Hope Prescott lives in Boston, far from the warm, southern home she recalls. She works with one goal in mind–finding her long-lost siblings. Yet her job at the answering service and her own loving nature creates a family of friends, people she knows only by their voices. She especially likes Griswald, gruff old butler for wealthy Zack Givens.
Meeting Griswald is a shock; he is neither gruff nor old, but a powerful, handsome man. In fact, he is Zack Givens, mysterious, cold, heartless–and charmed by the artless young woman who brings him chicken soup, treats him like a friend…and falls in love with the humble man she imagines him to be. When she discovers Zack’s secret and faces his betrayal, she leaves without a backward glance. Can Zack solve the mystery that haunts Hope’s past to prove their futures lie together?
JUST THE WAY YOU ARE is a full-length romantic suspense, book #1 in Christina Dodd’s bestselling Lost Hearts series, and includes bonus material for your reading enjoyment. Fans of Nora Roberts and Jayne Ann Krentz will enjoy CLOSE TO YOU.

Awesome book! Definitely need to check out the rest of the series.
Looks like I am hooked on another series by Christina Dodd. Hope and Zack both have closed their hearts off due to being burned. Hope by a town that separated her from her brother and sisters. Zack from women just wanting his money. It is kismet when his secretary goes on vacation and Zack needs to call his answering service for messages. The voice on the other end of the phone just reels him in. The innocent deception in the beginning turned on him in the end. Hope did what no one else has been able to do which was peel the layers away that covered his heart. The road to get there, you have to read the story. Really good story and will be reading “Almost Like Being in Love” and “Close to You” as I need to know what happened to the sisters.
Fun read, interesting. Loved ot!
A very good easy reading.
Love Christina Dodd. Her books never disappoint. Her heroine was marvelous. The ending was funny and fun. Loved it.
Enjoyed it so much, I read it twice!
Looking forward to others by this author
interesting
I always enjoy Christina Dodd novels. They are easy to read and allow life to be real with its many challenges. Her characters have depth with strength and vulnerabilities which make them relatable.
It was an easy to read romance. The characters had some depth and enough of a plot to make it above the average. Reminded me a lot of the movie Bells Are Ringing. You wished for it to come out well, which means the author had you caring about the characters.
Good reading
I liked that the book had a good back story and could happen. It had steamy sex scenes, but it wasn’t the main focus which I appreciated. I was glad it had the ending it did.
I don’t normally read romance books. But this one was pretty good. There was good character development, even the ancillary ones. What I liked was the author had insight about relationships and what should be said or done to make a good one. Her word choices were spot on to convey what needed to be said between our lovers. I had to look up a few words along the way!
Ms. Dodd has once again thrilled with her trilogy. While each book can be read as a stand alone, reading the three in order just adds to the pleasure. The characters are true-to-life and the plots intriguing. I definitely recommend all of them!
Good story overall. Predictable. Not overly exciting.
Two very different people come together by chance but when one is not truthful
yet caring, things can come back to haunt you. Two people helping each other find themselves. I look forward to reading the following in the series.
Excellent read keeping your attention until the end. You won’t want to put the book down once you start reading.
a nice little read.
I do not like books where you are expecting an ending, but then the author says you must buy my next book to learn the ending. It’s predictable, so I won’t buy or read any more books that do this.
It was an o.k. read.
