Making a Murderer meets Scandal in this story of police corruption, family secrets, and illicit affairs from bestselling author K.A. Tucker, celebrated for her “propulsive plot twists and searing seduction” (USA TODAY). Noah Marshall has known a privileged and comfortable life thanks to his mother, the highly decorated chief of the Austin Police Department. But all that changes the night she … But all that changes the night she reveals a skeleton that’s been rattling in her closet for years, and succumbs to the guilt of destroying an innocent family’s life. Reeling with grief, Noah is forced to carry the burden of this shocking secret.
Gracie Richards wasn’t born in a trailer park, but after fourteen years of learning how to survive in The Hollow, it’s all she knows anymore. At least here people don’t care that her dad was a corrupt Austin cop, murdered in a drug deal gone wrong. Here, she and her mother are just another family struggling to survive…until a man who clearly doesn’t belong shows up on her doorstep.
Despite their differences, Noah and Gracie are searching for answers to the same questions, and together, they set out to uncover the truth about the Austin Police Department’s dark and messy past. But the scandal that emerges is bigger than they bargained for, and goes far higher up than they ever imagined.
Complex, gritty, sexy, and thrilling, Keep Her Safe solidifies K.A. Tucker’s reputation as one of today’s most talented new voices in romantic suspense.

Tucker did it again! Her ability to constantly break the mold with her plots, her characters, and her words. I never know what to expect when I pick up any of her books. Every last one is different from the rest and completely unique.
I was riveted from start to finish. This story is as much suspenseful as it is sweet and redeeming. As the plot gets deeper and deeper, the secrets left to be buried start to surface, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Along with the mystery and suspense of this story, there is the side plot of a romance simmering. I loved it. I loved that as things start to get dangerous, Noah and Gracie start to find themselves fighting to not let fate take over.
All in all, Tucker hit it home with her unique story telling and complex characters. I could not have asked for a better story.
Keep Her Safe is an intriguing read with great characters and plenty of suspense and mystery, which I loved. Noah and Grace’s romance is a tame one and whilst I would have liked a bit of steamy heat, the focus is mainly on the storyline and it’s exciting enough without it. I liked the narrators but for me, Noah’s voice didn’t fit his character. I highly recommend it.
I really didn’t know what to expect about this novel. I’m a huge K.A Tucker fan however am not usually into the “Mystery” genre. However, this book has enough romance AND mystery to keep me highly invested!
Cute little romance with an awesome 14 year old mystery concerning cop corruption and murder. I promise, it will keep you hooked!
Keep Her Safe is a story about police department corruption. A fourteen year old cold case is hidden to protect the department. Noah and Gracie suffer the fallout of the lies being kept by a corrupt police department. Noah and Gracie only have each other to count as they search for the truth wanting justice for Abe.
Noah is the son of a well respected decorated police chief. His mother Commander Jackie Marshall worked her way into the ranks of a high profile leader in the police department. Fourteen years ago his mother changed. She began drinking to the point of passing out on a regular basis. Something heavy was weighing her down.
Gracie is the daughter of a well respected officer. Officer Abraham Wilkes is a good man and a good cop.
Chief Canning noticed a big problem with the drugs coming into Austin with Austin being a hundred miles away from Mexico decided to assign officers to a narcotics field unit. But then a new chief took office shutting down the teams due to budget cuts. That’s when a patrol officer began reselling the drugs he stole from the dealers. Not long after, Abraham Wilkes turns up dead in a motel room with Hernandez.
The timeline alternates between 2017 (the present) and 2003 (the past) with Noah and Grace alternating points of view.
There were several components that made up this storyline. The delivery of information was certainly not the issue. With the help of Officer Abraham Wilkes and Commander Jackie Marshall providing detailed information about what transpired back in 2003 it helped assist in connecting the pieces.
I was super excited to read a romantic suspense by Ms. Tucker. She is extremely thoroughal in her character development as well as setting up the concept.
Ms. Tucker lives in Canada yet she writes a believable story about the Austin Police Department in Texas. Her knowledge about drug dealers and police corruption was pretty accurate.
Ms. Tucker set off to create a romantic suspense. But first she built a compelling story about police corruption with secondary romantic scenes. I liked that the romance easily blended into the storyline it wasn’t forced nor did it take away from the concept. The suspense comes from the police activity that happened in 2003 which is explained in past scenes. Of course, once everything begins to unfold the story comes alive with all the nasty secrets and lies of a true coverup. I loved all the interwoven pieces of this concept and the way Ms. Tucker delivered them.
