I am a fan of the 425 Madison Series. Each book in the series is its own story. The common thread is the location of 425 Madison, a place where love is in bloom.
This is the story of Eliza and Murphy. They both signed up for an online dating app but seem to be crossing paths often, without the help of the dating app. There is an instant attraction, there is friendship, and there is falling in love. I liked that they spent time together, they got to know each other, and they didn’t rush right into a relationship. They talked and got to know each other.
Just Swipe Right is a quick and easy book. It is fun to read and the characters are easy to relate to. There is some drama, some love, and a lot of romance. The story is sexy and fun with a glimpse into the reality of dating using apps.
Eliza and Murphy are both signed up for a dating app, but first meet when Murphy is picking up a date in Eliza’s building. They keep running into each other around the city, walking their dogs, and other random places. Finally they are matched to each other on the app, but they are both still dating someone else too. Eventually they both have some decisions to make about how they will proceed.
This was a pretty good book. Eliza and her sister have a great relationship, and dogs always make a story better. I appreciated the fact that this wasn’t an instalove story, but a more realistic snapshot of dating life. Murphy in a crises is goals, too. He was exactly what Eliza needed.
Initially, I wasn’t sure if the subject matter in this story would resonate with me. Being married for 30 years has made a need for online dating obsolete (haha). I realized after saying that it sounds ridiculous. Not every story or aspect of a book has to pertain to my life in order to find it enjoyable. Who are we kidding, they often don’t. That is the beauty of this book. It had me living a different life (eek). My happy place.
Eliza, a writer and Murphy, a chef are adorable together. It felt like destiny that they kept running into each other before they even connected on the online dating app. The doggie connection only increased my love of this book. Sigh. The perils these two face in dealing with the dating world sounded completely realistic and somewhat scary (yikes).
This book is a lovely, feel good romance with the right amount of spiciness added (wink). I highly recommend it. Happy reading everyone!
Just Swipe Right by Allie York is the 3rd book in the 425 Madison Series. I was very impressed with the first two books in the series and this one did not disappoint! Grab your coffee or wine and let’s chat about Just Swipe Right.
Gone is the taboo of online dating and society has progressed to online/APP hookups. You know exactly what I am talking about even if you’ve never participated. You swipe left if you are not interested and right if you are. It has appeal to women and men who are too busy to go out and meet people the “old-fashioned” way. It also provides a safe way to chat and get to know each other without passing along your contact information to a potential serial killer. It is exactly what Eliza needs…according to her sister. Eliza, Liza, to her readers has decided to turn her online dating experiences into a book. This is just research. There is no way that she will meet the ONE, if there really is such a thing, through a dating APP so she might was well have a little fun in the meantime.
Murphy, who has recently moved to New York, is a chef and finds it very difficult to meet people while working restaurant hours. Murphy wants the kind of love and relationship that his parents have. He is not looking for hookups but his best friend convinces him to try the dating app to meet people and break him out of his comfort zone. Murphy first meets Eliza while picking up his first swipe right match who is CRAZY! She keeps popping up and Murphy begins to wonder…could she be the one?
Allie York created a hilarious depiction of online/app dating! Murphy is such a sweet, sexy man. You know that I love a man in uniform but a chef’s coat counts as a uniform, right? Men that cook are very sexy! In my imagination, Murphy doesn’t wear the traditional white chef’s coat. Nope, he wears the dark gray with the sleeves rolled up showing off his muscular forearms. I think Eliza is crazy not to jump right into a relationship with Murphy but she has some issues that she needs to work through. My rating of Just Swipe Right by Allie York is 4.5 out of 5 propellers!
4.5 stars really. At only about 6% into the story I was kind of hooked because Eliza reminded me of myself with her collection of pug figurines, although mine would be dachshund figurines. I loved the characters having dogs, and how that brought them together accidentally, before they got connected through the dating app. So much about the whole experience with the dating app was spot on to the thoughts and things I would worry about with any type of dating using that method. Do you only date one person at a time? Or is it okay to keep your app going while you date one person, since you don’t know if it is going to be a match, and that is how you met anyway, right? And if you do keep it open, how much do you talk to another person, or seek out other people to talk to? Does that count as cheating? I loved the connection that Eliza and Murphy had, and I was totally telling Eliza to come clean about things like what article she wrote, and the book she was working on, in order to keep from things blowing up later. All the things you expect to go wrong in a romance.
In the end, I feel this was such a realistic story. While I’m not exactly sure of the motives of the other guy that Eliza was dating, his end bit was really crazy, I like how Murphy handled his ultimatum. It was needed. I hate how Eliza dealt with it at first, but I totally understand her choosing what she did. The ending was perfect, I loved the story. Definitely want to read more by this author now, as well as more in this series.
