Helicopter pilot Ellie Porter loves her job. Soaring above the Kakadu National Park, she feels freed from the questions around her father’s suicide and the heavy loss of her beloved family farm. But when a search-and-rescue mission on the boundary of the old farm reveals unusual excavation works, Ellie vows to investigate. The last thing she needs is her bad-tempered copilot, Kane McLaren, … McLaren, interfering. He’s the son of the current owners of the farm, and her attraction to him is a distraction she can’t afford, especially when someone threatens to put a stop to her inquiries – by any means necessary.
Ellie must trust Kane if she is to have any hope of uncovering the truth. Between Ellie’s damage and Kane’s secrets, can they find a way to open up to each other before the shadowy forces shut her up…for good?

Triumph of Good over Evil.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense set in the beautiful Kakadu National Park. Highly recommended.
This was my first book by this author, it kept appearing on my feed like a message from someone, ok well Facebook lol, but the cover was so pretty and bright. I live in Australia like Annie so I felt so at home reading this, even though I’m a city girl in Melbourne. Kakadu came to life, the sounds, the smells and the sights. The political topics of mining and destruction of land hit so close to home, evil and greed does prevail in corporations and government unfortunately. The main characters were Ellie the female helicopter pilot and Kane the war veteran with plenty of emotional baggage. I enjoyed the banter between them as the drama unfolded. There was excitement, suspense and mystery and I feel that I read faster in the last chapters as I wanted to know the ending. I highly recommend this book for all lovers of romance and suspense.