Eventhough I loved the concept and the delivery of the concept I still struggled with certain aspects of her storytelling. There were so many scenes were the details were too extensive.
Narrators:
There are four narrators performing Keep Her Safe. Each narrator performed the scenes laid out before them with great voice skills.
This is an unabridged duet with multiple narrators. I am certainly glad I had these narrators to get me through Keep Her Safe. With the four different points of view it helped have a distinguished separation of voice talents performing these characters.
The audiobook was performed in a professional sound proof studio offering high quality sound. The scenes were performed word perfectly.
Narrators included: Will Damron, Robin Eller, Roger Casey, and Wendy Tremont King.

Keep Her Safe is such an intriguing and captivating story!!! The web of lies, deceit, and secrets that are revealed will keep you guessing all the way through.
I won’t be talking too much about the storyline because this is a story that needs to unfold as you read it. Keep Her Safe is K.A. Tucker’s newest standalone novel. It is told in Dual POV and it unfolds in both present time and past flashbacks. I loved how she wrote this story.
This was a different side to K.A. Tucker’s writing. I felt this book was definitely darker than anything else she has ever released. The only thing I felt that was kind of unfinished was the ending. Don’t get me wrong the story is complete and there is NO Cliffhanger, but I just wanted more from the ending. Maybe an epilogue a year down the road.
I have always enjoyed reading Ms. Tucker’s books and this was no different. I love that she continues to give us original and unique storylines and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Keep Her Safe was the perfect mix if suspense and drama with just enough romance to fill your heart also. I think Noah and Grace are probably my two favorite characters that she has given us. They come from different worlds but actually are very similar. Grace is such a strong and sassy heroine and Noah was just perfect in my head. I think you will want to meet these two characters.
K. A. Tucker’s books are so well written, that you can’t help but feel like you are swept away into their worlds.
So if you are looking for that romantic suspense novel that will captivate you and suck you into the story, this is the book you should read. If you are a fan of Ms. Tucker’s writing than don’t miss this latest gem of a story. You won’t believe how it all unravels!!!!
Loved this fast-paced thriller about family lies and deep-set betrayal. Highly recommended.
So many twists and turns! I loved they way you get Noah and Gracie’s POV with Jackie and Abe’s sprinkled throughout to help unfold the mystery. I really like hoe all Tucker’s books a so different from each other.
Keep Her Safe is a thrilling, romantic suspense that will keep you guessing. Everyone is a suspect and everyone seems to have a hand in the cookie jar.
After one night, Noah realized that the life he lived with his mother, the Austin City Police Chief, was somewhat of a lie. Everything he thought he knew changed and more and more secrets are coming to life. Tasked with one difficult errand his mother left him, he embarks on a trial of lies and deceits that will turn not only his life upside down but many others as well. Right by his side is his childhood friend that he hadn’t seen in 14 years. Together, they search for truths.
I want to start by saying that I did in fact really enjoy the story so I don’t want my rating to fool you into something it’s not. I’m not sure why but this book read extremely slow for me for the first half. Unusually slow and because of that, I don’t think I fully connected to either Noah or Gracie like I wanted to. Sure, I rooted for them but I wasn’t invested.
I thought the storyline was good and I liked the twists and turns. I also liked the fact that we get multiple POVs that span over quite a bit of time. There was always something new being discovered and while I certainly had suspicions of “who done it” just like everyone else, I liked that there was always something more. Something that digs just a little bit deeper.
If you are looking for a thrilling and suspenseful story that follows involves corruption, scheming and a fight for justice, then Keep Her Safe is the book for you!
I was impatiently waiting for this book and the wait was so worth it! Noah was someone I loved reading about, I liked his way of being and acting, and how despite being with such a deep grief, he sought the truth because he knew it was the right thing to do. Gracie was one of those girls that you would like to have around and as a friend, she is loyal, strong, independent and very nice, besides that she and Noah both have a heart of gold. I loved the secondary characters a lot; I feel that each one had a lot to contribute to the story and that made it even better. I loved Kristian! And I hope K.A. Tucker is going to make a story about him.
The story was super addictive from start to finish; I wanted to keep reading but at the same time I didn’t want to end, it was that good! The plot was super well developed, everything happened at the right time and the feelings! Oh my poor heart! I think what caused more impact and feelings in me, was the fact that it went from the present to the past so you already knew what was going to happen because that’s what it was about at the beginning but I didn’t want it to happen, and when I came to that specific scene my heart couldn’t resist it, it was so sad!!
