Just Say Yes
Indianapolis Eagles, Book 1
By: Samantha Lind
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Sarah Puckett
I love hockey romances, and this second chance romance fits the bill for fun! Samantha Lind’s Just Say Yes, the first book in the Indianapolis Eagles series lets us fall in love with love. Becca and Scott were the perfect couple in high school. When it came time for Scott to play hockey professionally, Becca called it quits. Not able to deal with the separation or chaos of an athlete’s life, she chose to get out. Now years later, they are both in the same town, and Becca is going to let nature take it’s course. Will Scott still be interested? Will Becca find her way back to him? Will she just say yes? It’s a sweet romance, with a few obstacles. Scott and Becca are likeable characters, easy to relate to and I found to be very realistic. The secondary characters add so much to the story, with advice and friendship. Books like this one are the perfect listen for my weekends, as it gives me all the feels.
Lind scored big on her narration team of Tim Paige and Sarah Puckett! I loved their interpretation of the story. Paige gets the goal with his voice for Scott. He has that warm, loving voice that you can’t help but fall for as Scott begins his pursuit of Becca. And Puckett skates in with a confident and easy to love heroine. Together, their dual narration is a winner for me and I really enjoyed it.

Just Say Yes
Indianapolis Eagles, Book 1
By: Samantha Lind
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Sarah Puckett
This is an enjoyable second chance romance, the storylines are original and held my attention from start to end. The characters are realistic and likable, they are easily to relate to. Scott Taylor is a professional hockey player, he plays for a team in Indianapolis but goes back to his hometown in Alaska every summer. Becca Philips was his first love, his only love and she has been on his mind wondering what ifs. Becca is an ER nurse in his hometown, Scott is her first love, she had to let him go when he became a professional hockey player, she did not want to compete with puck bunnies. He is back in town celebrating his Stanley cup win with the people in the town. When he sees Becca, he asks her to go out with him and she agrees. Their story is a sweet one, they find their love and attraction is still going strong and they want to get it right this time. I liked how their story plays out, there is not a lot of drama or angst just a sweet romance. I liked the camaraderie amongst the team members and how tight and supportive their friends and family are. Samantha Lind, thank you for this terrific story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige are wonderful narrators and talented voice artists. They bring the characters to live giving each their own voice and personality., their portrayal of the characters is spot on. You could hear how much heart they but into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. The are entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen

Great book, really enjoyed reading it and can not wait to read more from this author.
I love second chance romances and this one didn’t disappoint. I’ve read other hockey romances and it’s always hard to get into them but this one just flowed so well and I couldn’t put it down.
This is the 1st book in a new series from this talented author, and what an amazing introduction this story is! Scott is an NHL player who is home for the summer, and Becca was always his 1st love. This is a well written story which has me hooked and intrigued throughout, and I cannot wait to read more in this riveting series!
Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind is a fantastic book! This is the first book in her Indianapolis Eagles Series. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be my last time reading this author. I couldn’t put my kindle down while reading this book! Just Say Yes tells the love story of Scott Taylor and Becca Phillips.
Just Say Yes begins when Scott Taylor who is Captain of the Indianapolis Eagles Hockey Team comes back t his home town to show off the team’s Stanley Cup that they had won. While Scott and his fellow friends and teammates are out to dinner he sees his old love and friend Becca Phillips. Scott has always loved Becca and has never stopped. Becca Phillips is a nurse and she has always loved Scott and has never stopped loving him. She broke up with him so he could have his shot in the professional hockey league. When the pair see each other again, the chemistry between them is still the same and burns hot as ever.
Will Becca and Scott take another chance on love? Will the pair give in to the passion and heat? Will Becca and Scott get their happy ever after? You will have to read Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind to find out! This book has plenty of romance and hot love scenes. This book kept me so engaged to the point that I had to keep reading to see what happens next.
Make sure you get a copy of Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind! You won’t be disappointed! I will definitely be reading the rest of this fantastic series.
I’ve got this entire series sitting on my kindle ready for me to read in anticipation of book 7 coming soon.
I enjoy stories where people get a second chance to get it right. Most often than not, they come with a bit of drama and maybe some redemption. Well, that didn’t happen here. The getting back together portion of their journey happened in the first third of the book LOL and then it was just reading the lives of Becca and Scott.
SO, there’s really no conflict in the story. I didn’t enjoy that part of the plot. Personally, I like to have something/someone to root for and I didn’t really have that. There was zero drama or redemption on anyone’s part. The story just happened.
I’m hoping there’s bit more excitement moving forward with the rest of the books. We shall see …..

