For Cruz Livingston, becoming an FBI agent is a lifelong dream, guarding the streets of San Antonio, a calling. His latest assignment—infiltrating the Red Brothers Motorcycle Club—will help stem the flow of illegal drugs brought into the city by the violent gang. He expects the job to be dangerous. He doesn’t expect to meet the woman of his dreams while undercover.
Mickie Kaiser is refreshingly … refreshingly sweet, but her sister is intimately involved with the RBMC’s president. Cruz can’t afford to come clean about his double life without putting his operation in danger, but as violence creeps ever closer to Mickie, his priority becomes crystal clear. Cruz will do anything to keep Mickie alive…even if it means losing her love.
** Justice for Mickie is the 2nd book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

One of the reasons I don’t often read MC is because I love the good guys, the heroes, the ones that care about their women. The whole MC part of this book made me glad this is not the norm for this author. I love her characters every time and this one didn’t disappoint. Great ending, now I’m moving on to another in a different series.
Cruz is one of the characters (along with Tex) most used as a crossover in the Operation Alpha world so I was really keen to read his story and understand his relationship with Mickie.
In a lot of ways this book doesn’t disappoint, Cruz is everything you expect him to be and more, and despite the challenging storyline and horrible undertones that this brings with it, he stays redeemable throughout.
I guess if anything I struggled with Mickie. I really felt for a lot of the book she needed to grow up and stop being such a walkover by her sister and ultimately whilst family ties are all good and well, but Angel well and truly made her bed. As proven by the lack of real remorse demonstrated for her ultimate fate.
Despite this the storyline was exciting and pacy with strong wider character interaction SS does so well across her series.
An unusual 4* from me for this author but still worth a read and Cruz will become more familiar if you read more OA series books so worth reading if just to understand his backstory
I’ve “met” Cruz Livingston several times in crossover books from other authors. So I was very happy when he read his story in Justice for Mickie. This was dark and gritty at times as Susan Stoker showed us the dark underbelly of motorcycle gangs. Although Cruz is on the undercover assignment from hell, he meets the woman he was destined for. Mickie Kaiser unknowingly walks a dangerous path as she tries in vain to save her sister from the clutches of the MC. Cruz falls hard and fast for Mickie and is determined to keep her safe despite the ever growing threats to her safety.
This story is what might be the brutal world of drugs and sex. For Cruz Livingston, who has dedicated his life to helping those that need to escape danger, this latest assignment is of undercover member of a Motorcycle Club of the worst kind. Along the way he meets Mickie whose sister needs help but can’t see the drug world for what it is. Mickie is fresh air in the harsh world Cruz is now living. This book is the world of violence, drugs and bringing young women into the world of mindless, drug-induced sex and language that definitely belongs only in the gang environment. I’ve read about Cruz in other books and knew right away he is one of the good guys. Thanks for a story that brings awareness to a life I don’t want to visit.
“Justice for Mickie” is the second book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes series and is the story of Cruz Livingston and Mickie Kaiser. Cruz is a FBI agent who loves his job, the assignment he is on involves a motorcycle club and drugs. He never expects to meet the woman of his dreams on this job but that is exactly what happens. Mickie has a sister, Angel, that is involved with the president of the club and not in a good way. Mickie will do anything to help her sister and Cruz will do anything to help Mickie.
This book is loaded with suspense, action, romance, heartbreak, and love.
He is FBI but is undercover she is the sister of the girlfriend of the president of the gang when he is not undercover they go out and get to know one another the gang members target her because they think she isn’t good for her sister there are some scenes that are hard to get through but please keep reading there is sizzling romance and a happy ever after
A brilliant story. There are parts it that has so much sadness. The plot is realistic and thought provoking. Addiction to drugs causes so much pain for families and the people selling it cares for no one but themselves. It is a terrible problem. It is good when these things are highlighted is story like these because reading may cause someone to think about tricks that are to get innocent young ladies in situations like Mickie’s sister.
I love the characters in the story and the fact they are not afraid to show their feelings.
very good story, bad rap for motorcyclist, I still recommend this book.
Awesome read. I couldn’t put it down until the end.
This story is crazy and really good. Cruz and Mickie are adorable together. God her sister is a horrible person and I’m not happy with what happened to her because she was really a product of the environment her parents left her. But she was horrible to Mickie no matter how much she tried to help her. The story hold real credit to undercover work and how hard it is to kait since cover while doing your job. I love how they connected and really got one another.
Pretty much have read this entire series, entertaining and easy to read. Every woman’s hero.
This is the second book I have read in this series. There is great story building, suspense & romance all packed into one book. Really like this series and the books are easy to read. This was a touchy subject for me but I liked the characters so I just read on. I like that the good guy did his best to keep his morals and do what was right in a difficult situation.
Love this book, this is a great series!! I like how each character develops over the book.
I enjoyed this book as a great break from more serious books!