And the things that happened! I think I’m good at predicting what’s going to happen in a story, but there were several things that took me by surprise as well as they were a total shock, and the ones I did see coming they surprised me anyway. I feel that K.A. Tucker keep getting better and better in this genre, usually I’m not interested in police suspense, but she made me want to read more of it.
Honestly, you need to read it! Is amazing and you will not be able to stop reading it until you finish it, is an addictive story, well written, with some very good characters and will break your hearts.
Keep Her Safe will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end.
Noah’s life changes in an instant. But what lies beneath the surface is the truth, and it’s up to him to find it. He’s thrust into a world he doesn’t understand or in a way he doesn’t want to believe.
Seriously, is there anything that Tucker can’t write? She made this thrilling, suspenseful story that had so many twists and so many turns. I wasn’t even sure what was going to happen until the end. It’s an example of brilliant storytelling. I love when I can’t guess what will happen. In this review, I won’t be telling you what happens. Just telling you that you have to read it. I couldn’t put it down.
I give this obviously, Five Boundless Stars and more if I could
Though this story is not entirely twists it does have a few unpredictable moments. Noah Marshall, the son of Austin’s Police Chief finds his mother drinking heavily and ranting about things she may have done during her years on the force. Gracie Richards is the daughter of an Austin Police Officer, who was killed during what appears to be a drug deal gone wrong. Once Noah and Gracie played together as youngsters but are now reunited when Noah seeks Gracie out to give her something which will bring the past spiraling forward. The two find themselves trying to solve if Gracie’s father was a corrupt police officer and if Noah’s mother knew and/or was part of what happened when he was killed. Great story that allows you to follow the clues as they are slowly laid out. Warning: Contains adult subject matter
Noah Marshall has just been blindsided by his mother, she just admitted to him that her road to becoming the police chief wasn’t always on the up and up and that she has done some shameful things to rise to the top… things that left the lives of good people completely in ruins. Now he is left wondering what parts of her life are actually true, who around him can be trusted, and after he finds a duffel bag full of cash that is tied to his childhood best friend he decides he needs to find her to find the truth. He’s hoping Grace can give him the answers he needs… little does he know their visit after all these years could also bring him so much more!
Grace Richards life hasn’t turned out quite the way she thought it would, especially when she looks back at what it use to be before her father screwed everything up, she was once happy and safe, now she is constantly looking over her shoulder expecting there to be trouble waiting for her and her mother. Her mother a fighting a losing battle with addiction, she is constantly concerned about their personal safety, and constantly wondering where their next meal will come from, and she hates every damn minute of it. If only things could be different for her…
Keep Her Safe is an engrossing tale riddled with suspense, secrets, and twists and turns that are sure to keep you flipping the pages in search of answers!! Wow what a read, this one totally took me by surprise, I was expecting Ms. Tucker’s usual literary m.o., but she totally amped up her game and offered up a romantic suspense read that is certain to knock readers sock off! She has previously won me over with her heartfelt emotional reads, and now she has me sitting up and taking notice with this current suspenseful offering, I think it is safe to say she has found her niche in the suspense category too. I thoroughly enjoyed following Noah and Grace along their journey, they kept me captivated from start to finish!! Highly recommend!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
What can I say about this story that will do it some justice. To start it was a great honour to get to read it before it comes out to the general public. This 4.5 star really consumed me all through out the reading of this amazing story.
I believe in spoiler free reviews. In this case it would need to remain so. This is an intense romantic suspense that sucked me in, twisted me and left me baffled. There are so many twists and turns in this story that I wasn’t sure who I should trust or not. The surprises kept coming. When I thought I had it all figured out, BAM!!! A shocking 180 degree turn that left me speechless.
It was a lengthy book, it was slow easing into the story but things started to pick real quick. I needed to really be focus in order to not miss any valuable information in this web of deceit and lies. I was hooked.
The author did a tremendous job with the storyline that was quite complicated. The author needed to know her characters, plots and the numerous twists. It seems like time and effort were put into creating this intense novel.
There were quite a few key players in the story. To get into it would reveal far to many spoilers. For those who love romance, Noah and Grace are our main focus. Grace was a witty, smart and say as it is kind of girl. I liked her very much, no beating around the bush. Noah was the silent type who wanted to protect the ones he loves.
For those who love suspense, it was mostly centred around the police.
This is a standalone told in multiple POV that goes back in time a few times. It does have an HEA for some. I highly recommend this story.
