Did someone say Jane Henry has a new book out? Yes, that had me searching rather quickly! “Keenan” is the first book in the “Dangerous Doms” series and, if you’ve read any of her books, is absolutely drool-worthy. There’s the harshness of the Irish Clan. Especially since Keenan is the firstborn son to the Clan chief and is due to take over the reins anytime. She also gave us a HUGE mystery that includes a young woman, Caitlin, found at the lighthouse property. But even that was a secret that was only shared in a cryptic revelation. Then there’s the spy element concerning the Clan’s activities. Coming from an old-world Italian family, the world-building and family structure were so relatable. The characters and their interactions were so perfectly flawed I felt like I knew them personally. This was an absolute pleasure to read with all its familiarity, twists and turns of the plot, and revelations from a mystery being solved that I couldn’t put it down until it was finished.
First read by this author and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely love the IRISH CLAN. Fast pace, full of drama love and innocence. All the characters are likable. Can’t wait to read the next book
Nothing beats a good mafia story, and being Irish mafia only makes it that much better! I loved these characters and their world, and can’t wait to read the rest of the stories.
I really enjoyed this book. It helped me get over a book reading draught with a dominant Irish mobster and an innocent girl who has been has never left her home until she is taken as a prisoner by the mobster and accused of spying on his Clan. There is action, suspense and plenty of hot steamy scenes. This is the first book in this series and I look forward to reading the rest.
4.5 stars! I read this in a few hours. Caitlin was described as innocent, naive, and sweet, which are all accurate because of the unconventional life she led up until Keenan caught her with something she shouldn’t have had access to. Waiting for him to figure out she was telling the truth was agony, but once that was established there was plenty of other conflict to go around. Even though Caitlin didn’t have any social experience, she was still a compelling character who constantly showed her inner strength and bravery. Keenan really annoyed me in one particular scene, but he did admit his mistakes. I loved getting to know Maeve, and while I’ve already read Nolan’s story, I’m excited to dive into Cormac’s as well! We also got to meet Lachlan in this one, who becomes a bigger character later on! You don’t have to read these in order, but if you don’t want to know couples ahead of time, then you should. Keenan is first, then Cormac, then Nolan.
This book REALLY explodes off the pages and starts the series off with a bang! Keenan is the heir to the throne of the McCarthy clan one of the biggest rulers of the underworld. He literally stumbles upon Caitlin who’s been sheltered and kept locked away from the world her whole life. She’s just lost her father and it’s that loss that propels her into Keenan’s world. You really need to read this book and see how Keenan and Caitlin’s story develops and what happens on their journey. This book was very well written and exciting. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see where Ms. Henry takes us next in this AMAZING series I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
I really enjoyed this story. Keenan and Caitlin are a lovely couple. She does surprise me. He is all Man. Their journey together is one jumbo adventure. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I do recommend this book.
Outstanding Story & Narration Mesmerizing!
Keenan
Dangerous Doms, Book 1
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
I loved this book, the story drew me right in and held me captive straight to the end. No doubt, Jane Henry is one gifted author, her descriptive writing brings the reader and/or listener into the world she created right along side the characters, giving you an inside view of what they are thinking, feeling and seeing. There is great character development and world building, as the story goes on learn more of the politics and hierarchy in the Irish mob, the clans. Keenan McCarthy is next in line to rule the McCarthy Clan, his father Seamus is aging and getting ready to step back giving his son more leadership roles. After learning they are being double crossed and that another clan may be making a power play they are given a tip to check the light house, they may find out who is behind it. They find out more than that they find a girl, Caitlin, in possession of some damning evidence. I adored Caitlin, growing up reclusively she had an innocence about her, sure it made her a bit naive but she was a strong, bright woman able to stand up for herself, someone, pretty hard to stand up to a Dom. Keenan unsure what to make of her senses that there is something about her, something he is attracted to. I love how everything plays out in this book, it is brilliantly plotted with lots of drama, angst, action, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, some heartfelt moments and some hot loving. Jane Henry, thank you for another awesome story and start to a new series, I am looking forward to what comes next for the McCarthy Clan in Cormac’s story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are awesome narrators and voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying, bringing them to life, humanizing them with their own voice and personality. Kai Kennicott nailed Caitlin’s persona, captured her innocence and strength. Wen Ross’ Keenan was perfection too and that Irish accent, wow, awesome!! They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you another fabulous listen

Dangerous Doms, Book 1
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
When I saw this was going to be an Irish based mafia book, I knew I had to give it a listen. Jane Henry’s first book in her new Dangerous Doms series is just what I needed for my weekend. Jack Anderson raises a girl in seclusion. Upon his death, she finds that she must enter into the evil world outside her comfortable lighthouse and finds how right he was. Captured and taken prisoner, she finds herself in a precarious position. Keenan, the next in line for the head of the clan takes her in as his to find out what if she is indeed who she says she is. He is definitely taken with her, but with her naivete, will she find his type of man the one for her? This story is action packed, full of secrets and power struggles. The world building is essential as we meet and get to know bits and pieces of the McCarthy family and their place in the Irish mafia. It’s women are feisty, the men protective and the bonds strong. The clan is loyal til the end, and the secret it holds can change everything. Will it come to fruition in time? Sweet and tender, dominant and disciplinary, we find out just how loyal and loving Keenan is. I can’t wait to hear what is next for this family!
