A very good book
3.5 stars
Make sure you have your dentist on speed dial, as Just Say Yes i so so sweet it will give you a toothache.
Soctt and Becca’s second chance at love is cute and sweet (yes, that word again) and you just want to hug everyboy all the time.
I did like that their breakup wasn’t all drama, and that when they reconnected they acted like adults.
One thing that bugged me, but probably won’t anyone else was the “babe” factor. Every conversation had too much of “hey babe?” “Yes honey?” “pass the sugar babe” and it got a bit eyeroll worthy for me -but like I said, this is probably just a me thing.
This is the first Samantha Lind book I have read, and will be going on to read more of the Eagles series.
Books are my one great escape. A chance to disappear into someone else’s life for just a little while.
I discovered Samantha Lind recently and really enjoy her work. Writing a review after reading a book is my way of saying thank you to the author that wrote the book.
This book is centered around a professional hockey player and an ER nurse who went their separate ways eight years prior to deciding to give their relationship another try since they both admit their love for the other is still strong.
As we go through the rekindling of the romance between Scott and Becca it’s obvious that they can work out the one thing that caused them to separate. There is definite electricity between these two and since they have taken the time to talk through traveling and settle some of those issues by Becca relocating and making friends with the WAG’s of the team.
I love this book and can’t wait to start on Scoring The Player (Indianapolis Eagles Series #2 (less)
After being separated as a couple for about 8 years, Scott Taylor and Becca Phillips reconnect after Scott’s hockey team the Indianapolis Eagles have won the Stanley Cup. First love is hard to compete with so when neither one of them have found someone else they decide to take a second chance with each other. Their chemistry is off the charts and so is their connection. They want the same thing each other and a life together, family and a bond that will not be broken.
Samantha Lind, excellent work on this beautifully written love story, I fell in love with the characters, the story was smooth and followed off the page easy to not put it down until it was over. To me it was a second chance at love story and as I’ve said before couldn’t put it down after I got into the first page. Amazing down to earth characters, real life problems such an injury would cause where easily understood as the bumps in the story and how they maneuvered around them was easy to read. A real page turner.
Can’t wait to get started on “Scoring the Player” next. Should have all four books in the series read and reviewed in time for the newest book to come out “Against the Boards” Indianapolis Eagles Book #5.
Thank you again Samantha Lind!
Scott & Becca have a sweet second chance romance. They’ve been apart for about 8 years, due to Becca’s stubbornness, really. This is the story of how they admit their love never died, and how they work together to make their relationship work together. *grin* : )
The story is sweet and easy to read.
Sweet and tender
I normally don’t judge a book by it’s cover, by on my… I just had to one click this one!
I have loved Samantha Lind since I accidentally found her on Instagram talking about her debut novel Tempting Tess, so when this book came available for an ARC I jumped at the chance. This is an amazing second chance romance that tugs at the heart strings but also speaks to one person’s desires to overcome all struggles to be with the one that he loves no matter what.
Just Say Yes is focused on Scott, a pro hockey player and the love of his life and ex-girlfriend Becca a registered nurse who never really got over one another. These two did not separate on unhappy terms, but Becca was unable to cope with the separation and groupies that come with being a professional hockey player. Now they are grown up and yet again discovered that their love for one another has not wained, so instead of turning a blind eye that decided to give love another chance.
This book was a sweet and easy read with minimal angst. Don’t get me wrong Becca and Scott did not ride off in the sunset, they continued to have struggles and had life throw them some serious curve balls but in the end, the two of them worked together in order to ensure that this time their relationship endure the obstacles life put in their way. I can not wait for the next installment!
I gave this Book a rating of 5 ’s

I AM SO IN LOVE!! Samantha Lind is a fairly new-to-me author, but I cannot get enough!! I devoured this entire series! Second chance romances are a hue favorite of mine – and Scott and Becca were perfect!! Five Stars are not enough!!
This is such a sweet second chance love story! Second chance stories are some of my absolute favorites, but I am also the most critical when it comes to them. You have to really convince me the couple deserves each other and can make it work the second time around. That said, I fell hard for Scott and Becca! These two clearly belong together!
I actually started this series out of order and read Scoring the Player first. Once I read it, I knew I needed to go back and get Scott and Becca’s story, because I was already half in love with them. They are just so perfect for one another. Scott may be the tough hockey player in the rink, but he is the ultimate gentleman when it comes to Becca. He is sweet and treats her like his queen. There is absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for her. And Becca is the same. Neither one of them could stand to be apart once they found their way back together. I loved that Becca understood what his job required and never made him feel like he had to choose. She was loving and supportive and wanted him to be successful. I absolutely loved that there wasn’t something huge to forgive, yet the characters still had to change and develop throughout the story. They needed to find a way to make things work, and they did.