Fun and amazing! A wonderfully written romance. Great addition to the series!!! I read an arc copy of this book.
Eliza is in a dating slump so her sister decides to sign her up for online dating. Though she meets some if the men all seem to be disastrous besides a certain enigmatic man.
Murphy is new to the city and working as a chef with his best friend, but he us lonely in this big new city so his friend suggests a dating app he uses. All does not go well however there us one woman he is trying to see a possibility with.
While they are in the sea of online dating Eliza and Murphy keep running into one another in a city of millions so that has to mean something right? Soon they discover that fate must be trying to get them together because the signs are just too hard to miss. While these two are falling for each other in the background they are still seeing the people from their online dating woes.
This is kind of where the story lies me a little bit because I really dont see why they couldn’t realize their true feelings for one another sooner and not still be seeing other people. I get the we’re not exclusive jargon but when you start sleeping together then that discussion needs to happen a lot sooner than theirs did. I also hated the back and forth wish washy nature of Eliza and also the I don’t really have feelings for the other woman I’m seeing but why not keep her around thing Murphy was pulling. That’s just my personal feelings though.
This book was written well and t it flowed nicely and it was great to see the secondary characters get in on the love including the pups. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series so far they have all been great!
This was a super cute book. Murphy is the perfect book boyfriend a woman could have, not only is he a chef but his heart is in the right place. I love how him and Eliza met, and Dudley plus Dozer! I hope if your on a dating app you find someone like Murphy. I loved how Piper and Derek were there for them and they didn’t even use the app to find love!
I absolutely floved this book! It was enthralling and I had to keep reading until the end. Bravo!
Just Swipe Right is Book 3 in the 425 Madison series. These stories stand perfectly fine on their own. This was a fun, quick read that I enjoyed immensely. There was one “incident” towards the end that kind of came out of left field that I would have loved the author to have expanded on a bit more but overall this was a great story. Loved the chemistry between Murphy and Eliza.
I guess it’s true. A person can do just about anything on the internet, even fall in love. Just Swipe Right turns ridiculous into unforgettable. York pokes humor at the internet dating craze while keeping a hint of unbelievable fantasy intact. Murphy and Eliza are one click away from finding forever. Over the top romance turns into a hard to resist good time.
Did you ever read a book with an eternal smile on your face when certain characters are together? Well let me tell you I just noticed I am smiling while reading this book. I noticed at 74% I had this smile on my face every time I read about Murphy and Eliza meeting up with each other. Even with all the smiles it’s still sexy, exciting and fun.
This is a sweet little story about online dating and has several other elements to it. It’s part of the 425 Madison series. I don’t do spoilers but I’m not giving anything away by saying there’s an online dating service involved. Hey, it’s the way things are one now, and Eliza is just trying to find out what all the buzz is about. Murphy, is one of two of the people she’s interested to pursue further. There’s others and you get to read about the experiences.
The second characters are just as pertinent to the story and are fun and interesting. There’s also dogs! Almost everyone loves dogs. I would love to read a follow up story based on the secondary characters. As it is I was reacquainted with characters from the first book in this series. I haven’t had the opportunity to read the second book so I can’t comment on that.
How much do you believe in fate and happenstance? Do you like a book that brings all the feels? If the answer to these questions are yes, maybe, I think so, or maybe you can change my mind, then this is the book for you.
I read this book in one sitting. It’s a quick read and you won’t want to put it down. This is my first book by this author. I’m looking forward to read more. I’m s happy I decided. Just Swipe Right was for me.
This is a really good read!
What do you do when your sister sets you up a profile on a dating app and begs you to give it a month! Well, obviously you become obsessed with checking it and going out on dates! That’s easy, but what happens when there are two men that you really interested in. One is high profile, in the public eye and has money, the second it a chef, down to earth and fun.
Thank
Eliza is put in a difficult situation when she is told by one that he wants her to dump the other guy and be his exclusive girlfriend! Stroll in man number 2, with flowers and a speech about being exclusive to only him!
What will Eliza do? Can she choose just one? What would her advice column pen name tell her to do? And who will be there for her when she gets a devastating phone call?
This is a lovely book about what happens in today world of dating technology!
HOW MANY TIMES MUST COINCIDENCE SLAP YOU BEFORE THE TRUTH IS REVEALED?