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross deliver an amazing performance. Kennicott easily falls into character as Caitlin. She portrays Caitlin with an innocence, but always keeps her feisty. And Ross just nails that sexy, protective Irish brogue as Keenan. He pulls out all the stops and finds his inner Irishmen. This is entertainment at it’s best.

HEA
Overall a decent mafia read. Keenan is very dominant and not afraid of violence…Caitlyn’s character was likeable . This is an author I enjoy reading and I look forward to reading the next story.
Oh WOW!! Keenan was such a good read that just sucked me in. I am a huge fan of Jane Henry and Keenan may just be her best one yet, I don’t know, I will have to see what she comes out with next. Just when I think I have found a favorite of hers, she comes out with another lol.
In Keenan we are reading about Caitlin and Keenan. Caitlin is the naive and sheltered girl, and she sets out to seduce Keenan. Now I was an instant fan of hers, and freaking cheered her on from the start. She deserves what she wants, and she wants Keenan. She does it in such a subtle way, it totally blows what he usually does away. She gets under his skin. I felt this was the perfect pace, as this was a slow build romance. He did not stand a chance against her. Go Caitlin!!!
I just really enjoyed this story. I feel like Caitlin could be a lot of us girls out there, and it makes you root for her. I definitely see a re-read in my future. I cannot wait for book two now. Loving this series so far!!
Keenan is the first book in the Dangerous Doms series, a new dark Irish mafia romance. Keenan found Caitlin starving in a tower full of evidence about what his clan has been up to. Is she a spy or innocent is what Keenan needs to find out, but he can’t resist his draw and compulsion to keep her safe. But will Caitlin be able to handle all that Keenan brings to her life, including the danger?
Oh. My. Goodness. I am so happy I read this book, as this might be a new favorite mafia romance! Keenan and Caitlin absolutely stole my heart with her sweet innocence and honesty, and his stern dominance and tender moments. I adored their chemistry, and I was on the edge of my seat with the secrets, drama, tension, and danger in these pages. Keenan has so much responsibility, but I loved that he could slowly turn to Caitlin to ease some of his worries. I loved that he was stern yet loving with those under his care and often thought of others first. Caitlin had such a unique upbringing, her life was literally in danger from the moment she was born, but I loved her honest reactions, her curiosity, and how deeply she felt her emotions. I was so enthralled in this book that I read while cooking dinner and folding laundry, haha! So good! I loved the world that Ms. Henry weaved and I am so excited to see where this world will take us next!
If you have read Jane Henry’s books before you know that she loves to give us brooding, alpha, dominant men and the women that equally love and loathe them. Keenan is a standalone and definitely fits the bill! Keenan is the heir to his family’s Irish mob empire and in searching into a tip regarding a possible traitor he stumbles upon Caitlin. She has been living alone in the lighthouse where her father was the keeper for all of her life. She has never left the lighthouse nor has she ever encountered anyone before Keenan and his men barge into her life. If you think that this is a modern day telling of Rapunzel then you are definitely mistaken. Keenan is a dirty talking dom that has decided Caitlin is in need of protection and he is in need of a wife and he plans on keeping her. The story is told from dual POV and is on the milder side of dominance. It was a great way to escape from reality for a few days. I hope that more books will follow in this series.
