The first time they touch Kumi realizes there’s a problem—Oliver is the kind of man she could fall in love with, but he doesn’t believe in mixing BDSM and romance. The letter K really kicked me where it hurt, because these two…..
They’re both painfully alone, and not entirely by choice.
The overseers knew what they were doing when they paired these two, again.
Because they both got exactly what they needed!
Master S,aka Oliver, doesn’t do relationships anymore.
He doesn’t know how to do aftercare,he’s not easygoing or friendly,an ex even called him a barbarian medieval warlord.
The letter K means kidnapping, and his preperations take time.
So,he demands Kumi to be present at Las Palmas every week, and makes one of the subs hand her a letter from him.
Kumi hates the waiting at first because she really needs a good scene.
But as the weeks go by,she starts to get into a rythm, and the letters start to mean something to her.
She even starts to create an image of the Master that writes them and looks forward to meeting him.
Until one evening, she’s kidnapped straight from the parking lot at Las Palmas.
Fighting for her life, scared to death, she’s still taken to an unknown location.
Once there, her kidnapper reveals himself to be….Master S.
He wanted to make it as real as possible, but soon found out that was a very bad idea.
Giving Kumi a chance to leave seemed the only option left, but the little sub surprised him…..by staying.
Once she knew it was part of the game, she wanted to play, wanted to find out what Master S had planned for her.
Knifeplay was on that list until that went further then was safe, and Oliver needed to adjust, again.
Funny thing was,he started to feel protective of his little captive, and that was a first….
Opening up to eachother is a step that leads to something else, something surprisingly good.
But is it something they want to last….or is it just for the weekend?
This was another beautiful story in the series and i’m looking forward to the next!
At first, I wasn’t sure if Kumi was going to respond in a positive way to Oliver. I realize there are many people who live this life completely separate from their real lives, including the people in it. Kumi was in limbo with her real life enough to where I thought Oliver’s concrete ideals of life in and out of scenes would scare her away. Be too much for her to handle in the state of mind she was in. These two needed to be this way. To break the circumstances that held them both back from what they really wanted. Excellent read! Also, this was some of the most erotic knife play writing I have ever read. Very very good!
Although I always enjoy Lila’s books, this wasn’t my favorite. Oh don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy it but Oliver and Kumiko just weren’t my favorite couple in this series.
There is a lot of build-up (and of course fun) along the way but there is also pretense and dishonesty too. I was pulling for them to get together but wasn’t sure they were meant to be, at least not as much as other couples we’ve met along the way.
If you enjoy Lila’s books or even doms / subs, you should definitely read this book. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and was glad to have done so.
I really enjoyed this sexy BDSM romance. Oliver has such strong opinions about mixing BDSM with romantic relationships at the start but being with Kumi is making him feel all kinds of things he never expected. I liked these characters a lot! There’s an intensity between them and a bond that deepens as the story progresses. Great characters, excellent story, I couldn’t put it down. This author is one of my favorites.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
All I can think to say about this story is…enthralling! It had me hooked from the beginning. I was so invested in getting to know Master S and Kumi.
Master S. meticulously planned how to go about with the letter assigned to him, the letter K. The lovely Kumi will be at his mercy when he kidnaps her. But as they spend time during scene after scene, something changes for both of them. They will have to decide if opening up to each other, with their innermost thoughts and longings, can they make a go of it?
Thoroughly enjoyed this story, I wanted it to go and on and reading about what perverse things Master S plans for his submissive.
L Dubois has added another well-balanced story to the Checklist series. Oliver, as the Dom, elaborately sets up the location and circumstances to begin his and Kumi’s letter K games. Oliver and Kumi begin their path to awareness of what makes them truly lovable as individuals and as a committed couple through witty and emotionally charged conversations and scenes. L Dubois does not disappoint in portraying detailed scenes and character development which brings the reader into Oliver and Kumi’s mindset before, during, and after the weekend games.
Book 11 in the BDSM checklist series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Novella length told in dual POV with HEA. The exclusive BDSM club Las Palmas is matching up partners to complete the checklist game. Oscar and Kumiko had not met when they received their letter. Their weekend is packed with play and conversation! For taking place over a short time theirs is a complete story! Loved this quick steamy read!
If you have been reading the BDSM Checklist books by Lila DuBois, then you’ll know that we are up to the letter K, and wow what a letter it is. Here we see the relationship between Dom, Oliver Sanz and Submissive, Kumiko Ito grow. Kumi initially doesn’t know who here Dom is and has only been given tantalising letters for a while which she has had to follow, but which have also been a source of frustration for her. Oliver has never met anyone like Kumi, but knows that she is not as strong as she thinks she is and wants to taker her on a tour of submissive pleasure.
