction is to protect myself and what I hold most dear. In this case, it’s our friendship.”
This story gave me all the feels. Booker and Poppy are such a great couple. And I loved the family interactions of the Harris family.
Quote:
“When you were about eight, I remember finding you two playing out back. I walked up just as Poppy said to you in her adorable little voice, ‘I wish there were a hundred Bookers in the world.’ And Booker, you looked right at her with the straightest face and said, ‘I wish there were a hundred Poppies in the world.’ And the two of you laughed like you just shared the most hilarious joke. I could have died from cuteness overload. You two were always in your own little world.”
This book goes straight to my keeper-shelf. The book is so aptly named :-))
(2017)
Wait! Hold the Phone! Did you see the that cover! I’ll wait while you check it out! Day-um it is H-O- T! Perfect for Booker!
Another Harris book I wasn’t sure if I would care for but again Amy Daws pulled me in and made me care about Booker and Poppy. First off I want to say I LOVE their names. It’s so much fun to walk around say “Booker” and even more to say “Poppy” in different tones. While Baby Booker wasn’t a favorite of mine (just because he doesn’t get much face time in the last two books) the author turned the tables on me when writing this. The other two books were loud, brash and outrageous. This one is more calm and well quiet. I enjoyed how Booker makes comments to him being a defender so he treats life/relationships like the ball/net. I love the references to his job being a Keeper in his daily life. He keeps his keeper gloves on to distance himself from things. Also when he intimidates or wants to push (not physically)Poppy a certain way he seems to grow larger like he is defending his net.
Whenever we see Tanner, Cam and the girls it’s always a good time. They are all very out going compared to Booker. Poppy well she fits right in with the family being she is boisterous. Anyway I enjoy the continuous *brofer* banter between this Harris family.
Another Harris audio is on the books! These two narrators (Will M. Watt and Charlotte Cole) did another wonderful job. I love listening to them! They really make this book more enjoyable! I am so glad I purchased it to listen to over and over. I can’t stop saying brofer and baf-room in my head. Hey I might end up with a little accent before these are over 🙂
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the full length novel Keeper (Harris Brothers Book 3)by Amy Daws and this review was given freely.
The youngest Harris brother Booker’s childhood best friend and neighbor Poppy returns after getting her teaching degree in Germany. Even though they have not seen eachother in six years, relation phobic Booker proposes an arrangement of convenience but roommates quickly turn into a steamy romance. This novel is a mix of present with flashbacks to Booker’s childhood with Poppy combined with Harris family drama, a little football, some humor, and a rocky but heartwarming romance.
Over 18 is recommended.

Booker !!! Eeeek. !!!!
I just love the Harris Men !!!
I can’t wait till the next book!! Garett!! Omg !! Amy Daws kicked this one out of the park !! ( see what I did there ).
I loved it. !!!
I love Booker and Poppy they are the best couple ever .. but they all are they are all great. Read this series people it is fabulous!! ( I may have said this in a very high pitched screechy voice ).
I really looked forward to reading this one and it turned out how I wanted it to be 🙂 I loved Booker and Poppy together, the chemistry they had was undeniable and I cannot wait to finally read Garrett’s story!
Booker and Poppy have been best friends since they were kids but one event changed it all for Poppy when she thought she could have it all. Now six years later, Poppy’s back in town. No matter how much she tries to convince herself she’s no longer in love with her ‘best’ friend, the chemistry between them is something you just can’t ignore. But Booker always has been closed off love, ever since his mom died, and doesn’t consider Poppy more than his best friend. Slowly but surely, Poppy is trying to find a way to make Booker see that he is capable to love, to rise above his fear… Will they finally have a chance this time around or will even their close friendship fall apart…?
I want Booker to love me.
This is the third book in the Harris series. It’s Booker’s story the youngest in the family. His life hasnt been easy being the youngest in the Harris family. But the one person that made it easier was Poppy his child good friend. They have been close since they were 7 and code ever since. Well until things got a lil sticky and Poppy left him to go to Uni in Germany. Now 6 year later she is back and feeling ate goin crazy. The only think is Booker doesn’t do love. Even though Poppy means the world to him he has alway found it hard to love outside of his family. But now seeing Poppy after 6 years things are goin to be hard to keep her in the friend zone.
Poppy is a great girl she is quirky fun loving and sometime clumsy. But has alway had a great relationship with Booker he is the friend that would do stupid things with her and make her laugh. But after things got weird and she moved to Germany for Uni things weren’t the same between them. Know she was back and was goin to be his Roomate, what could go wrong.
This story was so good it’s full of sexual tension heart breaking moments and fun. I really enjoying friends to lovers story and this was great. Booker and Poppy were meant to be together. They both hard to fight there feelings in some way but Booker did make it hard work when I did want to slap him at times. He has this sexy gorgeous woman in front of him and he couldn’t see it or didn’t want to. These Harris brother are just amazing I luv them all so far it’s so hard to choice my favourite cause they are all sexy alpha men. I m dying to Gareth book but I don’t want this series to end. I would highly recommend this book of you haven’t read it yet do you won’t regret it.
I loved getting another Harris family story! Booker is the youngest Harris brother and goalkeeper for Bethnal Green the football club his dad manages. He guards his heart like he guards his net, not allowing anyone to breach his defenses.
“You’ve had a lifetime to fall in love with me. If it was going to happen, it would have by now.” With those final words, my heart begins to break, splitting down the middle like a crack in pavement. Hardening with the exposure to the elements around me.”
Booker’s best friend Poppy returns home after spending the past 6 years out of the country. Booker wants things to stay the same and for their friendship to pick back up where it left off. Poppy hopes that distance and time have changed enough for her to be the friend Booker wants.
“But it’s her inner beauty I see through all the sparkles that makes me desperate to know what our future holds and how I can continue to be a part of her life…forever.”
Keeper is the third book in the Harris Brothers series and all of them can be read as standalones. But the characters are interconnected and the whole series is so good that my recommendation is to read them all! I definitely loved getting glimpses of Booker’s family and the characters from the previous books in this series.
“Her grip, our bodies, our breaths, our hearts, even our eyes lock on one another…and it feels like a dare. Like she’s daring me to stop her. Daring me to grant her permission. Daring the world to crash all around us. “Poppy.” I utter her name like a secret password to grant us permission.”
Another winner from author Amy Daws! It was so good that I plan to reread as soon as the audiobook releases!
***I read the ebook first and couldn’t wait to listen to the audiobook once this released and it was even better on audio!! The absolute best narration team!