Okay, this story was really great. I loved the characters and the basic plot. So, I’m just gonna jump right in to what disappointed me about this book. Keenan, the male protagonist, spends plenty of time talking about how he wants to do dirty things to Caitlyn. Then after all that description I got excited to read those passages. Guess what? They never came. Instead we get the subplot of a war between clans. The sexytimez would have been a lot more pleasurable than people shooting at each other. If you say you want to tie her up, I want to read about her getting tied up!
Keenan is a slow dark mafia romance that takes you into the Irish mob. Keenan is to be the King of the clan when his father finally retires. But there are a lot of things that need to happen before that can take place. But in the meantime, Keenan finds a beautiful, recluse named Caitlin.
I absolutely fell in love with these characters and this story. It is unlike anything I have read from Jane. The heat and feelings you get off this story make you want to read it all in one sitting. You have to know if these two will make it till the end, and if the love you feel from the two of them will grow. You also want to know if Cait will grow up and become a strong woman.
Jane brings us another great series starting with this one in DANGEROUS DOM SERIES.
Keenan is the first book in super author Jane Henry’s brand new Dangerous Dom’s series A word of caution…this book, and the rest of the series, is dark and sensual, but in more of a domestic discipline type of a story, so readers beware. If you don’t like this type of book, then don’t read it. If you do, you’ll love this.
Keenan is the captain of his clan. He’s soon to be the head of his clan as his father is set to retire, but before he does, he’s sent to the lighthouse to find out a big secret when an arms deal goes sideways.
Caitlyn has been hidden in the lighthouse her whole life, and she’s about to find out she’s a prisoner of a different sort once the captain of the clan finds her. She finds she likes his bossy ways though.
I found that I just loved this tale of Irish alphas! And I’m so looking forward to the rest of the brothers books. This was a hot romance, and it was fun watching Cait learning about new things after being locked away.
Naughty Irishman for the win
I have to preface this review with a personal note. I started this book in a rough patch of my life. Normally, I would devour it in hours. However time/life did not allow it.
I feel like my review is a detrimental but I really did enjoy the story. I think if I hadn’t taken weeks/month to read it, I would have been better connected to the story and the characters. I did enjoy Keenan even if he’s a naughty man, not just because he’s got the brogue but I love a Dom and add in the captive experience…yes please, sir!
I look forward to more filthy Irishmen and more hardened criminals bending for wee lasses…
Keenan is the first story I’ve ever read based on the Irish mafia Clans. It was amazing!
The author does a wonderful job of explaining the Clans traditions as well as using Irish lingo. This story definitely makes me feel like I’m standing on the Irish coast watching it all unfold.
Escape from the tower
I don’t know if the author intended it to or not, but this book has such a Rapunzelesque feel to it. I love how the book started, and each page after that just added to the intensity. Keenan is one of my favorite characters! He has that hard edge that he only loses around his dear sweet Cait, and the author really drew that out throughout the story. I enjoyed the innocence of Caitlin and how she seemed to be the perfect foil for Keenan, and the entire family pulled on my heart strings and I can’t wait to see them each find their own HEAs. But this story isn’t all about love, there is also the roughness and danger of the Irish Mafia, creating a fantastic reading experience that I didn’t want to end.
I liked the story but idk. I’ve read semi kidnap stories where the guys is a dominant alpha and I never had a dislike for their actions like I do Keenan. Yes high handed— a give in, yes alpha, yes expects obedience. But where in other books the girls fire is reverted for their spark and back bone that yields because of love. Keenan expects obedience from a reclusive girl who has never spoken to anyone but her father hidden away from the world of normal socialization and upbringing. And expects her to just bend to their clans ways. Like wtf?! The girl needs a minute to adjust and learn. Especially after they realize she isn’t a spy. But she just folds. Yes she fights a little bit always caves. There’s ways of being obedient and avoiding beatings while making your unhappiness known. And he seemed to want her happy despite his dickhead ways.