I love the way the team is like a family in this series. The guys are supportive of one another and the WAGs (wives and girlfriends) also stick together. I love the way the books are so connected and leave you excited and ready for the next story because you already feel like you know the guys. I also enjoy that hockey is important to the story rather than just mentioned in passing. You don’t need to be a huge fan to enjoy the story, but it is a true sports story.
I am a huge fan of this series! My only advice is to block out some reading time, because once you read this, you will want to read right through the rest of the series!
Scott and Becca are finding that no matter how far you skate away from destiny one good return will get you back where you belong. Becca knows that it was probably a cosmic mistake to let the challenges of Scott’s Hockey lifestyle tear them apart. She knows in her heart or heart that he would have been true and they probably would have weathered the ups and downs, but hindsight is 20/20. Scott should be ecstatic! His team finally is cup champs and he is back home celebrating his victory, but he can’t help but wishing he was sharing his victory with the one who got away. Becca is still the love of his life and he would give anything to have her back in his life. When he sees her again he knows he cannot let this opportunity pass him by. He is going to get Becca to give them another shot!
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
I’ve only read one other book by Samantha Lind, Until You, and it was so sugary sweet I got a cavity… the good kind. If there was a good kind of cavity. Anyway, so I only read the one book and I wasn’t sure what to expect for Just Say Yes. Basically: it was just as sweet, if not sweeter. And I loved it!
Just Say Yes is a second chance, sports romance so strap on your ice skates and get ready for a book that will have you wanting more. Scott and Becca were high school sweet hearts that let Scott’s rise to athlete stardom come between them. While Scott was destined for the NHL, and made it into the minor leagues and beyond, Becca was young and didn’t know how to handle it. So they broke up and let ten years pass before trying to their relationship over again.
All the drama in this, which honestly isn’t much to begin with, has to do with outside forces. Once these two decide to give their relationship a shot, they do everything the can to make it work, and they are so cute! Their drama has to do with the distance these too have, since Scott lives mostly in Indianapolis and Becca lives in Alaska. So Becca and Scott have their trials and tribulations, but the years apart have shown them what and who they want, so they do everything they can to keep it.
I read a lot of dark romances, so Scott and Becca would have been the best pick me up after reading something that ripped my heart out over and over again. Becca was supportive and independent, and Scott had just enough alpha in him to make him possessive and supportive at the same time. In fact, one of my favorite parts about this novel, is that they were both so supportive of the other. They wanted the other to succeed, but they also wanted to be together, they just didn’t want to hinder the other’s career. As much as Scott wanted to drag Becca with him everywhere, he knew he couldn’t. He also didn’t want to, because her happiness meant more to him than anything else. They had to find the balance between happiness, living your dream, and being with the one you love.
This is the first in the Indianapolis Eagles series, and stay tuned! Book 3 comes out soon!!
Loved loved loved this book
A second chance love story without all the angsty drama involved. This was a nice listen from a new author for me. The narration was done fabulously as always with these two.
Just Say Yes is a sweet, quick, second chance romance. Samantha Lind definitely writes on the lighter side.
Scott is back home in Alaska after winning the Stanley Cup. As the Captain of the Eagles he gets the cup first. He’s hosting a huge event in his hometown for everyone to see it. Becca is a nurse at the hospital in their hometown. They run into each other one morning and bam they are back together.
They have been broken up for several years, and Scott still has a home in their hometown so how have they never seen each other until now? When I think second chance romance I just think more emotion and that’s why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.
Becca and Scott clearly still have a chemistry that jumps off the pages. It was like no time had past since they had last seen each other. They fell right back into step where they would have been had they not broken up for years.
I love the plot, second chance romances are my jam. However, I thought it needed more emotion. I didn’t connect with the characters the way I would have liked. Just Say Yes was a cute, quick read and if you like insta-love, lighter romance this is definitely your book.
If you are looking for a easy read that cute and sweet – this book is your winner!
No drama, no angst, just a couple that broke apart and eight years later they are getting back together again.
I do have to admit to skimming some of the pages because the story seemed to go on repeat. Its not a bad read and I did enjoy the story, will most likely read book two (but will wait for a price drop).
* AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *
I liked the story, it had zero drama and I was waiting for it. It’s not filled with surprises but if you like a sweet drama free love story you’ll get it from this.I did enjoy it but it lacks something to be really good.
The characters is well written and developed in to realistic personalities
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Narrators:
Both narrators is doing an excellent job with bringing the characters to life and adding feelings to the story. Clear pronunciation makes it a joy listening to.
5 stars overall.

This story shows how much love Scott and Becca still have for each after 8 years of being apart. Will they be able to overcome the problems and Becca fears that kept them apart?
Tim Paige and Sarah Puckett show the love and emotions in this story. I enjoyed listening to this story. . audiobookobsessionreviewer
