Just when I think she can’t top the last book, Charity Ferrell has to go and prove me wrong. Sierra and Maliki are everything. From her constant sneaking into his bar and him throwing her out, their witty and playful banter/flirting, to when she’s FINALLY legal and struts in ready to own the place. Everything just gets hotter from there. Total laugh out loud story that will keep you glued to the pages until you can’t turn them anymore. Another great addition to the Blue Beech series.

A hot read full of banter and lots of sexual tension. Maliki is one alpha who you fall in love with from the get go. The chemistry between him and Sierra has you hoping they sort themselves out and finally get together. One read that you do not want to miss out on.
Wow, I did not see this book coming. I thought it was just going to be a fun roommates to lovers story. There was so much to unpack from this story, so much emotion and heartache but I loved every bit of it. I enjoyed the history between Sierra and Maliki starting from her underage and sneaking into his bar, to finally becoming legal and entering his bar and becoming friends. They had so much chemistry between them even before they knew they wanted each other.
This story takes us through Sierra and Maliki’s friendship, we see Sierra get married because she doesn’t believe Maliki would ever be with her. And when Sierra’s marriage implodes, Maliki is there to pick up the pieces and help Sierra figure out how to move on.
I loved the slow burn that it took until they found their way to each other. It made their love completely believable. Their scenes were scorching hot! Maliki and Sierra are perfect together and they had to overcome many obstacles to get together. One last obstacle could be what ruins them forever. Maliki has someone from his past revealing a secret which he keeps from Sierra. I have absolutely loved this series and am so glad to have found Charity’s books.
You could feel the chemistry of Sierra and Maliki from their very first encounter.
Loved this series
Great read!!
Loved this book. Couldn’t put it down.
I loved this book! Such a good story. Loved the characters and their story. Made me laugh a lot. Good steamy stuff too!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story about Maliki the Pub owner and Sierra, his girlfriend.
Love, love, love! The banter between characters, the way the characters never want to admit to each other their feelings, the twists…….I love it all! Definitely did not want this one to end! I was hooked and pulled into this story from the first page!
Maliki is the town’s hottest bar tender and a crush for Sierra. Sierra is eighteen when she tries to sneak into the bar and Maliki kicks her out after a hilarious interaction between them. Sierra isn’t one to give up easily and goes back into the bar when she’s twenty one and can legally drink. Maliki is a confirmed bachelor and has no intention of getting involved with a younger woman. This is a slow burn romance with several things splitting the couple apart but they always end up together. A good read and great banter between the couple.
Yet another fabulous Blue Beech addition! Charity never disappoints with her hot and sexy characters! Just Roommates was the 5th book in the series, but they can all be read as stand-alones.
Sierra knew Maliki was too old for her, but it didn’t stop her from sneaking into his bar, while underage. Over the years he continued to kick her out but something kept drawing them back together.
Maliki knew Sierra was trouble from the start but he couldn’t stay away. They had an unexplainable bond that had him wrapped around her finger. He would do anything to help her…to protect her…to love her.
When her life falls apart, can Maliki help her pick up the pieces? Or would the secrets of his past break them for good?
So steamy and full of angst! It was fun watching their friendship grow over the years; although Sierra made me mad several times and I don’t know how many times I wanted to throat punch Jessa!!
This is my first book by Charity Ferrell and I can tell you this will not be the last. In Just Roommates Maliki is a bar owner who is forever a bachelor and one of the hottest guys in town. Sierra, who is under age, has a huge crush on the older bartender and sneaks into the bar with friends. Maliki catches her and after some witty banter tosses her out. She comes back every year and drives him crazy. More witty banter and crazy things happen but each time she still got tossed out until she finally is old enough to be there. I loved the way they became friends over the years and the slow burn, the buildup and the unexpected twist had me losing sleep to see where they were headed. This book definitely had me hooked and I couldn’t put it down.
Loved Sierra and Maliki! The banter between the 2 of them before Sierra is legal to be in his bar is great. The slow burn between these two as they live their lives and try to keep each other in the friends catagory is super hot. I have loved all the books that I have read in this series so far. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
So this my first in the series and my first by this author, but definitely won’t be my last.
This complete standalone was funny, charming, sexy, angsty (is that a word?), and kept me on my toes. So much fun, do not miss!
5 “Roomies” Stars
I’ve just finished my favorite book in the Blue Beech Series! Just Roommates was such a pleasure to read! I adored the relationship between Maliki and Sienna. Those two were so much fun with the never ending flirty banter they share. I enjoyed the way they meet and make an impact on each other’s life across the years. Their intense attraction is clear from the start, but the age gap and other circumstances make them first develop a somewhat friendship that turns into so much more. I was just waiting for them to take the plunge into a romantic relationship and when they did, it was just perfection.
This book was well balanced between hilarious moments, but also emotional ones! The characters we met in the previous books of the series were present and it was interesting to see them. Just Roommates was a real treat. This couple was just so in sync in everything and made me feel a lot of their passion. The plot line was interesting too and this made this read so enjoyable!
I don’t want to speak too soon but this might have been the best story in the entire series. I’m not really sure why I feel that way, only that I really clicked with the main characters and most of all the plot. So warning; this book will grab onto you and never let you go until the absolute last page.
I’m not sure what did it, but I was invested in the story and their romance from page one. Maybe it was Sierra’s innocent yet flirty personality, or Maliki’s charm and protectiveness. Maybe it was just the whole situation with her as a minor in a bar and him, the bar owner catching her there. What I do know however was that I was all in throughout the story. Especially with the drama with the boyfriend and everyone else that tried to get between them, including themselves. Every twist and turn the story took had me fully on board, with only just a few exceptions where the story and its excitement lost me a bit.
One of those things was Liz. Her hate towards Sierra was absolutely understandable and at the same time I was indignant on Sierra’s behalf for how she was treated. This I liked, however the problem was how quickly and for no apparent reason Liz just changed her tune. There was something building up there like it was going to lead to something explosive so it was kind of a let down and off how Liz suddenly not only let go of her anger but even took Sierra’s side.
While I liked the drama it brought I also found it a bit off how both exes acted the same way with their vindictiveness, kind of making them blend together. They were both doing anything to make her life miserable and break them up. This was also a bit too quickly just moved forward from since both of them quickly went away without any hassle. I would have liked it to lead to something bigger perhaps. Although, I guess the story as a whole didn’t really need it with the big climax and conflict it had. That was the highlight of the story … well, after the ending though. The ending was the most satisfying part, enough to give the book five stars.
Very enjoyable
Great book and easy to read.