A story of fate and circumstance coming from digital dating. What starts out to be an experiment turns into true love as two men vie for the affections of one woman. Not knowing what was best for her and trying to write a novel, Eliza joins a dating app after being forced by her sister. The men she runs into seem to be a lot like today’s men., showing different aspects as to why they shouldn’t be allowed to digital date. It seems that the ‘good old fashioned’ man with manners still exists. HOORAY!!
Swoon-worthy Romantic Daring Love Story of Epic proportions! Allie York is Another New Author for me and She Had me Intrigued from the Very beginning of JUST SWIPE RIGHT!
I’m Really Loving this 425 Series with Other Amazing Authors that I am Discovering and this is Book #3 which they all can be Read as Standalones. But when reading in Order, it Brings Everyone together like HUGE Family. Totally Entertaining from the get go and keeps you smiling the whole time reading the Book. I Could Not Put It in Down and devour it in ONE Sitting since there is So much Suspenseful Surprises and TWISTS that Have you guessing.
I Loved every minute of JUST SWIPE RIGHT and CANNOT WAIT TO read more from this Author and definitely a Must Read Book!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Eliza and Murphy are just what we needed to read. A fun book about online dating. Just Swipe Right is so fun and there are dogs 🙂 dogs make books better.
I loved so many things about this book. I loved the accidental meetings and I loved how Eliza was hopeful with every date she had and those all made me laugh lol. It made me super glad to be married and not put in this crazy dating world.
I’m not going to say anything more but it is a must read book in the 425 Madison Ave series.
I cannot wait to read more!
I’m loving this 425 Madison series! It is introducing me to some great authors I may have not tried otherwise! Just Swipe Right was just the right amount of antsy and sweet! Murphy is a whole new level of swooning special! And Eliza was an absolute perfect match. She’s just like most women… Wanting love but terrified of making the wrong decision. Let’s just say that this story took a turn I was not expecting! Great story. Now I need to go look for more books by Allie York!
Omg!! I couldn’t wait for this book!! I LOVE online dating books because it reminds me of how I met my husband!! While I know I’m reading this book for an honest review I hope some issues towards the back of the book were fixed. As you can tell that did not affect my rating because it was just so freaking good!!
Eliza has a great start of the story and I freaking loved her column in the magazine but what I did not love were the struggles with dating. I know now days things are different and even during meeting my husband it was different but I just had high hopes my heart wouldn’t get broken. I fell HARD for Dudley though because shit, how could you not fall in love with an ugly pug!! I really loved some things about each man she dated but one particular man had my nerves a little unsettled and it wasn’t the “stalker”.
I want to tell you about the guys but my feelings towards each will give away who she chooses and you NEED the suspense of that aspect of the book! I will tell you about Derek because I actually really liked the man-whore and I definitely saw that needing with him! I can’t wait for the next in this series!! Such great people!!
I have to say it again; I love the playlists at the beginning of all the books in the 425 Madison series. The playlists really do set the moods for the books, and the playlist for Just Swipe Right was great.
Eliza is a 24 year old advice column writer for a local magazine. Her sister Piper, whom she shares an apartment with at 425 Madison, signs Eliza up for a dating app call Match Me. Eliza agrees to try the app out for a week and promises to swipe right and go out a few times with her matches. Eliza is looking at dating with the app as a challenge, and to use it for research for a book on the adventures of online dating.
Murphy is a 28 year old head chef, and Alabama transplant living in New York with his best friend Derek, who convinces him to sign up for Match Me. Derek tells Murphy to look at it as a hook up app, but Murphy doesn’t like the idea of multiple random hook ups, he’s a commitment guy. he finally decides whats the harm of in just looking at what New York has to offer.
Eliza and Murphy don’t meet through the app, but by accident. Murphy is on his way to pick up his first match Me date at 425 Madison when he meets Eliza coming back from walking her dog. They flirt a bit, introduce themselves, then go their own separate ways. They meet later again that same night a couple more times. First while they are leaving 425 Madison Murphy with his pushy feely date, and Eliza on her way to meet her first date, then on their way home after their first dates. They flirt some more as Murphy walks Eliza home, and they coincidentally meet a few more times before being matched on the app. Once matched on the app they officially start dating, even though they are both seeing another person. Eliza isn’t looking for serious, while Murphy isn’t happy seeing two people at once. After a month or so of dating Murphy is ready to settle down and be with Eliza, and asks her to decide between him and the other guy she is dating.
Just Swipe Right had a HEA, and was a sweet romance, but didn’t have any of the hot steamy action as the first two books in the 425 Madison series. I wish Eliza and Murphy would have decided to be with each other sooner, so we could have had more of their love story together. I am not a huge fan of stories with characters dating multiple people, but I enjoyed this book.
I received an ARC of Just Swipe Right in exchange for an honest review.
