Audiobook Version:
Let me start by saying, This is not normally my go to genre. I don’t normally gravitate towards Scottish… well… anything or time travel/historical. Then I tell you. I am dumb. #1- If you don’t think Magnus is the sexiest piece of Scottish man meat around, i question your sanity. #2- This is not your usual time travel story. Without spoiling much i will say that it is set in modern times and the sexy Scottish man meat comes forward. I loved the characters and their sizzling chemistry. It was very well written and so intriguing. There was not only a sweet romance but had great suspense as well. I would not classify this as a PNR but more a contemporary romance. Time travel was really a small part of it so I would easily recommend this to anyone who likes sweet romance, slow burn romance, scottish yumminess… well- It may be faster to say everyone should read it 🙂
Miss Keira Stevens… What can I say except You Knocked My Socks Off. I LOVED your accents. I would never have guessed you were not a sexy Scottish man by nature. I was shocked as you have such a sweet-pure natural voice. Keira is an absolute force in the Romance Audio World. I highly recommend any of her audio with no hesitation. Check her out!
All in All, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I loved this book! I can not wait to get my hands on book 2!

An unpredictable time travel romance in Florida!
Audiobook version: 5 stars overall, 5 stars narration, 5 stars overall
Although it is certainly inspired by Outlander, this book puts its own unique spin on the time travel romance subgenre. I especially love that there is no love triangle. The time traveler is single, and the other person quickly becomes single before the romance commences. I love this quirky story of mysterious, sexy Highland warrior Lachlan brought forward in time with his mother to modern day Amelia Island, Florida (a real place). He meets 23-year-old Kaitlyn trying to get her act together after a YouTube scandal. The story feels nicely realistic with a dash of magical time travelling people. I like the angle that the writer has: in today’s world, people aren’t going to think people are time travelers, and the travelers aren’t going to talk about it. The modern people assume they are just eccentric rich people from a remote area of Scotland. In addition, the details of Amelia Island and its beaches are wonderfully rich and realistic. It makes me feel like I am there.
This is the first book of a long series with the same main characters in a continuous story. It does not have a cliffhanger. It stopped at a good stopping place in the story. This book is pretty low angst, but it might get angstier later in the series. It is a slow burn with a few steamy scenes. I highly recommend this book to all fans of time travel romance and beach romance.
The heroine is very relatable, sometimes a little too self-pitying, but I like the narrator Keira Stevens’s voice for the Kaitlyn. The narrator really could sound like a hot Scottish guy, and she delivered Lachlan’s dialogue in such a romantic, sexy way. She also makes all of the characters sound distinctive and easy to distinguish by ear. I think that Keira Stevens was the perfect narrator for this book, and I can’t wait to dive into book 2.
I have had this audiobook in my library for a few months now. I bought it after seeing Keira Stevens was the narrator for it. I had listened to another audiobook series with Keira and Shane East, and loved their performance together, so I thought I’d try a new series. I cannot believe I waited so long to finally listen to it. The story was original, and very sweet. I loved Magnus the moment he arrives in the story, and Kaitlyn was also very likable. You feel for her because of the disappointments in her past relationships, and also for her over bearing parents. Yet, she still has a feistiness and a humor about her that makes you want to be her friend.
It looks like this is going to be a long series, and I’m usually not patient enough to listen to all of it. If the rest of the series is anything like the first book, then I might just have to weather it out, especially when Shane East starts narrating the rest of the books with Keira.
I really enjoyed this listen from Diana Knightley, This is the first in a series of time-travel romance novels following Kaitlyn and Magnus, and it is so much fun, and just a pure delight.
Keira Stevens does a great job bringing Kaitlyn to life, and the she really captures the humor and the fun of these novel. The novel is very whimsical and full of humor. In this first novel, we get the background on Magnus’s time travels, and the quick-moving but super loving relationship between Kaitlyn and Magnus.
Such a fun listen, and I’ll definitely be listening to the rest of this series.
I loved this story, its the beginning of a Kaitlyn and Magnus. One hot, sexy man in a kilt with a sword and an American woman who shows him the wonders of the modern world! How did he get there? Where was he from? What’s the danger with the storms? It’s full of eitement, turmoil, danger. Oh the series is going to be amazing!
Keira Stevens narration is phenomenal.

I was so confused at first. I went into the story thinking it was a typical romance. But Magnus was so odd. I could not understand why Kaitlyn did not question it. But as the story moves forward, I truly grew to love Magnus and all that he brought into the future with him. Things this world has lost, Magnus reminded us of. I am still unsure of Kaitlyn and hope in the next book, she grows on me. Time travel is not normally a favorite of mine, but Magnus makes it so fascinating, I could not get enough of the stories in the past.
Keira Stevens is a new to me narrator. I enjoyed her narration and will be looking for more books narrated by her. Her voice for Magnus was amazing. From the accent to the deeper male voice, she brought Magnus to life. Keira has an easy to listen to voice and read at a great speed. She kept the characters distinct and consistent which made the book easy to follow and get lost in. I am happy to have found another narrator to follow.
This is definitely the start of a series, but not a bad cliffhanger in that it ends in a good place (like an episode in a series). I listened to the Audible version. Keira Stevens does a great job making the story easy to listen to.
As far as the story itself, I enjoyed listening to it despite not really connecting with any of the characters. The characters seemed much less mature and less responsible than I expected. For example, it’s not just that they’re drinking frequently, but to the extent that they don’t make it to work as a result of the drinking and no one finds that strange.
Overall, I would recommend this story to people who like a different take on contemporary romance. The setting wasn’t unusual and the characters didn’t have any special abilities. The premise includes fantasy and there’s a tie to the past, but I didn’t feel like either played a major role for this first installment in the series. As a result, Kaitlyn and the Highlander might also appeal to those that don’t normally read fantasy.

It was average. Definitely not on par with Outlander
This is my first book by this author and narrator and it was amazing. Can’t wait to discover more books by this author.
It’s a great story and I’m reading the second book in the series, too!
My first from Diana Kightley… There are parts that I loved and parts that I didn’t… I think it is a well written story for the most part… I really like that its original and not a copy of Outlander. I would like to see the characters have more depth. I liked that it wasn’t all just about sex and they didn’t jump into bed, the steamy parts were very well written!! I did not like the constant juvenile partying or the H’s horrible parents. Not a fan of the cliffhanger…I am going to read the next book and probably the series.
I was prepared to NOT like this book because I’m such a fan of Outlander. But I ended up loving the book and the series. I’ve read all of them and they don’t disappoint.
