We got more of Kaitlin’s back story and so many things make so much more sense! I loved this book just as much as the earlier ones in this series. Writing and narration are both great!
This review is for the audio book
Wow, another great story and an excellent listen. I just love this series and this proved to be just as good as the previous books. This is book 6 in the Cassie Scot series, we met Kaitlin in the previous books and knew a little bit about her story. So It was nice for her to get her own book, to find out more about Kaitlin and her child and for her her to hopefully find her forever guy. All the characters in the series are interesting and there relationships between each other and there common goal is what makes this series interesting. I am off to start the next book to find out what the author has in store for the friends.
Kaitlin has come to the conclusion that running away with the father of her baby wasn’t her brightest move, well he is a vampire and is just wait for the right time to turn her. As the days pass and her baby needs her less and less she begins to fear for both of there lives and when she gets a chance to escape she takes it. With no plan and knowing the vampire group the father belongs to can track her easily, she turns to the vampire hunters guild. But has she escaped one prison for another? Feeling alone and isolated and having no magical powers what was a heaven soon becomes hell. Something isn’t right with the compound and she doesn’t trust anyone. Except the one person from her previous life the man who used mind magic to trick her best friend into nearly marrying him. But can she really trust him? With her son’s life on the line can she really afford not to trust him?
The same narrator has read all the books in this series which is a bonus as she does an excellent job and I really like her interpretation of all the characters.
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!

This is the 2nd companion novel to the Cassie Scot series. I really love this series. While you can pick up this book and read it without any trouble, the world experience will be so much more and you will understand references more if you read them all in order.
You never really got much about Kaitlin in the series. This is a wonderful edition to this world. It was nice to finally get Kaitlin’s story, but also to learn more about Matthew.
This book does on some subjects that some be sensitive with regarding to sexual abuse. I’d say this book is new adult. I loved being immersed into this magical world. I hope there is more to come because I want to know more about the White Guard and what happens next.
If you loved Cassie Scot, you definitely don’t want to miss reading this book!