Scenes in this book are really hot…you see the quick development of the characters throughout scenes that they have together as well as independently. The author has a way of writing so much in such a small space of time which is sometimes heart-breaking, always a little bit kinky and totally real. We see wants and desires of both characters and how that is brought to the forefront in their sexual play and how everything cannot continue to just be black and white for these characters.
A wonderfully written book and an intriguing add to the letter K. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

Ooo, That… Kiss!
We finally made it to the letter K in the BDSM Checklist series.
Where we meet Master Sanz who is very meticulous about planning out his scenes and is kind of a Sadist.
He is paired with Kumiko who is trying to find herself again after realizing that the career that she spent her whole life obtaining was not making her happy.
Will these two be a good match, or will they find themselves to be incompatible and call it quits?
If you’ve been following the checklist series then you know some of the stories are very serious, but I found this one to be a little bit of a lighter story…even though he is a sadist…ooo, body shake, and not in a good way.
Can’t wait to see what the letter L is for…
Happy Reading 🙂
Such a unique pairing.. the woman looking for more and the man who believes he has all he needs. Thrown in the letter K and everything shifts into the unknown. I was terrified and wickedly aroused in all the right places of course 😉 maybe…
Eleven letters and books in and this series just gets better and better. I don’t know how Lila DuBois does it, but each of these couples’ books are as unique as the couples are. Oliver and Kumi’s story is well paced, steamy, and is as interesting as these two are. And the letter K has many, many different appearances in this book. Great read, great series.
I received and ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Hmmm, let’s see. K could be for knots as in bondage or shibari, knife play or kissing or just kinky. Yeah definitely kinky. Afterall, Las Palmas is a BDSM club. Let’s just say that Master S has built anticipation for their play weekend to a fever pitch for Kumiko. She doesn’t know what the letter is or the when, where or how they will play. They spend their weekend taking measure of one another as their truths are revealed. She challenges his notions about relationships and he gives her the structure and protection she yearns for.
Two strangers thrust into a game, a dark dangerous sensual game. But they will only be together for the weekend of the game, nothing else. Right? Kumiko is vividly described for us, as a submissive and as a a professional complicated woman. Oliver however, is pretty much a mystery. Except for his stuffy, barbaric, bossy ways we don’t get much on him. Their time together is smoking hot, but also makes you think because these characters are so realistic they could be real people. Totally caught up in this tale I couldn’t put it down till the heartbreakingly sweet happily ever after ending.
Kumi and Oliver didn’t seem like they should fit together, but they were perfectly matched! He embraced his inner barbarian and held true to his thoughts and beliefs from his observations over the years. She was floundering and needed her submissive release. But things didn’t go as either expected, and Kumi realized this immediately
“If her normal routine was easing into a spa, this was leaping off a high dive into a scalding hot spring.”
Kumi found herself over her head, but in an almost too good of a way. She liked it, she liked it a lot, and while Oliver wasn’t who she thought he’d be, he was better. She quickly loses control, but Oliver is there is keep her balanced
“Girls fell in love with the hero. Women, grown-ass women, fell for the villain”
Kumi knew this to be true, but Oliver thought not. He believed the villain is to be, well, vilified and feared. Even when Kumi lets him in on the secret, he scoffs it away. He learns the hard way that he might not be always right
“Someone had once told him that Doms were all frustrated knights”
Oliver knew this wasn’t true, he wasn’t chivalrous, and he well knew woman could look after themselves. But he was falling, and he didn’t want to control Kumi, he wanted to look after and protect her
Oliver and Kumi don’t appear as if they should fit, but as they fall for each other, they soon realize that appearances can be deceiving!
The club’s checklist game is now on K. As the book description indicates, K is for kidnapping. This one had me feeling a bit nervous before I started it, if I’m honest. I should have trusted that I would love Oliver and Kumi’s story as much as the preceding ones. The author has created another wonderful addition to the series.
My heart was pounding when the “kidnapping” was happening. The scenes between the two of them were intense but quite beautiful. Oliver believes that romance shouldn’t be a part of BDSM. Kumi, based on some things in her past, needs the exact opposite.
The journey these two take to meet somewhere in the middle is a journey I was happy to read. Oliver and Kumi’s story is unique, and I loved it!!
Some of the best BDSM out there!!
Delightful addition to this series all around the letter “K”. We get under each character’s skin, and so hope for a positive outcome. One holds himself at bay, one feels she has not met her potential. A touching and sensual journey for these two and the reader.
Each story in this series is better than the one before!!
