Helicopter pilot Ellie Porter loves her job. Soaring above the Kakadu National Park, she feels freed from the questions around her father’s suicide and the heavy loss of her beloved family farm. But when a search-and-rescue mission on the boundary of the old farm reveals unusual excavation works, Ellie vows to investigate. The last thing she needs is her bad-tempered copilot, Kane McLaren, … McLaren, interfering. He’s the son of the current owners of the farm, and her attraction to him is a distraction she can’t afford, especially when someone threatens to put a stop to her inquiries – by any means necessary.
Ellie must trust Kane if she is to have any hope of uncovering the truth. Between Ellie’s damage and Kane’s secrets, can they find a way to open up to each other before the shadowy forces shut her up…for good?

This is the first of Annie Seaton’s books that I have read and it didn’t disappoint. Set in the tropical and pristine area of Kakadu National Park and with realistic and intriguing characters, the suspenseful romantic story kept me going until the last page. Annie Seaton writes with passion for Australia’s wilderness areas and brings to life the characters and scenery that are unique to this part of the world. Looking forward to reading the next two books in the Porter Sisters Trilogy.
I just finished reading this. I found the romance compelling between Kane and Ellie and how they help each other through their trauma.
I particularly liked the POV from the secondary characters Gina and David.
A great read. Annie Seaton Kakadu Sunset
Fantastic story with loads of emotion and adventure.
After the second book, it became too predictable.
Loved it!
Love the suspense.
Great book, lots of unexpected plots, deceit, romantic and descriptive.
A wonderful romantic suspense storyline! I completely enjoyed this story.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Since it was free on Kindle, I thought I would give it a whirl, and while it is a stand alone, characters are introduced that have their own stories and I can’t wait to read them too.
The description of the area where the story takes places, was wonderful. I could easily picture it in my mind. The characters were great. Really enjoyed this book.
This book Is a page Turner. The characters will win your heart and the mysteries just keep coming. I didn’t want to put the book down . I see many more reads from Seaton in my future!
Too obvious from the beginning. How come that such tough, over-experienced and well trained people cannot see things happening right in front of their eyes? Half the length of the book would still have been too long for this story…
I have always wanted to visit Australia–now I feel like I have. The main characters are wonderful role models for learning to face our fears and believing in ourselves.
Great book. I’d like to read more if they were on KU.
So boring! I really tried to stay with it but just couldn’t do it!
Slow moving.therefore slow reading. No action until the end.
Loved the location. Well written.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it very interesting with an unusual story line. Suspenseful parts could have been more tense.
Could do without the four letter words…
Kakadu Sunset (Porter Sisters book 1) by Annie Seaton is a romance suspense thriller set in Australia’s Northern Territory. Description of the beauty of Kakadu National Park as well as the lovely cover art entice and interest the reader. Characters are 3 dimensional and the plot moves along nicely. Kane and Ellie have good chemistry and are believable in that they have fears and problems, experiences and loyalties as real people do. Fracking, PTSD, political intrigue and environmental issues are current problems in our world today that add timeliness to the novel. It is difficult sometimes to discern who is speaking, which may be an ebook line problem or an editing issue. The book was a satisfying read.
