Sometimes you find family where you least expect it…When bass guitarist Jace Warner receives an urgent message from his high school sweetheart to come home, the rocker drops what he’s doing to get there. Finding out that his first love, the girl that stole his heart, is dying isn’t the biggest shock he receives. The bad boy rocker has a child, and now, he’s about to be her only living parent. … living parent.
After bonding with Kadence, his 6-year-old daughter, Jace knows there’s only one thing he wants to be–a father. But that’s not going to be as easy as it seems. Social worker, Summer Stephens doesn’t deem Jace’s lifestyle fit for parenting. She believes the stereotypes about rockers–that their lives are all about sex, drugs, and rock & roll.
Now it’s up to Jace to convince Summer that Kadence is right where she belongs–at home with him at CFD. He’s facing a fierce battle trying to prove there’s room in his life for music and the daughter he wants to share it all with.
Will Summer realize that home is where you make it, and if she looks close enough, she just might see a family for herself?

Kadence is a story, about Jace, Summer, and one of the cutest little girl, Kadence. Jace all the sudden gets a call from his high school sweetheart, saying come home. Summer believes all rockers lives a crazy life and don’t believe Jace is deem fit to raise her. Jace will do everything he has to, to prove a home is the people that love and support you. He will do everything he has to break Summer’s beliefs of rockstars.
Kadence, was a warm heart felt story about building a family from the ground up. Jace easily crept into my heart. He does everything, he has to do. Summer character was very likable, even though I was outrage, she was checking up on Jace…grr… Now, to the girl herself, my heart went out to Kadence, poor baby losing her Mom, and moving with people you didn’t know. The scene with her and Jesse cringe, shame on Jesse. OA Sera and Cage short story.
More rockstar love with A twist
The beginning of this book had me in tears. So heart breaking and close to home for so many. I felt so bad for Jace and Kadi. When Summer came in and his heart started to heal, it made my heart happy. The way the family stepped up and accepted Kadi wholly was beautiful. I love The whole spirits too. It give a different depth to the books.
Oh Kadi!
This story is so unlike the others, the heartbreak and healing. Truly wonderful, it brought me to tears a few times.
Omg I swear for the first 5 chapters I cried non-stop!! The writing was so beautiful throughout them <3
I've been a huge fan of this series from book 1, they're always so full of depth & love but I think 'Kadence' took it to a whole new level. It's deep down heartbreaking, at times, but also so full of Love & light that I found the entire book breathtakingly beautiful!!!
I cannot recommend this book enough, it was a true pleasure to read. I highly recommend you start with book 1 Falling Down & make your way through the entire series, you won't regret it!!

Can Jace get any sweeter? Did not think this series could get any better but I have been proved wrong. The love and acceptance from both Jace and Summer is amazing. Could not put this book down.
Oh wow! This is my favourite story so far. Such an emotional read….So good!
Kadence is a little angel with a heart of gold. A wonderful addition to the Rockstar family
Jace was an enigma going into this book. Very little was known about him from before the band was reformed. This explains so much about his life, how he got where he is, his attitude about certain things. ***Warning: Big, huge ugly cry at the beginning!*** I want to be mad at his ex, but can’t because of the situation (very frustrating!). I love the way Kadence is totally accepted by everyone (but I did not expect anything else from these Rockers!) I love the twists that are thrown in there about Summer’s past. And I absolutely LOVE the references to the other rocker books that were included (of course, I had to go read those too! Thanks for that BTW!) With all of the ups, downs, and sideways, I was immersed in this book from the beginning to the end!
She did it again!!! Every time she writes about one if these men, I fall head over heels for them. I loved Jesse (how could you not), Cage will always be my love, then came Ben and he’s soi much bettwer than I thought he could ever be.
But then came Jace Warner! We all known about him, lumped in with the others as a “man whore”. But from the very start of this book, he becomes so much more than that! Too see Jace as a single dad, struggling to find his footing and knowing that there is so much heart behind the man whore-ing made my heart burst.
Then ” the weekend” changed his life and we see him in such a new light, I cried! Tears of joy, tears of sorrow, tears of grief…every emotion came out in this book. Not only do you discover you are never given more than you can handle but something that comes up more than I’ve ever read in a book, “family isn’t always blood”. Nothing proves that more than this book!
Yet another wonderful additioin to a wonderful series. Anne Mercier is a wonderful storyteller. I cannot wait for our next inatallment!!!
I enjoyed reading this book. It was an emotional read at times due to some topics in the story but it was also a heartwarming loving romance between two people finding their way to each other.
Jace gets an urgent call from his high school sweetheart but when he finally meets her again afer all this time, secrets will be laid to bare. He finds out that he has a daughter who knows all about him but he didn’t know of her existence. Raising a child on his own won’t be easy but he has a loving family surrounding them. Jace will do whatever it takes to be a great father.
Social worker Summer has a job to figure out whether Jace is fit to be a parent. They’ve met before and things don’t always seem how they seem to be. As time goes by, she gets to know Jace on a whole other level. Will Jace convince Summer he’ll do right by his daughter or will she be taken away? Will Summer see more than meets the eye?…
