A great series to get into. This being book three can be read as a standalone and reading the first two only gives you the background of the people mentioned. You feel like you are part of this group who seems to all be close. Molly and Sean have such a comfortable friendship they can joke around and watch out for their friends. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start.
Gah!
I have been, not so patiently, waiting for this story since meeting Molly and Sean in May the Best Man Win way back in 2016. Two years was a long time to wait, as their story was the one I was most excited for.
Although, the wait was long it was well worth it. Mira Lyn Kelly did not disappoint. Just This Once was everything I wanted for Sean and Molly and so much more. No one writes sweet and sultry quite like Ms. Kelly and this story was all kinds of sweet and sultry.
Ms. Kelly kept me on the edge of my seat with this story! The will they or won’t they certaintly kept the story entertaining, nevermind the quick witted dialogue between our hero and heroine. I do enjoy a story when two best friends find themselves catching feelings.
I felt ever every emotion pour off the page and couldn’t wait for the final outcome. This was certainly my most anticipated story but also my absolute favorite of the series and it makes me super excited for the next installment!
This was good, but not as good as I had hoped. I received this for free and volunteered to review it. I’ve given it a 4* rating. Not for the under 18 readers, too much dirty talk and centered around the sexual theme. The hero thought the heroine was out of bounds because she was a sister to his best friend, and other things in his life. However, they were good friends. After many years, the bounderies shift and we go from there.
This was hard for me to rate. On the way the story flowed alone, I would have given it 4 stars. But, Molly ruined a big chunk of the story with her “OMG he couldn’t really like me”. Sean and Molly were friends for years, and it took Sean moving in for the feelings to come to the surface. I feel like Molly made it seem like Sean never had feelings for her, but when the “big reveal” happened, he talked about having feelings for her too. Maybe not since she was 15, but I felt like it was unfair to Sean that Molly acted like she did. Molly projected her insecurities onto the situation, and made Sean keep it a secret. She knew it hurt Sean to do it, but she didn’t really think about his feelings. The whole “I’ll make a decision for the other person because I know best” thing always bugs me. Molly should have had a discussion with Sean about everything instead of pushing him away. I REALLY wish there was a confrontation between Sean and his mother. That situation felt glossed over. I do think that Sean and Molly belonged together when Molly got over her self. I liked the ending, and I would like to see what happens with Brody.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Molly used to have a huge crush on her best friend, Sean, who is also her brother’s friend. But she’s over it (not really), so when Sean moves himself into her place after kicking out her freeloading roommate, she’s sure they can manage. But, can they really when those old feelings pop up and lines start blurring between them? And when they dive into a fwb situation, it has the potential to get ugly, especially because Molly refuses to let Sean tell her brother they’re together.
While I normally love friends to lovers and brother’s friend romances, I’m afraid this one didn’t really do much for me. I just could not really connect with their story. I thought it was sweet, and I liked Sean, but Molly irritated me a lot. She was so wishy washy and hot and cold with Sean, and it drove me bonkers! So, while sweet, this one just did not work for me I’m afraid.
Molly and Sean have been best friends for years and have never crossed the line. When he takes it upon himself to evict her roommate and move in with her, the game changes and neither he nor Molly can ignore the chemistry and rightness of things between them.
This is the first book in this series that I read and I really feel like that put me at disadvantage. There’s lots of mentions of things that happened in previous books that aren’t explained enough to make sense to someone jumping in and I never felt like I understood the foundations of the relationship between Molly and Sean. I did like this book and maybe my feelings about it will change after I read books one and two of this series.

I am a fan of the best friends to lovers trope so I figured I would enjoy this story. I did not read the two books prior to this, but the blurb drew me in so I gave it a go. Unfortunately, I never felt a sizzling connection with Sean and Molly. Maybe it was something that built in the books prior, but their chemistry fell flat for me in this one.
Molly has been in love with Sean, her brother’s best friend and now hers, for quite some time. She thinks she has buried it far, far away. Things change when Sean throws Molly’s freeloading roommate out and he moves himself in. Panicked, she tries to get him to move back out as she knows her crush is real and it’s reared its ugly head.
Sean is the heir to a luxury chain of hotels. His mother is pushing him to marry, and to marry someone who she feels is right for the position. ie. wealthy, fashionable, be able to hold their own amongst the elite of the city. That plan has not been working out too well for him. He hadn’t really given Molly a second look, until he moved in with her and started to see her in a different light. Molly is not what his mother would pick for him and that’s too bad. I understand the family pressure, but in this day and age, I think a grown man should have some balls and stand up for what HE wants.
Meddling family is always a concern, but with all their interference, and the lack of chemistry between these two, I had a hard time with the book.
