Texas Game Wardens don’t just protect the natural resources of the Lone Star State, they protect the people as well. Trace Carson considers every warden as more than just fellow officers, they’re family. Especially, Miranda Jimenez. She’d gone through the academy when he was on staff, and he was her first in-field training officer. There was no denying that she was a beautiful woman, he’d worked … he’d worked side by side with her and knew that her dedication to upholding the laws of Texas was second only to caring for wild animals and natural resources.
When she decided to leave her job as a game warden to open a wild animal rehabilitation it made perfect sense, but he couldn’t explain the sudden ache he felt at the thought of her leaving. It wasn’t going to be out of sight, out of mind, because he went to her ‘retirement’ party and he kissed her, changing everything.
When her connection with Trace puts Miranda’s life in danger, the law enforcement community in San Antonio pulls together to get her back where she belongs… in Trace’s arms. Will they find her in time to save her and get Justice for Miranda?

Surviving for him
Ohhhh. What a fantastic book! The author has amazed me once again with the depth of her characters and the complexity of her story line. I fell in love with Miranda and Trace and just couldn’t put the book down until I knew they would get their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.
Loved Trace and Miranda. Trace is older than her and didn’t think it would work. Miranda has been in love with him for a long time. They were partners when Miranda was still a game warden before she left and opened up her own place for wounded and hurt critters. They have a long road before he comes to his senses. But when Miranda is kidnapped, he knows what he could be losing. Great story with a HEA.
Omg I absolutely fell in love with Trace Carson. He has been secretly in love with Miranda and holy smokes this book is absolutely full of romance and chemistry and steamy sex scenes and suspense and action packed and let me tell you once you start reading this book you will be hooked until the end and I want more from them lol
Reina Torres has brought to life the lives of Game Wardens and what they go through with sweet romance added to the mix. Trace is in love with Miranda and trying to let her follow her dreams. Miranda wanted to be a Game Warden but her passion to help animals was greater.
I really enjoyed Trace an Miranda’s and an emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs. It had everything you’d want in a good read. I couldn’t believe how strong Miranda was during everything! Great ending to go along with the conclusion!!
What a great book! Miranda has retired from the Texas Game Wardens and is opening her own animal rehab place. Trace also works as a Game Warden. He’s a bit older than her and has issues with it. But the chemistry between these two is out of this world hot. There’s so much happening that you won’t be able to put this book down until you are finished with it. There are all kinds of exciting and dangerous activities going on. Also, a lot of different departmental support that makes you understand how a family that isn’t blood can still be your family. I hope we can read more about the Game Wardens and this family. They are fantastic!
I really liked this book it told about Miranda and Trace they started out as partners but she left the Game Wardens to start a rehab place for animals and she finds herself between some bad people. Miranda is a strong, smart, and tough woman. there are strong characters, a bit of action and romance what more could you ask for. Another good book by Reina!
A little bit of funny, a little bit of action (scary action, actually), a whole lotta HEA. Just my kind of entertainment. It was what is currently happening all over but especially in Texas. Most people don’t consider Park Rangers as law enforcement but they are well-trained officers. And, I don’t think enough can be said about killing wild animals just because you feel like it! They are part of our natural resources and should be treated with kindness and respect. Thank you, Reina, for bringing this to the forefront of this story. These characters were strong and capable and held mutual respect for themselves and their jobs. Another good job, Reina!
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review.
Enjoyed reading Trace and Miranda’s journey from working as partners, then her as a wild life rescue rehabilitation center and finding herself in the cross hairs of very bad people. Will Trace be able to save Miranda and finally grab his chance at love…grab this one and enjoy the ride!!
Loved Trace and Miranda. Trace is older than her and didn’t think it would work. Miranda has been in love with him for a long time. Really good book. Kept me interested and engaged throughout.
Miranda is animal wildlife rescue. Her cousin Jun is the vet for the rescue. Miranda used to be a Texas Game Warden. She loved being a Warden, but felt a closeness with the animals.
Her trainer Trace is still missing Miranda.
This book has suspense, violence (mild not graphic), romance, and love scenes. What more could one desire in a book. Great job Reina!
Trace has secretly loved Miranda since he trained her to become a Game Warden but he felt he was too old for her. Miranda had feelings for him too but neither acted on their feelings while they were working together. Just when their romance gets going there’s an unexpected twist that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I loved the connection and chemistry between Miranda and Trace. This is a well written story with great characters and a perfect ending.
Fantastic read! I finished this book in one sitting and loved every min of it! This isn’t your typical romance- it’s combined with romantic suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat! Great job reina!
I was sent an Arc copy of this book by Reina Torres
Wow, I read this book in just one sitting. I was so drawn into the book I couldn’t put it down. The love story between Miranda and Trace. The sweet animals she protected and the funny characters in the book. Plus a little thriller action in the romance story is just so awesome. I would highly recommend this book to someone who loves streamy romance with some thriller action throw into the mix.
Awesome job Reina Torres can’t wait to see what you come out with next.
this is an amazing story full of deep emotion, adventure and action, as well as steam.
Miranda is a retiring Game warden who is now working at an Animal rescue with her cousin, but is still working very closely with her former collegues. She has held feelings for her old trainer and partner for years and he for her, now they are just letting them surface. Trace has always has feelings for Miranda but thought he was too old for her, too bad Miranda never thought so, she always thought he was the most handsome male around.
I received an arc of this story that i happily reviewed
Trace and Miranda were amazing together. They soothed and balanced the other. She made him smile and relax and he helped to be the shelter in the storm. Loved them together. So great to see Conor again and then brief cameos from station 7 and Beth!! Yay.
What’s not to love about this story? Trace Carson was Miranda Jimenez’s teacher, mentor, partner, love and finally her savior. He’d always been drawn to Miranda but was reticient to take the next step to a relationship. Miranda is feisty and determined to have what she wants and that would be Trace. There are great hold your breath moments waiting for the action to begin, suspense, bad actors and of course sizzling steaminess.
Justice for Miranda by Reina Torres is the second book in her Police and Fire: Operation Alpha: San Antonio First Responders series with Susan Stoker’s world.
This is Miranda Jimenez and Trace Carson’s story. Since this is my first book read in Ms. Torres series I can say this would be a great standalone read. Did I mention one of my favorite shows is Lone Star Law? This book is just as good as the show.
Miranda Jimenez has spent four years as a Texas Game Warden and is now leaving to start her own Wildlife rehab place Totes Goats N’ Things. While there she and Trace Carson dance around each other never taking the next step even though the other wardens know that these two together would be fireworks. Being a game warden is rewarding but when a trial against some poachers leads to a warning and threats against her become deadly. When Miranda goes missing it will take everyone including Conor Paxton, Texas Rangers and Station 7 to find her in time before the poachers do something desperate.
Trace Carson has been Miranda’s teachers and field trainer when she graduated the academy but he’s always held back on telling her his feelings for her. (Even though the office has a pool going on how long it will take him) but when she leaves for her Wildlife rehab will he finally let her know that he loves her?
they are both Game Wardens She has resigned from being a warden and now is rehabing animals with her cousin She makes him lose control he wants to be the man she deserves when she is in danger he protects her 24 7 while the trial is going on she is taken and all of the agencies combine to get her back they have sizzling romance and a wonderful happy ending
Another amazing read by an amazing author!
I completely binged this book in a matter of a few hours, I just could not bare to put it down!
Im a huge fan of the friends to lovers thing and this was no exception! I can’t wait to read more!
A good friends to lovers romance. This story was intriguing and exciting and a little suspenseful. Trace & Miranda were fun to get to know and I liked the the suspense underling them getting together.
