Reluctantly taking her best friend’s place at a photo shoot, realtor Laine Parker expects to assist the photographer for the day…not drool over the volunteer model, Westin King. The Texas Ranger and real-life cowboy is hot-on-hot sexy, from the tips of his boots to the top of his Stetson. Despite her visceral reaction to the man, the last thing Laine expects is a whirlwind romance—but that’s … exactly what she gets.
Wes has been around the block enough to know what he wants, and he wants Laine. He wastes no time showing her how he feels…but he may never get the chance to tell her. Laine has disappeared, and it will take every connection Wes has—and a little help from a mangy stray—to get her back in his arms.

Enjoyed this book, she has a traumatic experience, but it’s nothing like the other girls suffered. Glad she got her man.
I read Wes & Laines story as part of the Cowboy Justice 12-pack! The first thing I would like to say is I love, love, LOVED this story. It was a quick, lighthearted read but so worth it! This story had me smiling throughout the book! I just love Ms. Stoker’s writing and she always does a superb job of pulling you into the story and I can’t wait for her next book!!
Get ready to meet your favorite Texas Ranger Cowboy! Quick and easy read that gets right to the heart and doesn’t disappoint!
Laine became one of my favorite characters
A shorter story than the rest of this series, it lacks no less of a punch.
I love how SS strives to give as many characters in her books (even supporting characters) a voice and a HEA.
Laine is good/best friends with Mackenzie and gets talked into doing her a favour. Through this she meets super hot cowboy Wes and they hit it off immediately. He talks her into a date and it all moves on at pace from there.
Of course it’s an SS story so the course of true love never moves smoothly…or without a large dose of risk and peril.
An exciting read which ticks all the boxes
Susan stoker does not disappoint. This one is a little different than some of her others but still wonderful. One of my favorites.
Wes and Laine’s story was story was heartwarming and just plain feel good. There’s a bit of drama and a bit of angst but there’s no hard hitting action or edge of your seat suspense. Instead two people feel the electrici arc of instant chemistry sizzle between them from the moment they set eyes on one another and it only gets hotter from there.
“Justice for Laine” is book four in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes series. It is the story of Laine Parker and Westin “Wes” King. Laine expects to assist a photographer on a photo shoot, but finds herself drooling over the real life cowboy and Texas Ranger who volunteered for the shoot. Wes is drawn to Laine in a way he doesn’t understand, but wants to explore. Only problem, the pretty realtor had disappeared and no one knows where she could possibly be. Wes knows that he has friends that will help him find Laine, but he surely wasn’t expecting help from a stray dog.
You have to read this one, it is short, sweet, loaded with fun and just enough angst to keep it exciting!
He is a Texas Ranger who poses for a calendar for charity she is the organizers best friend they meet and sparks fly so they get to know one another they have sizzling romance they agree to meet after work she shows houses to people He waits for her for hours he decides she is in trouble he calls in all of his friends they find her in a hole on a property she was to show they rescue her she and him decide that they love each other and have a happy ending
I love her series. I really enjoy how you get to revisit all the characters in each book in the series but each one is different. I’ve read all of them to date.
Loved this book, it is a great series!!
Book 4 in the Texas Hero’s series but this is a novella. Justice for Laine doesn’t have the same suspense edge that the other books in the series have held so far but it was still an enjoyable read. Wes is approached to be in the charity calendar and Laine turns up on his ranch to attend hi photo shoot their chemistry is immediate.
Laine and Wes develop a sweet relationship that packs some heat, almost instantly Wes is smitten with Laine but not in a cheesy way. I loved them together as a couple and this novella is a great addition to the series. It was nice to have something that was as on the edge in suspense but was still well written added to the mix.
Hooray for doggies!
Susan Stoker has a tendency to squeeze my emotions every time she puts out a story that this one was quite a surprise.
Justice for Laine, the fourth book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Series, was a breath of relief as it was quite light. Laine Parker, Mackenzie’s (Justice for Mackenzie) friend, meets Texas Ranger Westin King during a photo shoot. The two hit it off and start a whirlwind romance.
One day Laine disappears—and Westin and the rest the Texas Rangers, plus some other friends, must race against time to find her in time.
Like the rest of the Susan Stoker’s stories, this one was sweet and of course, filled with ahem, testosterone. This one, though, was lighter. Laine and Wes did not have a bevy of bad guys nipping at their heels or gunning for their lives, just a protective momma dog and a happily ever after I was definitely looking for!
Erin Mallon, bless her heart, gives a narration I look forward to, so for that, thank you!
Laine finds herself a cowboy
Laine gets roped into overseeing the photoshoot with Wes, another Texas Ranger on his ranch! The chemistry is tangible when Laine sees Wes for the first time….and is super happy she filled in for Mack. Not wasting any time, Wes asks Laine out on a date
A novella length story which I read pretty quickly and I couldn’t help fall in love with a persistent cowboy much like Laine
this author is fabulous, you get addictied to the series
Brest
Another wonderful book in the series. Paine’s friend Mack asks to go to a photo shoot at Wes’s ranch. He is a Texas’s Ranger and doing this shoot is part of a calendar of officers. Love at first sight is what happened to the both of them.
This was such a cute story. The heroine goes to a photo shoot for a friend, and meets this cute guy. They are both a little older, so they are not the starry eyed love fanatics. The man is a Texas ranger and a cowboy too. When she gets into trouble, he pulls out all of the stops to find her.
This is another favorite for me!! This isn’t as long as the other books in the series, but you wouldn’t know it by content. Only Susan Stoker can fit a actual book into a novella.
Susan Stoker has done it again! I loved reading about Laine and Wes, especially their discussion at the photo shoot.
I really liked the premise of this book. I don’t want to give the story away but I liked the fact that it was a life and death situation without being another story about someone with a gun or being kidnapped. I just really thought the situation was creative in terms of storytelling. You could feel Laine’s pain and very easily could visualize yourself in her situation. Her befriending the dog was so touching.
One thing I appreciate about a Susan Stoker’s book is that other characters from some of her other stories reappear to help in certain situations. You don’t have to have read all her books (thought I highly recommend it), to be able to understand their point in the story.
I highly recommend this book.
Wes and Laine have an immediate attraction to each other and I love that they don’t jump into bed right after meeting. They take it a little slow to get to know each other first. It was a twist that there’s not a specific “bad guy”, just the situations that affect the couple. The dog was an awesome touch and I love the way this series is shaping up!
Waiting for the next one I want to read in the series!
