An unplanned stop in Willow Beach turns into an unexpected romance.Being a single mother was hard. But Stella Pierce did a good job, and now that her only child is off to college, she can sit back and relax.Except that these things never work out the way you’ve planned. Turns out that the empty nester life just makes her anxious. So when her friend Eloise suggests she take a vacation down to … vacation down to Boston, that’s exactly what Stella does.
Too bad she never makes it that far.
When her car breaks down in the small seaside town of Willow Beach, Stella finds herself stuck. And the sweet, handsome mechanic down at the car shop, Sam Warren, doesn’t seem to be in too much of a hurry to send Stella on her way.
Fortunately, the Baldwin family at the Willow Beach Inn is there to welcome her with open arms.
Maybe starting fresh is exactly what Stella has been looking for.
Take off your shoes and stay awhile at the Willow Beach Inn in Book 2 of this heartwarming series. You’ll see Willow Beach through a newcomer’s eyes and fall in love all over again with the Baldwin family.

Oh how I love this series! It’s a feel good, heartwarming series that just gives you all the right feels and makes you wanna visit Willow beach! Loved this storyline, loved the characters and yes I love the Baldwins!!
Heroine Constantly Anxious
I have read another “inn” series by this author, and I quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I found this story lacked because of the heroine. She was utterly unbelievable to me because she appeared far too untrusting for a woman who grew up in a small Maine town and dithered about the smallest of details, bordering on clinical anxiety—and I say this as an RN who has seen people with that affliction! The slightest action (or inaction) or wrong word sent her into a mental tailspin every time. She over-thought, overanalyzed, and over-reacted to everything. The author did not show or tell us in the beginning why she was like that. There was no plausible explanation. In fact, I doubt whether she could have been such a competent single mother as the author states throughout the book with this level of anxiety, odd quirks, and neuroses. The book is told only from the heroine’s perspective, and I would have loved to have seen chapters written from the hero’s point of view so we could better understand his attraction to this neurotic woman and the (sometimes questionable) decisions he made. All in all, I found myself disappointed in this book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is the second book in the Willow Beach Inn series. This is Stella and Sam’s story. When Stella’s son goes off to college, Stella feels lost. Her friend suggests she take a vacation and when her car breaks down she ends up in Willow Beach. Sam owns the garage in Willow Beach and is the one to come help her. She’s forced to hang out there while her car gets fixed, and the small town definitely appeals to her. She could very well make a life for herself there. Plus, there’s a real connection between her and Sam. Will she decide to stay?
Ms. Palmer has given us another 5 star story. The town, the people are all so wonderfully portrayed and the characters are so endearing you can’t help but fall in love with them. I always know I am in for a treat when I pick up one of Ms. Palmer’s books. This is a series you definitely don’t want to miss out on!

Heart-warming and sweet small-town romance. Entertaining characters and a wonderful story. Like the small-town background because it makes for a nice story with a few things thrown in because of a small town dynamics. Good read.

This is a story that one way or the other the reader can relate to either to parts of it or in full. So many of the two main characters doubts, regrets and sorrows are our own in our daily lives again if not in full in some of it. It´s a romance with a lot of reality in it and it makes one think that is better regret of things done than of things undone! I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Warning, no spoilers with this review, instead I’m going to tell you why I like this book, this series and the author.
Grace Palmer does a fantastic job writing her stories that you’re captivated within the first words. Her characters are amazing, well developed, easy to get to know, relatable, realistic and feel like family by the time you finish the book. This is the second book in an amazing series that’s captivating and enjoyable to read. You can read this one as a stand alone but trust me, if you haven’t read the first book in the series, you’ll definitely want to when you finish this book. Highly, highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Grace Palmer entertained me once again with her novel, Just South of Perfect. This story of Stella heading to Boston is told in 3rd person, Stella is heading to Boston for a little vacation, something new to do. Stella is bored and lonely after being a single mom who’s son doesn’t need her everyday anymore. Stella is a planner, but her best friend isn’t, but eventually Eloise convinces Stella to just go , hit the open road and don’t stop till you get there. But by luck or kismet, Stella doesn’t make it all the way to Boston. Enter Sam. The man who makes her think, “when was the last time I was kissed?” For years Stella told her son “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” Will she stay in Willow Bay that she has been so warmly welcomed in to? OR Head back to the safe life she knows. She can do either, but what should she do? Though this novel can stand alone, you will appreciate the Baldwin Family and their loving nature they use to run the INN if you read “Just South of Paradise 1” If you love series written by such authors as Robyn Carr and Debbie Macomber you will love discovering Willow Bay and Grace Palmer.
The second book in the Willow Beach Inn series a well written story with a very good storyline. Stella Pierce and mechanic Sam Warren meet when her car breaks down in Willow Beach on her way to Boston. I enjoyed seeing this story come together, they where just right for each other. I was a volunteer ARC for this book. I loved it! It is set in the small town of Willow Beach. It was great to be back with the Baldwin family again. It is a great book in the series which can stand alone also. I related to Stella as a single mom who is now an empty nester and had devoted her life to her son. She is pushed to be spontaneous by her friend and has her car breakdown on the way to Boston. She ends up in Willow Beach at the Willow Beach Inn to wait for her car to be fixed. She gets immersed into the small town and starts to wonder about making changes to her life. You definitely won’t be disappointed!
This is a heartwarming small town romance with empty nester Stella meeting Sam, the tow truck driver and mechanic she meets when her car breaks down. The author once again brings a cast of strong , well developed characters and an entertaining story line. She paints her scenes vividly and delivers another great book to the Willow Beach Inn series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This is book two of The Willow Beach Inn series and it is Stella and Sam. Stella is a single mother but when Jace her son leaves for college Stella feels lost and in a funk as he is her whole world. Her friend Brenda from work stages an intervention and persuades Stella to take a much needed vacation but how will it all end. When Stella’s car brakes down she ends up staying at Willow Beach Inn but what happens next is up to Stella. Will she find herself and what she needs in life in Willow Beach or will she go back home and regret her decision. Sam owns the garage in Willow Beach and didn’t date but when he goes to a car breakdown he was not expecting to see the beautiful woman by her car and was definitely not expecting how he feels but nothing can happen as she is going back home soon or is she. Wow I love this book so much and all the characters were so caring and there for each regardless of what they had been through. Grace Palmer is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
I received an ARC from Grace Palmer for an honest review. This book was amazing! It was spontaneous, it just lifted my spirits. How everything going so wrong can turn out to be so right is, yes, just south of perfect. When a single Mom, Stella’s child, leaves home to go to college, Stalla is faced with what to do with herself. She was having a hard time dealing with it and her best friend told her to be spontaneous and go on a two week vacation. Just get in your car and drive and her friend threw some clothes in a suitcase and sent her on her way.
It didn’t start out too well because so many things were going wrong. But as she became friends with the people of Willow Beach, things began to change.
This is an excellent book about becoming an empty nester, it has so much community spirit, and we get to read how everything going so wrong to turning the page to things looking up. This is book 2 in the Willow Beach series and it takes us from the lows of Stella’s life to picking herself up and learning where she goes from here. While I was reading it, it felt like an abundance of sunlight, clear blue sky, and then a million stars came twinking all-around all wrapped up. If I could give it a 10, I would.
