After living most of her life surrounded by alpha men, Sarah McLellan wants a sensitive, sweet, doting man in her life. Then she meets Cas.Cas Ashford is running from his past. With a new job in a new city, he has a fresh outlook on life. Keep it simple. Then he meets Sarah. Some things are easier said, than done.
I feel like I waited forever to read this book and I was in no way disappointed!! This fourth book in an amazing series that follows a group of characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. This is the story of Sarah and Cas! Sarah is Max’s little sister but Cas does not know that the first time they “meet”!!! What was supposed to be one night of hot, steamy sex turned out to be so much more. What was supposed to be kept simple turned out to be anything but. And things are never what they appear to be when lies and secrets are exposed! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for answers. I love reading books that have characters you would want to be friends with in real life! That is true with this series. I recommend this book and the rest of the series to anyone that enjoys love, laughter and a little mystery.

Surprisingly, I’d been waiting for this story as soon as Cas was introduced. I wanted to know his backstory, why he was so broody, and what would make things better for him. I truly loved this volume of the MMG series because it afforded us a little mystery, a backstory that I couldn’t have predicted, and a happy ending that had me looking forward to finding out what happens next.
Cas joined the security firm in one of the earlier books to help protect and keep an eye on the women, who seem to draw quite a bit of negative attention, to say the least. He doesn’t smile easily, seems to always be inside his head, and has a past that isn’t pretty.
Sarah is Max’s little sister, who has been living in Scottland since she was a child because she witnessed something horrendous. She, too, has an ugly past, and when she comes home, it upends everything in this group of friends and family. Not only that, but there’s something going on between Sarah and Cas that everyone wants to know about but few will find out.
The entire time, I hoped that Sarah would be a healing balm to Cas’s insane past and help him see that there was a path to happiness if he’d only take it. But the secrets were unexpected and held them back. Because there’s a period where Sarah goes back to Scottland, it’s a little like a second-chance romance, but the friction of having Max as her brother really lends to the excitement of the situation. The ending made me happy, and as sad as it was that things had to go the way they did, I was please that the author took a route no one would expect. Again, there are some serious editing issues, but I’m looking forward to the next story in the series.
Keeping it simple, this is a fantastic five star read that you need in your life. This is the fourth book in the MMG series, the final book is coming in a couple of week’s I finally broke and read this book, I bought it months ago but knew I was going to miss the MMG crew too much while waiting for the final book, so I kept putting off reading it. The series goes from strength to strength, with every book more details are revealed, in this book it was Cas and Sarah’s chance to reveal themselves. What a story they have to tell.
Caswell Ashford has always been a character that you see but don’t hear, he’s always around but never reveals much of himself. This story changes that, I always used to think he was an arrogant douche now, like the other MMG guys he has a tiny part of my heart. I just hope he gets his happy ever after in the end. (Sue me I’m a romantic) He has been running for so long can he ever stop?
Sarah Ann McLellan and myself have something in common we have both always seemed to be known as someone’s little sister, and that’s a hard burden to over-come, you love your brother but sometimes you want to throat punch them for being over bearing. Thankfully that and the name is about it, as there is so much more to Sarah’s story that she never revealed before. Will she return from Scotland to help with baby Mac or will the freedom she has in Scotland be too much of a pull for her? All she wants is a nice man to look after her and allow her the independence she desires, something she doesn’t get from the alpha domineering men in her life, basically she is looking for the opposite of Cas, but sometimes your heart desires the opposite of your brain. Will love concur all or will the running from both and Alphaness of one be too much for both of them?
What a heartbreaking love story. While reading this book my emotions was everywhere. RB is a amazing author that everyone needs to read her books. I highly recommend this series to everyone
I am so in love with this book! Cas and Sarah were able to take me on such an intense ride, the deep emotions and pain, the fire and pull…love it! This series is so perfectly intertwined with each book, the overlapping stories from different views makes me love it even more!
Sarah and Cas!!! Love them! R.B. Hilliard really takes us on an adventure through the entire series and ties everything in! there are surprises and lots of action and lots of romance to keep you going throughout this book and the whole series! One of my FAVORITE series to date!
While reading the previous books I wanted to know Cases story and man what a sad story I also wanted to know what was going on with him and Sarah . Im glade the RB goes back and tells the story of there actual first meeting and what happens for them to not be getting along . Both the H and h i loved they really needed each other Sarah was awesome with her accent and the way she would curse I thought was really funny and Cas seemed like his heart was ice cold but her just needed Sarah to bring back the old cas . The sexual tension between the two was super intense when they keep fighting the pool they have I really wanted to slap some since into them but when they finally get together I was so happy and lets not forget the sex 😉 . We also get to see the relationship between Max and Sarah and the reason for her not wanting to come home then what she has to tell her brother what happened in the past is truly heartbreaking . I love that we get to see whats also going on in the gang from the sidelines , and then theirs the character you really really dont like . I received copy for honest review.

I already love R.B’s books
This series is one of my favorites to begin with.
I have to say this story is perfection, a balance of emotions, a pleasure to read. Cass and Sarah’s story is both heart breaking and inspiring my favorite book in the series so far.
I honestly can’t express how much I’ve enjoyed this series and group of friends
Sarah is Max’s little sister. To say her childhood has been rough is putting it mildly, but she has come out on the other side a strong, beautiful (inside and out) woman. I love when she throws out some Scottish terms! Cas has had his share of rough times too – when you find out just how bad it’s been you can better understand where he’s coming from. The pull between these two is so strong it’s just the timing that sucks. They meet when Sarah comes home for Max and Ellie’s wedding but never exchange pertinent information. When Sarah moves home from Scotland Cas and Sarah are both shocked at their connections. What follows is two people trying to ignore their hearts….and you know how that works. This is a great story from start to finish