This was a very sweet second chance romance book and a great start to a new series. Scott and Becca are a perfect couple and have a great story line, so you will be glued to your book or kindle from start to finish. Also, secondary characters are fantastic and I can’t wait to see if they get their own stories in the future and how things turn out for them!! You should start this series right away!
What a great introduction to a new series! This story of Becca and Scott is a sweet and steamy love story that evolves over years. Childhood sweethearts that take a break because of the difficulties of being with an NHL superstar. I liked that each character is well established in their lives before coming back together. The secondary characters are fantastic and I look forward to reading more about them in future books! This second book by Samantha is fantastic! Well done!
I would read from this author again.
I have to say that this is an amazing second chance romance. It was swoon worthy and had me gushing because Scott really loved Becca and Becca really loved Scott. They were first loves and true loves but insecurities get in the way.
Scott and Becca are a couple who are meant for each other until Becca starts to get doubts about Scott when he makes it big as a Hockey player. She breaks things off with him and becomes an ER nurse and goes about life with her friends as if she is happy.
That is until one day Scott can’t take it anymore and he pursues her and lets her know that he wants her and always has. Scott is not taking no for an answer this time and the love that unfolds between them is absolutely breath taking.
This is a must read story and beginning to this series and I will be reading them all!
“Second chance, 3.5 stars”
Scott and Becca were friends turned lovers when they were younger. When it came time for Scott to go play in the NHL they walked away from each other. A mutual decision. Years later when Scott comes home after winning the Cup they run back into each other. Its like picking up where they left off. When season starts back up will they be able to stay together, or will the time and distance keep them apart?
I genuinely liked the idea and plot of Just Say Yes. For me it fell down with the writing style. How it was written almost reminded me of reading someone’s diary of what happened that day. I couldn’t fall into the story which is a big thing for me. Other then that it was a solid story that I’m sure other people will enjoy.

I bought second book of the series so I must’ve liked it.
Not much of a plot, just talked about sex too much
Page after page of vulgarity!
Becca Phillips and Scott Taylor were childhood friends who began dating as freshmen in high school. Their relationship lasted until Scott, a talented hockey player, was drafted by the Indianapolis Eagles of the National Hockey League. This was a dream come true for Scott, and he had worked hard all of his life to achieve this goals. He was heartbroken when Becca broke up with him after he was drafted and he left for Indianapolis with a heavy heart. He was still in love with Becca and that would never change. Scott had come home every summer for the past eight years to see his family, but he never saw Becca because she was very successful at ignoring him. His team won the Stanley Cup this season and it was his turn to have the trophy, and he was bringing it home to Alaska. This summer would be different, because he was determined to get Becca back in his life.
Becca has been in love with Scott her whole life, even during the eight years they were separated. When he was drafted, she was so happy for him and she knew he deserved this honor. She broke up with him because she wasn’t sure if she could handle a long distance relationship. Becca was also jealous of the rink bunnies who throw themselves at the players. She knew in her heart she could trust Scott to be faithful, but she just didn’t want to deal with any of it. She has regretted her decision ever since. She knew Scott was home for the summer with the trophy and she was not going to hide from him anymore. She hoped with all her heart that he was still in love with her and would give her a second chance.
Will Scott be able to convince Becca that she has always been the love of his life, or will she still be unable to deal with his lifestyle?
Will Becca finally realize that Scott is her soulmate or will she break his heart once again?
“Just Say Yes” by Samantha Lind, is the first book in her new Indianapolis Eagles Series, and I really enjoyed this wonderful story. Becca and Scott’s love for each other was always there; all they needed was a second chance. I can’t wait to see what happens with Kinley and Brian in the next book in the series, “Scoring the Player.”
Reading Progress
2.5 stars
First off, I hate leaving low stars. I was excited to start a new author, especially one that has come up in conversations before. It started out a little slow, but promising. Becca and Scott don’t hesitate to rekindle their romance, which is good, but I found the story very fluffy. There wasn’t a ton of oomph for me. I felt like I was just reading a sweet contemporary romance with no action. Don’t get me wrong there was lots of sex, averaging once a chapter, but I felt that’s the only exciting thing that happened. Closer to 75% into the book I did get some of the angst I was looking for, but it felt fast paced, a little jumpy, and resolved quickly. After, it was back to fluffy.
Lots of hockey lingo, which I love, but I wanted Scott to be a little rougher around the edges.
I would try another book by this author, but I’d be more prepared for fluff than I was this time.

This is a sweet second chance sports romance, the first I’ve read by this Author.
Becca and Scott were high school sweet hearts, but Becca couldn’t handle the female attention Scott received when he became a pro hockey player and broke up with him.
After a chance meeting in their hometown, 8 years after their breakup, Becca realizes she never stopped loving him. This story is mostly about how they handle the rekindling of their relationship, along with some exciting scenes from Scott’s NHL career.
Right from the begining, Scott knew what he wanted, and did everything he could to show Becca how he felt. He was so sweet with her!
Becca is a strong, independent woman, but knows she made a mistake. She just isn’t sure what to do about it. But Scott knows!
Unlike alot of sports themed romances, this story focuses more on the second chance romance aspect, and less on the fact that Scott just happens to play hockey for a living. It makes for a more interesting story line, and the story just seems to flow better.
All told, this is a sweet, easy read that was very enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the next one, as it seems to be the beginning of a series, and would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes sports romance or second chance romances.
